Whiskey by John Howie is the Eastside’s whiskey and craft cocktail destination for guests 21+ years old. The global selection of rare and well done whiskies has been thoroughly collected for the curious to the connoisseur by Whiskey’s in house curator, Tim Lodahl. The unique menu of delightful bar bites features new and favorite tastes crafted by proprietor John Howie and executive chef Jed Laprade.
Whiskey by John Howie is available for private events. This 1,420 square foot space - which can accommodate up to 84 people for private events - features rich, dark woods complemented by dark brick and gold accents that give the room a comfortable, stylish feel. Hundreds of rare and sought after whiskey titles elegantly adorn the main wall, just above Whiskey’s open kitchen space. The food was AMAZING so the service as well. HOWEVER, we found it a little ridiculous for them to charge us 20% of gratuity which was already included being the fact that the place was not busy at all, and it was just my wife and I. Also they charged us $16 for a “liquor tax” (my wife got some margarita) or at least that how we read it. All to say, they charged us ALMOST $40 extra!!! I would toally go there again, just don’t order an alcoholic drink!

Their whiskey of the month for May, Barrell Amburana Cask, was excellent. It was better than anything in the flight.

O.M.G! I loved it there, i went on a weekday quite late and its was such a vibe, i went for my birthday and the server was super nice and attentive. I’ll recommend it if you want to drink anything! And i mean everything but still want some solid food (food is so gooooood! The grits shrimp is 🤌🏾)on the side with a grown relax ambiance.

The food was ok. Nothing to go crazy over. Didn’t really like the steak. I had the sampler. The twice baked potato was good. I prob should of just went to el gauchos

We love the menu and the ambience. Wagyu nachos are a must have. Original JH has a great burger but I like the smash burger even better! Easier to eat, honestly. Yum…

A perfect evening out. The gentleman who greeted us at the door was so genuinely friendly, and it set the mood for the entire evening. Excellent cocktails, great hors d'oeuvres (beer-battered artichoke hearts), and excellent steaks that were so tender and flavorful that they didn't need any seasoning or sauce. A lovely stuffed potato as well. Lisa was a gracious and attentive server.

Overall experience was good. Drinks were great. I feel like the menu has gotten a lot smaller since I was there last. They need a few more items on the menu.
