The Depot Restaurant - Seaview features casual fine dining offering a Chef's Table to watch owner Chef Michael Lalewicz perform his magic from a display kitchen. The covered heated deck adds outdoor seating. A northwest and international wine list offers 16 wines by the glass, five microbrews and a hard cider on-tap. This 132 year old train station from the peninsula's Clamshell Railroad feels like a French Bistro especially when seated at the 9 seat counter reminding one of the Orient Express. Northwest Palate claims "Lalewicz has food angels in the kitchen" and food writer Gerry Frank of the Oregonian declares "the Depot is one of the best Dinner Houses in the Northwest"

The Depot is our place to go for special occasions. It is consistently wonderful. It has the best service, the best setting and the most awesome food. The special ribeye steak is unbelievable and Chef Michael grills it to absolute perfection. Never disappointed at The Depot! Worth every penny!

Well, I was really looking forward to treating my wife to a nice dinner on Mother's Day. Started off great. The Tai Calamari was the best we'd ever had. Highly recommend it. Then the bad news; after waiting for over an hour, we were told our dinner order never got put in, so it would be another long wait (they were really busy) so we left as we didn't want to leave our dog alone that much longer in our rental. Pretty disappointed. They did comp our drinks and the calamari, but disappointed.

Reliably excellent, best value at the mouth of the Columbia on either side for dinner. Front of the house manager Harold was very personable.

As always, food was fabulous and our waiter, Don, was great! We always ask for his table. We know he'll take good care of us. The Depot is our go-to place when we come to our beach house on the peninsula. The apps are so unique and delicious and the mains are mouth-watering and filling! Love this place!

Thoughtfully prepared cuisine. I had the clam pasta and it was perfection with generous amount of razor and steamers! Husband had the rockfish and was pleased. Excellent service and ambience made for a memorable anniversary dinner.

We loved the food, the welcome (conversation), and overall ambience of The Depot. We ate the steak (medium rare) and it was cooked to perfection + chicken (Parmesan I think) for the mains. We shared a desert and Brie Bites for our starter. In our opinion top quality at a reasonable price. Excellent

This is a very small restaurant and you may think you've missed it from the outside (it's a small red building.) However, don't give up. Once inside, you are in for a fabulous meal. We had the duck breast and the rack of lamb - both standard menu items, and each of us agreed we had never tasted better. (We eat out a lot, and have been to fine dining places in large cities, so have some places to compare.) Both sauces were appropriate for the meat, which was cooked exactly as requested. Our vegetables were probably in the garden earlier than that day, because they were so fresh and flavorful. Our server was friendly, but not overly so, and always available when we needed her. The wine list is extensive and well-curated. Our only regret is that we were just passing through and it's be a tough drive from our house to become regulars.

We come every year from Portland for my husband's birthday and have always been very impressed by this upscale, "boutique" restaurant. Our waitress could not have been nicer, very efficient and accommodating. We were able to view from out table Chef Jamie working his magic in the kitchen. The halibut with mushroom sauce was "to die for." Rob had the Thai scallops and loved them. We are looking forward to our next trip to the Depot.

For such a small establishment the food & service was amazing! We shared the Mango Scallops, sweet with a little touch of heat at the finish. Brie bites we great but the Apple Chutney was delightful. Our entree was the Halibut. Cooked to perfection with a crispy sear and moist flaky inside. We will definitely go again.

Food was good but service was poor. We were seated outside which we were ok with but abandoned. Little to no contact with our server (s). They did buy our 3 glasses of wine to compensate.After dinner was served we had no contact for the balance of the night. We had to leave and ask for our bill.

Had the duck breast on the regular menu and the "rib eye" special of the day. Both dishes were well-executed and absolutely mouth-watering. You can't tell from the unassuming exterior of the building. The inside is quaint and cosy. The decor was a little quirky for what I consider a high-end dining establishment as they had plastic easter egg table covers and cute Easter decorations. A shout-out to the very attentive waiter too!

Made a reservation showing up about 10 minutes early. Was greeted and seated immediately. Water served, drink ordered and served, menu in hand. Was served baguette toast and warm olive oil for dipping. Yum-o. About 10 minutes later I was eating steamer clams and French onion soup. It was DIVINE. I will be back!!! Be sure to make reservations because it’s a small place in high demand. Even in the off season.

My son and I visit the Depot twice a year and we are never disappointed. Our visit last night was outstanding as usual. The food was wonderful and it was warm and cozy in there on a chilly beach night. My son had the ribeye and I had the house salad with French onion soup. We always have the pot de creme for dessert. I always look forward to the next time we go.

My wife and I went for our anniversary, and we were not disappointed. I had the special, a seared cod, which was amazing. It reminded me of lobster the way it was cooked. My wife went with the crab mac and cheese which she also enjoyed. One thing I discovered upon arrival was they had a full bar which I did not see listed online. I should also like to say that the service is in no way lacking. We had at least 5 people checking on us during our dinner. Creme Brulee for dessert made a wonderful finish to a terrific night. We may have found our new favorite dinner destination when we go to the coast.

This restaurant was a delightful find. We were placed in an out of the west corner so the sound volume was very quiet. The waiters were very attentive and the food was divine. We were able to enjoy both outstanding local seafood and wines. This is a restaurant we’ll return to again for our special occasions.
