Water Wheel Tavern is an historic Bucks County landmark originally built in 1714 by John Dyer, an English Quaker. It existed for centuries as a water wheel driven grist mill, and later hosted both a post office and a general store. The mill was transformed into an inn and tavern with the repeal of prohibition in 1933.

Now, after an extensive industrial chic renovation, we invite you to experience our comfortable ambiance, diverse menu and hard working professional staff!

Water Wheel Tavern never fails to impress and feels like a second home every time I visit. During my recent dinner, I experienced exceptional service and a memorable evening, thanks to the wonderful staff. The bartender, Pat, crafted a custom-made martini that was simply out of this world. Featuring muddled mint, cucumber, and vodka, it was refreshing and perfectly balanced—a true testament to Pat's mixology skills. Our server, Meredith, went above and beyond to ensure we felt completely at ease with our choices. She was incredibly knowledgeable, helping us navigate the menu and decide whether to take advantage of the enticing happy hour options. Her friendly demeanor and attentiveness made our dining experience truly enjoyable. It was also heartwarming to see familiar faces—Harry and David, servers we've had in the past, stopped by our table to say hello. Their warm greetings added a personal touch that made us feel like part of the Water Wheel Tavern family. Dining at Water Wheel Tavern is always a delightful experience, thanks to its exceptional staff and welcoming atmosphere. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Have not been to this restaurant for many years. We had a wonderful server named Dave. His knowledge of the restaurant and food selections were outstanding. Can't say enough about him. My husband had the fish n chips he traded up to the sweet potato fries ' I had the airline chicken it was excellent.

$18 for one generic cocktail was a ridiculous price fir thus particular venue. French dip sandwich was flavorless and gristley meat.

Nice time. Food was excellent (salmon BLT, pulled pork burger, cheese steak egg rolls). Great value and service was amazing.

Chose Water Wheel because Facebook friend frequents there. Many years and couple of owners since I was last there. It did not disappoint my expectations.

Four of us had dinner. Three meals were great. One person had the beef, it was a special. It was so tough it was hard to cut it with a steak knife. Disappointing but overall I will eat there again. Waitress said she would tell the kitchen, whatever that’s worth.

We love the Water Wheel Tavern. Always great food, good service and nice ambience. Definitely one of our ‘go to’ places.

we were seated in the main dining room as soon as we arrived for our Sunday brunch. Our server asked us immediately what we wanted to drink. our food arrived in a very timely manner and exactly as we ordered it. 3 of the meals were quite good, but the 3 egg omelette was a bit dry. must say our server(s) were on top of their game.
