Terrific hospitality, delicious food, wonderful service. Sounds simple because when it happens it’s seamless. Alta ticks all these boxes. Be transported to a trattoria in Rome. Highly recommended.

My wife and I had our 10 year anniversary here and it was just amazing!

From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. The bar and restaurant team could not do enough for us. This was a birthday celebration to remember. The food was wonderful I had the lamb ribs and sirloin for lunch and my partner had the octopus and pork sausages and we shared the cauliflower mornay with our main course. The wine list is interesting and varied and the carlton draught on tap was a bonus. We can't wait to go back!

Very enjoyable midday visit to the Standard - the first for my colleagues and I. Staff friendly and responsive and wide choice of beers/ciders really hit the mark. Cleanliness and ambience excellent - loved the variety of memorabilia on the walls. Parking in the Fitzroy area a difficulty - maximum of 2 hour parking in some areas close by insufficient for our visit ( we were there for 3.5 hours. Eventually parked in the Museum underground car park which was an easy 15 minute stroll from the Hotel. Intrigued by the Banana and Coconut Spring Rolls on the sweets menu -very unusual but tasty.

We live it here; such great service and great Sunday roast
