Huge disappointment for Mothers Day brunch. Once seated we waited over 40 minutes for a server to appear. Even then there were no menus, no silverware. We waited another 10 minutes to be given menus. She took our orders but then couldn't read her writing and came back to the table twice to ask what we ordered. Poached eggs came hard boiled, water was not refilled and we were often left with long gaps in between service. Three hours later we still had not received dessert and b/c some of us had to drive back to NYC I asked for one in a to-go container and asked for the check so that we wouldn't have to wait another hour for the check. Dessert came only for one person instead of 5. She took our credit card and disappeared. I was so utterly embarrassed by how bad everything was, I have never done this but I went to the front to speak to someone who seemed like a manager. I shared that our experience was embarrassingly bad and that it now being over 3 hours could we just have our credit card back so we could leave. This was the worst part of the experience--he DID NOT CARE. Just said 'which table are you at?' The other 4 desserts arrived in take out containers along with our credit card. We couldn't leave fast enough. What an awful experience any day let alone mother's day. It was clear from other patrons that they were equally dismayed, annoyed, and angry. It's a shame b/c it's at a beautiful location and some of the food was good. But do not go here at any cost--it is not worth the risk. I've never had such a bad experience dining anywhere in my life--and I'm old-I've been to alot of restaurants.

They just know how to do a lovely, service oriented, quality MOTHERS DAY brunch each and every year. Kudos! Quite good on other weekends through the year as well. =)

Valley Green is one of a very few places that consistently delivers a terrific dining experience in an amazing historic setting. Mother’s Day crowds are especially challenging and the caring staff did everything to make it a treat.

Always a pleasant setting, the fireplace room was quiet & cozy. We were three and everything was excellent: we had soup, goat cheese empanadas, crab cakes. Service was professional and efficient. Definitely recommend.

I had a lovely dinner here last night. The server was personable and fun, the food was delicious and the restaurant restaurant is tucked away in a gorgeous natural setting.

The food was great with the Korean sticky ribs very tender. Wait staff was attentive and made us feel very welcome. We look forward to coming here both with friends and as a couple.

You can't beat sitting on the porch on a beautiful day! That said, be careful what you order because my burger was way overcooked even though I have had it before and liked it but after eating half I realized that the little pick in it said "well" when I asked for medium rare. Our waiter was nice enough and we even discussed how the chef does medium rare so I imagine he picked up the wrong burger. I was taking a friend out for a special retirement lunch so I didn't want to make a fuss. She liked her meal. We also waited for a long time to order. People after us ordered and then finally our soon to be waiter did ask if anyone was taking care of us so he took us. I will probably be back. Last time I went my burger was great. This time, no. I went years ago to a wedding and it was super. Went for a prix fixe Valentines' dinner and it was not great and super expensive. BUT THE ATMOSPHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So great I would suggest it to a friend with the caveat to be careful and sit outside during nice weather and by the fire inside in the winter :)

Valley Green is a great place for a special dinner — or just a night out somewhere different. The atmosphere is lovely. If the weather’s nice enough, sit outside on the porch. Did and service are very good, and there is something for almost every price range. To top it all off, they make it clear which dishes are (or can be made) for those who are gluten-sensitive. All around, a great place for dinner!

A fabulous experience from start to finish. The hostess, Paige, was friendly and extremely courteous. Our table was ready immediately. Dominic, our waiter, was extremely professional, efficient, and had a very pleasant personality. We each had a turkey club sandwich that was an 11 out of 10, accompanied by a very generous green salad. The view from the porch is beautiful. Go and enjoy a wonderful dining experience.

It was a memorable experience! Such a culinary delight! The atmosphere was picture perfect! It was a wonderful afternoon, and perfect setting for our anniversary. We are definitely making Valley Green Inn a part of our regular dining experience. And we love the ducks!

They always serve fabulous food, not inexpensive but worth the price. The chef is creative and competent. The setting was perfect for a glorious sunny warm day, and we ate on the patio. After our meal we went and sat on a bench at the side of the stream (Wissihocken Creek) and watched the ducks and geese come and go.

The bread basket alone is worth a visit. Meanwhile, access to the lower parking lot was denied to us although we had a reservation, so we had a bit of a walk to get there. Seems tricky..

Sloppy Service, overcooked rib and too expensive..only good thing was the mashed potatoes...No fresh bread provided with butter to go with the soup...Salad was good . Fire should have been lit in the fireplace room ...

The seating service was extremely poor. We had reservations for 2:30 and was not seated until 3:15 pm. The hostess did not seem to know how to work the computer that had the seating reservations/instructions and was very inefficient in seating those customers that had reservations. When we were finally called to a table, it was to an outside table when specifically we had stated in our reservations that we wanted an inside table.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant with perhaps the nicest staff around! Everyone was so friendly and upbeat. The food was gorgeous! Quinoa bowl, Cheese board, and Salmon Imperial were all excellent! We are already planning our next visit!

The Tiramisu was wonderful. It will bring me back. Food generally good. Waiter a great! Made a great latte and suggested the Tiramisu. He generally went out of his way to give us a good experience.

Another wonderful dining experience at the Valley Green Inn. This time my party of four came for Sunday brunch. We were happily surprised with a complementary basket of warm mini muffins. Which went very well with our glasses of very reasonably priced and good dry white. Two of us had the crabcake sandwich with fries which was delicious. my other two dining companions had salads – one a beautiful quinoa, and the other a large salad with chicken, both of which they enjoyed. Now, the service! We were fortunate to get Tristan again as our server. He was a delight as usual with attentive and upbeat service. As I said, a wonderful dining experience – good food, good service, and the beautiful ambience of the Wissahickon . What could be better.

It was a beautiful day and it seemed to be a surprise with the amount of people that were there. We made a reservation but when arrived, waited in the front station for about 15 minutes without anyone stopping to ask or check-in. After getting seated, waited another 15-20 minutes to place a drink order and wasn't even with our server. Seemed like others were navigating through that as well. At the end, once service started it was good and food was excellent.
