Osteria Saporino is a family owned and operated Italian BYOB in Huntingdon Valley. We offer our unique take on the rich Italian and Mediterranean culinary traditions. While respecting the classics we take the opportunity to bring out innovative dishes inspired from local, fresh and natural ingredients.

The food was excellent but the service was lacking. We had reservations for two people at 7:15pm and it took about 10 minutes to actually get seated. Once seated, we were provided menus and choice of water, but were not offered wine glasses (bottles sitting on the table), if we wanted our wine bottles opened or even an ice bucket for our wine. At first we thought that maybe that person cannot assist with opening the wine until I saw a wine opener in his pocket when he was walking by. While we waited for our waiter/waitress (approximately 8-9 minutes) another couple got seated next to us. When we eventually see the waitress coming our way she bypasses our table and goes to the couple next to us first even though they were seated after us (about 5 minutes after us). I was really disappointed with the service this time.

I booked an outdoor table. That is the main reason we went to this restaurant because it was a beautiful spring evening and we wanted to dine outdoors. OpenTable confirmed we reserved outdoor seating. However, the restaurant would not abide by that. We sat inside where it was very noisy and has a mediocre ambience. Food was decent. It was busy and service was ok. Overall we were disappointed, primarily due to the restaurant’s unwillingness to abide by our outdoor reservations.

As usual, our dinner was delicious. We have never been disappointed here. I had angel hair with crabmeat. The sauce was excellent, as was the crabmeat. My husband had pasta with shrimp and scallops which were great. We love the Caesar salad and the crusty Italian bread.We love that it’s a BYOB. The service is always good too.

Everything was excellent…..except the noise level. It was crazy noisy. Too many large groups for sure. It was very difficult to hear the couple who was with us at our table. Our server had to speak very loudly for the specials and it was very difficult to have any dinner conversation amongst the four of us. We have been here before a number of times and think the food is exceptionally well prepared and the service has always been excellent. This time, though, the noise level made for a very uncomfortable dining experience.

A must!!! A perfect night!!! A BYOB restaurant. The amazing thing was that the server chilled our bottle in an ice bucket but also made several trips to our table to offered to fill our glasses. Not once did we pour our own wine. Superb service!!! The food was delicious and nicely presented. We’ll be back!!!!
