This was our first visit to Bellefonte and we drove from 45 minutes away. In the car on the way there, I received an email from Open Table asking me to rate my dining experience, despite the fact that my reservation wasn't for another hour. When we arrived, they had no reservation for us, despite my having received an email confirmation when I made it (which I showed them). They either gave our table to someone else, or marked the reservation closed before we arrived (which prompted the review email), because the table we requested was no longer available. We were seated adjacent to the room where the band we went to see was performing. The door to the bar was directly behind us and there was one particular extremely loud person who was hard to ignore and unfortunately she was there —and extremely vocal with obnoxiously loud outbursts and laughing— throughout the band's performance so that was both distracting and disappointing. The food was very good, especially the black bean soup and the grilled cheese. The ceiling fan over our heads was on high and I became uncomfortably cold as the evening progressed, but when I finally asked the server to turn it down since we were the only ones in that room, she happily did so. Overall it was an enjoyable evening. The food, wine and cold brew coffee were good. The server was friendly and attentive. The music was great and the atmosphere was welcoming and eclectic (minus the drunk woman). We will definitely be back and hopefully have better luck with our reservation next time. We attended on a Wednesday night and the on-street parking was not a problem though it might be more of an issue on weekends.

I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at Bellefonte Cafe. It's a super friendly atmosphere with excellent food! I sat on the porch on a lovely evening enjoying my wine and excellent entree of shrimp over grits!

It was a great place for a non formal work meeting. The food (as always) was excellent. It was a cloudy rainy day and we all opted for the grilled cheese and soup. Nothing but positive reviews all around.

First visit back since the new owners took over, we unfortunately visited on Open Mic Night, it was quite loud. It’s a small room which amplifies anyway, coupled with the difficulty the performers were having with the amp. Having a conversation was impossible. Outside eating was not an option given the weather. Server was great, however the pulled pork was dry and likely re-heated, as was the salmon on the Caesar salad, everything came out very quickly. They were somehow out of the crab cake sandwich. If you intend on talking to your dinner companion, choose your evening wisely.

Crabcake was excellent. Bean and ham was great. The Big Pig was so filling. The extra salad was probably the best I’ve ever had. Music as always is a great bonus. Would recommend this place to anyone. Top notch.

Think kind of funky or, better yet, aging hippie. Fun menu with really interesting items. You can enjoy Moroccan delights or North Carolina BBQ. I know, I had both!

Alyssa was our waitress and she was fabulous. Also the food was oustanding. My wife and I had brunch and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will be back ASAP!
