It was disheartening to see others who were celebrating something be brought dessert with a candle yet we were not. The hostess made a point of noticing we were celebrating and said she'd let out server know but the server never acknowledged it. She seemed a bit lack-luster in general. She did a good enough job but was more just a body than any sort of personality. That said, everything else was spectacular!

Went to Momiji on a Wednesday after at 430pm. It was a great sunny day, had a beer outside first beforehand which was splendid. The staff was friendly and brought us to our table. Food came out timely and was great, I look forward to going again.

This place is painfully loud, which makes it so hard to enjoy the incredible food and excellent cocktails.

The sushi is fantastic. My only criticism is that our experience was rushed. They warned us ahead of time that we’d have two hours before having to give up the table, which is fine. However, everything came out so fast and was cleared so fast that after 45 minutes we were done. The coast for a 45-minute dinner experience didn’t match for me.

Food was outstanding quality! The portions were so much bigger than expected, from apps to sushi rolls they were all a great size to share around the table! Restaurant is gorgeous, but be prepared for how loud it gets inside! Staff was super attentive and nice!

We made a reservation based on a recommendation from a friend who lived in Seattle for 10 years because we wanted to pick and choose our fare as opposed to having the traditional omakase (also, trust me, you need a reservation because the place is packed, even as early as 4:30pm on a Friday) - and whooooo, hooo, let me tell you, this place is next level! Service is awesome, we had Amira take care of us and she was so sweet, prompt and knowledgeable - she even recommended a bar for us to hit on the walk home which was awesome (but I'll save that review for another time). Sake list was on point, we got a taster flight based of Amira's recommendation and of course it was top notch. And the food, wowwoweeee! So fresh, so well put together, just all around a perfect 10+ experience. If you want amazing sushi, hit up Momiji, you won't be disappointed.

An excellent first time dinner at Momiji Capitol Hill. The food was delicious. In addition to a wonderful mackerel sampler. we had Asari miso soup (the clams were perfectly done) and omakase sushi. Our only knock on our experience was the noise level. Hard surfaces and several large parties made conversation challenging at times and even had our server apologizing for the noise level without us having said anything about it. This won’t keep us from coming back although perhaps not on a Saturday night.

Momiji has not aged well. It looks like a shabby version of what it looked like years ago. Our first impression was of an indifferent host who barely looked up. Then we were informed we only had an hour and a half to dine, which turned out to not be a problem because the waiter rushed us to order and the food came before we could even finish our cocktails. Really disappointing for a meal that cost nearly $200.

Excellent food, excellent ambiance. The happy hour menu is where its at!! They just rearranged their back room so the servers were having a little bit of a tough time in identifying tables, but they more than made up for it in kindness, attentiveness, and excellent service otherwise.

Momiji is typically great everyday aside Friday and Saturday. We have dined multiple times there and every time aside this past one was great. From the start the host I’m guessing the lead was rude and dismissive after “checking us in” stated to leave the area and to wait out in the cold. Mind you we are now 15 minutes past our reservation when they hold all tables to 1 hour an 45 minutes. We finally got sat and the entire experience we saw more of the busser than our server. We waited an additional 10 minutes before the server came around so waiting a total of 30 minutes past our reservation time between sitting and someone actually coming to take orders. They then informed us half the items we wanted were out. Out on a Friday night that being the busiest days in dining seems odd. We left after an hour when rudely being asked to get up. So our allotted time they allow we got 45 minutes and not even a thank you for coming in. Needless to say go on an off day and when they clearly have time for you.

This is a great place for sushi with a wonderful atmosphere. The main dining areas are situated around a beautiful courtyard garden that is hidden from the street, making it a wonderful surprise for first time visitors.

We had an overall pleasant first experience here, but started out with a rude hostess that had a bit of attitude when informing us of the time limit. I understand there’s a limit and didn’t care, but she said it in a tone like we should not break the rules and waited for us to say something in response. Kinda weird. Our server was excellent and the sushi was really delicious. Enviroment was very loud overall and took away from the calm ambiance it is going for. Will go back for the sushi!

A very good meal with a very rude start. We were on time but had to wait 15 minutes for our table, and they were not apologetic and were very dismissive. The hostess who finally came to take us to our table? The first thing she says to us “For a table for two we have a limit of 1 1/2 hours.” We probably should have walked out right there and then. Unprofessional and rude!

Went there for dinner with my husband on a Wednesday in January. Even at that time I felt rushed through the whole dinner. We had cocktails and still were finished in less than an hour. So this may be a good choice if time is tight but it’s probably not the place to go for a good date nite, to relax or enjoy good company.

All around wonderful dining experience! Wonderful menu with amazing choices. Our server was delightful and ambience was lovely. We had the tempura and 4 different sushi rolls. All were delicious! We definitely want to come back and try other things.

Momiji is one of our fav restaurants! It was delicious, as usual. However, we always get the king crab ceviche (fka “crab tower”) and this time there was almost no ponzu on it, which left it pretty bland. Don’t get me wrong, crab and avocado is delicious but without the ponzu it falls flat. For the price, a bit disappointing. We will still be back :)
