Food was so delicious- never had French toast that way before and it was worth the trip alone! Everything was great, our server was awesome. The whiskey was very good too- such a fun concept! We will be back!

Great cocktails! Whiskey sour a bit small for the price is excellent , service was great! Super friendly staff and the food never disappoints , get the duck fat fries with cheese!

We LOVED Village Whiskey! The atmosphere was very relaxed and the food was delicious! The drinks were creative and everything was served beautifully. Our waitress was super knowledgeable. We had the best time!

While the food tasted good, our appetizer arrived and, before we had a chance to take two bites, our main course showed up. When I spoke with the manager about this, his reaction was to blame us for the issue: he asked whether we requested that the meal be “coursed”. I responded by saying we ordered the appetizer with our drinks and ordered the main course only after the drinks arrived, so by doing so that would show that we did expect two courses. While he took the appetizer off the bill, the fact that his reaction was to blame us was upsetting. I will never return.

We really enjoyed our meal at Village Whiskey. It is a great little bar/restaurant with a comfortable, relaxed vibe. The waitstaff are knowledgeable and friendly, especially Sergio! The Village Burger was perfectly cooked to order and the Green Tomato salad was delish. Happy hour drink specials are great. The whiskey selection is amazing and there are plenty of other options for the non-whiskey drinker.

Went to Village Whiskey for a co-worker happy hour. Sergio was wonderful!! Joseph was very accommodating and helpful with securing our team a personable great spot to hang out in! Everyone loved the food, the space and SERGIO!!

Food was good. Drinks were good. Waiter not so much. Paid more attention to the couple to our left getting 1 drink and splitting an app and the couple to our right that wasn’t drinking at all rather than us that ordered apps, dinner and several signature cocktails. He also overcharged us on the bill.

Wanted to come back here after first enjoying the place during my last Philly trip over ten years ago. However despite booking a reservation for the bar we were stuffed in the very back by the bathroom where the only ambience was looking at the supply closet. Service was slow, rude, and unhelpful. They recently took over the space next door and there was a lot of confusion about where we were supposed to check in, with the staff member who ended up being our waiter essentially telling us to go away when we first walked in. So disappointing

We come here frequently for burgers / drinks. During our most recent experience, we ordered “ice water” and the water brought was in a blue bottle. We thought maybe the team was just using old bottles of still water to bring tap to tables since so many other tables also had these on their tables. We didn’t say anything - our mistake. We were then charged $7 for the water. The waiter begrudgingly took this off our bill. I want to believe this was an innocent miscommunication. However, I’ve never seen 80% of tables in a Philadelphia restaurant order $7 bottled water (even at the highest end restaurants), so i wonder. We then split our check 2 ways evenly. One of us was charged 100% of the total bill and the other was charged 50%, so overcharged by 50%. Again this was fixed by the staff. Mistakes took a long time to correct in an already delayed service.

Maybe it was an off night but our server was very unfriendly and our food was average at best. We’ve been before and enjoyed it but probably won’t be back after our experience last night.

Not close to the convention center so keep that in mind. It's a pub type of place, nice but not outstanding, small. Food was good and tons of whiskey selections. Staff were excellent.

Had such a nice experience! We walked into the bar first (oops) but they led us next door where our table was ready and sat down immediately. I had the veggie burger, which was delicious... but once I saw The Village and VW Mac come out I was drooling!!! Definitely need to order a side of the duck fat fries! The Garces Rose Gold cocktail was amazing, I could've drank 10! Our waiter was great, very nice and attentive. All the staff was very friendly.

Disappointed! Had hi expectations but might have been one of the worst experiences I’ve had while traveling in 10 years. Can’t believe a celebrity chef would attach his name to this place.

It was recommended to go to this place and to get a burger. We were so excited. Then we got there. Burgers were well ( ordered mid-rare), waitress hardly tended to the table, drinks took forever to get.....bummer

While most of the food was good, the service could definitely be better, especially for a Jose Garces restaurant. We waited over an hour for drinks, which finally came with our entrees. We were asked to place our entire order, which included drinks, appetizers and our entrees, when the waiter first showed up which was about 45 minutes after we first sat down. I don't know if they were understaffed, but it was not good service. While I had an outstanding BLT, my husband's fried chicken sandwich was clearly over cooked and a bit charred. I was surprised they served it to him. So it was an uneven experience. We would go back if we had no time constraints and only were interested in appetizers and drinks. But we're in no rush to go back.

Small place, delicious food. Little dim so if you have trouble seeing at all you’ll need your flashlight for the menu 😂 Not cheap, but it felt like we got what we were paying for. Definitely recommend it!

AMAZING food! Service was a little slow… took a while to even get drink orders in and didn’t get our food until we had been sitting for an hour already. That being said, the food saved the day.

We came for restaurant week on a Friday and it was not very crowded at all. The drinks were well made, great appearance and tasty. The server was helpful and nice. The shrimp appetizer I chose was was fried and could have bounced hard on the table if thrown-appearance unappealing, overcooked and tough and tasteless-probably made hours ago and microwaved to re-heat. The burger was well made and tasty-very juicy and soaked the roll making it pretty messy. I prefer a char grilled flavor, but that's my own preference. The fries were nice...but that's fries for Restaurant Week??? The peanut butter dessert had obviously been made early and then served frozen- took a bit to defrost and taste the chocolate and caramel flavors. Overall, pretty place, but not best choice for Restaurant Week.

The environment of the restaurant is great with great service! The drinks are way over priced for what you get and the food is not even worth the price. All food we had was over cooked fried and you couldn’t tell the difference between fried shrimp or fried chicken. Our sandwich was supposed to have smoke prov cheese but it didn’t and the meat board 👎🏼. Disappointed and will not be returning. Found a gem the next day called Craftmans Row Saloon must visit. Wish we found this place first.

I went in for Restaurant Week and got food to go. I sat at the bar, had an appetizer and a beverage while waiting. I received my food and went home. There were no fries with either of our burgers. This was disappointed. All other food was good.

First time diner and food and service were good. Ordered Village Burger and Cobb Salad. Both were yummy. Atmosphere is dark and loud depending on the number of diners.
