At Wing Lei, rising star chef Ming Yu masterfully blends the flavors of China with Western technique to create a singularly delicious cuisine. Its just one delectable reason this is the only Chinese restaurant in North America to be recognized with the prestigious Forbes Five-Star Award. The seduction begins as you enter this exotic space, dressed in glimmering glass, tiger onyx, mother-of-pearl and gold accents. The décor, with its curved lines and rich gold accents, is meant to evoke the idea of 1930’s Shanghai. Every inch of this restaurant has been meticulously planned and lovingly crafted, from the ultra-plush, deep tapestry chairs and to the gold-tipped black chopsticks that grace the table settings. Large picture windows look onto a charming outdoor garden, replete with two 100-year old pomegranate trees. Despite all of the grandeur, the haute Chinese menu remains the focus, with its luxurious mix of Cantonese, Shanghai and Sichuan specialties.

Bis auf den Hauptgang des Chef Tasting Menu 188$, waren wir sehr zufrieden. Ente würde mit dem Rest des Menus viel besser harmonieren.

The only reason this isn’t 0-star is that the Peking duck was actually good and that this site doesn’t give 0-star as an option. Other than that, the experience was a true disappointment. If you ever do decide to dine here, make sure you do not dine alone because the level of service is dependent on whether you are a solo diner or if there is at least another person accompanying you. I dined alone but I did order two people’s portion, the service was abysmal and surprisingly nothing like a restaurant that had earned Michelin star at all! An XO sauce took over 10 minutes to get and you would think they were trying yo harvest it. Because of this delay, my dish was cold by the time the sauce came and in spite of making that known, they didn’t even offer to reheat it. And on top of that, they quoted the price of the condiment wrong, something that I wouldn’t have known until I saw the bill. It was a truly disappointing experience all in all, a waste of the 2 hours that I will not get back.

Do not order a bottle of wine at Wing Lei because you are not allowed to take your bottle with you. Service is uneven. Food is good. Management does not care about its customers.

Excellent from beginning to end. The Peking Duck dinner is delicious and beautiful in presentation! I love the big cherry for dessert! What a beautiful dining exoerience
