A restaurant designed to casually spoil you with great locally sourced oysters and other fabled bounty from the region such as lamb, mushrooms, fresh produce, orchard fruits & berries, and the list goes on. We pair this with our favorite wines from near and far + fun cocktails - all alongside comforting favorites for everyone. (Our menu does include items for those whom might not love shellfish or seafood as much as we do.)
+Our view is of the ferry coming in and leaving right on the waterfront of Friday Harbor.
+ Our outside seating is first-come first serve and is communal-style seating.
+We are a tiny restaurant, so we are deeply impacted when you don't show up for your reservations or cancel last minute, please keep this in mind.
+No dogs inside or on the patio.

It started out a great evening celebrating my friends birthday. Unfortunately, her meal was forgotten and we had to wait 30 min after other three meals were delivered, for the potato waffle and crab. It was mentioned it would be removed from our bill, but wasn’t, and instead, two oysters were credited ($10). The waitress admitted to forgetting to put the meal in and seemed annoyed at our table that my friend was starving—ferries were late, eating dinner at 7:00, etc. it just wasn’t a great night, service wise, and we were made to feel like we did something wrong.

Great San Juan Island restaurant, loved the island vibe, delicious food and yummy cocktails, friendly staff. I would highly recommend.

The food, service, atmosphere, and environment are top notch. I had a great experience and a great meal. This is a small, intimate setting, don’t try to go without a reservation, especially during summer hours.

This restaurant was such a great option. The food was simply amazing, as was the service. We tried an assortment of items, including the oysters (duh), the lingcod and dungeness crap dip (get extra hungarian peppers), the waffles, the lamb (outstanding) and pork chop. I also had the "Smokeless Cigar" beverage, which was also excellent. A tryly enjoyable dining experience here on the Island.

Our first dining experience here was wonderful! Excellent choice of wines and specialty cocktails and a somewhat small but perfect menu. I was able to find items compatible to my vegan diet by omitting the cheese from dishes and everything was fresh, artisanal and delicious! There is even a vegan dessert option. We can’t wait to go back - often!

The food was fantastic (and we didn't even have the oysters). Very small but friendly dining area. Only complaint might be lack of more than a few tables (the rest is bar type seating) and the lighting was a bit bright and harsh for evening, some dimmers would go a long way. Maybe some art or decor for all the blank walls. Overall, great place

I love Oystertale, always have. The food is exceptional. The wine list and cocktail selections are as well. And the service could not be better. This tiny little place is social, beautiful, and one of my favorite places to go on the island, whether for wine tasting or dinner. I highly recommend.
