not sure why no bean sprouts,or shrimp appetizer?slow on refills,chef not to friendly.best fried rice so i will always go back.

My family met there for dinner. It was my first time at Shogun. We sat in a private booth. It was nice, quiet (er) and clean. We ordered sushi all around. The sushi my husband ordered was deep fried, underdone and very greasy. It looked like it. I ordered the yakasoba, which was good but the Nigiri was not a good cut at all. It was stringy and very hard to chew. Service was okay. They were rushing and not one server made eye contact, which felt odd. I’m thinking it may be a better place for lunch when it’s not so busy?

Our reservation was secured. It was at 7 pm. We were seated at 7:15 and didn’t get drinks until 8 pm. Finally got dinner at 8:20 pm

Excellent food. Long wait to get menus or drink orders (like 15 minutes). Cook wasn’t entertaining with out table but was very energetic with another table so that made us wonder why the different treatment. expensive.

This restaurant never disappoints. The drinks are great, no holding back on the alcohol! The service is the best around. They always make you feel valued and welcome. I love the chefs, they have great personalities and are masters of the hibachi cooking. Just remember to tip the chef also!

Highly disappointed in our experience here, especially given how much the bill came out to… never was greeted when we came in, had to go find someone to inquire about the reservation we made, finally got sat at a table, waited another 15 minutes without menus, my husband had to finally go ask for menus. Service was slow & very poor, especially since it was not busy (maybe 8 other guests in the restaurant). We didn’t get the “wow factor” that we specifically came here for. Small portions & our sushi was warm. After our meal was done we had to go find someone to get our bill. Will not be returning or recommending to anyone.

The containers they give you for the dipping sauces are WAY TOO SMALL, we had to keep bothering the chef to refill ours while he was cooking. It was embarrassing.

We almost always pick Shogun for birthday dinners. The food is great, the cooking is fun, and the staff is awesome.

We had so much fun and everyone agreed the food was delicious! Huge portions (I always take half home!) and the nicest employees and owners! We only had one issue with a server that may have still been in training, but we had 1 person order a daiquiri and even after he came back and we all reiterated multiple times our drink orders he still got the daiquiri order wrong. Other than that a great evening!

In a nutshell, they forgot about us. It took over an hour to get seated, we had NO server for our table (a cook had to come take our food order and we had to go to the bar ourselves for drinks) AND the bill was wrong.

Had Hibachi and it was terrible. Never got our soup or salad, the chef was unorganized and not skilled. This was the worse restaurant experience I've ever had. The owner, when approached about our missing food and slow service, said we should pay now.

Took over 30 minutes for anyone to come and see us, then they forgot to give us the opening soup and salad. Then the food portions where very very small considering the cost. To top it off, they lost our bill............we sat for nearly 40 minutes after our meal was done waiting. It wasn't until one of us got up and asked, can we have our bill so we can leave? Then they had to go over the entire table again to ask what we got. Just a mess, sad really Shogun has really gone down hill. Will not be returning any time soon!!!!

We came for my daughter’s birthday. Twice now we have booked a reservation and when we walked in, they didn’t have us listed and then scolded us for not booking ahead of time because they “fill up quickly and won’t have room for us next time”, even though both times there’s only been 2 tables full both times that we have gone. Then, after my husband had paid I looked at the bill and noticed that they charged me $42 for a kids steak which was the same price as my steak and shrimp. She didn’t even get the soup or salad, either. 😑 I hate to say it, but we won’t be back.

Absolutely terrible experience. Owners and chefs were arguing with guests. We had a reservation at 6:30pm and didn't get seated until 7pm, we then had to wait 30 minutes to order and another hour for the chef to come with the food to cook at the table. We specified we had a GF guest and they kept forgetting to use GF soy sauce. If we weren't watching the chef cook and correct him she would have had to go to the hospital. The food steak was undercooked and my lobster was incredibly overcooked. When the check came, the server dropped my card and it slid across the restaurant, she didn’t even notice. She had to bring the bill over 3 times because she kept bringing the wrong one.

Server organization could use some work but all in all this is the place to go if you are looking for a new and fun dining experience. Food was yummy and fresh as well!

Did not live up to expectations. Food and service here used to be exemplary but that’s not the case anymore. All the sauces have been water down to where they wish. No taste to them. The soup tasted like water. The salad dressing had no flavor. Do you waiter was wearing a baseball cap. They were only two tables on a Sunday night, and no reservations for the rest of the night. The cook was adequate, but not the standard of which they used to be famous for. The food cooked on the Tappan was done perfectly. Prices have doubled. The quality has dropped off considerably. Would not recommend it.

The show was great and it was a good environment. The food looked really good, but didn’t have a lot of flavor. I had steak and shrimp and there was no num num sauce available, and only a mustard and a ginger sauce that I did not like.

If you have a reservation, your night goes much smoother. Definitely glad we did that! GREAT people with a real family atmosphere and good energy. Our chef was so funny and very engaging. The food was really good and we were happy with everything we ordered! Which is really a tall order with our group of 8. Great value for the food. They seemed a little disorganized when we first arrived, but that could have been due to people showing up without reservations.

They were very under staffed. We waited 2 hours before we had a chef to cook for us. We had to go get our own drinks. The staff that was there was friendly but unable to service the people. The owners did nothing to compensate for the unacceptable wait times.

We booked a Hibachi table for 2 we were seated with 8 other diners at first everything seemed to be ok all other tables were full but there was only two Hibachi chefs for the whole restaurant with the servers was utter chaos the chef called for white rice 4 times and did not get any we got around of drinks and they barely got to the table the food was not up to par for what we knew in the past from the Shogun they are gravely under staffed and I think this was the whole problem the table next to us got up and left after about 45 minutes not very good for the owners we have decided that there are other places in town and next time it will be Anthony's for us sorry Shogun.

This was my first time in this new location, and I was disappointed. It was not cozy. It smelled awful (I couldn’t tell what it was, but it was unpleasant.) The food didn’t taste fresh and flavorful probably due to the poor quality of cheap oil and butter they use. The rag they use to clean the hot plate is stinky and dirty. On the bright side - the lady server was very nice and did everything well. The cook was entertaining and did his job okay. But this alone won’t make me come back.

A very inexperienced hostess/waitress detracted from the overall impression we took away from this expensive meal. She had no idea of what was on the menu, brought the check when we had just started eating and then stood and waited for me to pay it. I’m sure it was not totally her fault but the old Shogun was much better managed.

Great fun place to eat. A show and great food! You won't be disappointed, the service was great and the fun of having it cooked in front of you is lots of fun! It's a crowd pleaser for the young and old alike!

We made a reservation for 730. When we arrived, no one acknowledged us for about 15 minutes. Then one woman who look like she was running the entire restaurant and taking everyone’s orders greeted us. She was very kind and sweet, but just not capable of doing all of the work alone, we sat at the hibachi table and had a really good chef entertain us but the food was good not great. He was worth the visit for entertainment purposes, but everybody else in the service portion was disappointing. We ordered a bottle of red wine and the same woman who greeted us at the door, only came with one glass. I waters were not refilled until our chef had to go find her to tell her to come and refill them. I know they’re in a situation where they’re trying to rebuild and they’re having a difficult time finding good help after Covid but I’m only leaving an honest review , because in today’s world, going out to dinner is supposed to be special and worth the money, don’t get me wrong, it was not a horrible experience. We still had a lot of fun, and the steak was great, but they definitely need help and that poor old lady cannot do it all by herself. And there was only about 15 people in the restaurant at total.

If you like the loud chopping fire table show and are ok with mediocre food then it’s your place. I went for sushi and it was not good very small thin pieces of fish not worth the money. I love sushi and eat it a lot this was to worst. Service was poor

I came in with no expectations, but was looking to have a good night. I was met with poor service from the get go and was informed they didn't even know about my reservation. I ended up spending my anniversary dinner at a table with a large family of 6 and it was very uncomfortable. Than they kept making a bad joke about water being free and was on him. Than it took over and hour for them to get to the cooking and came out missing ingredients and some of the vegetables were precut and frozen. He over cooked alot of the meats and then to top the whole thing off he didn't season the steak and we didn't get our white rice we ordered till the rest was already done and it had been 2 hours by that time. All in all wold not ever recomend.
