Du Mamma Melina, le Seattle Times du 26 août 2010 a écrit : « Les trois frères Varchetta ont si soigneusement repensé le Mamma Melina qui vient de déménager, que même leur propre mère ne reconnaîtrait pas le lieu, alors qu'il a été baptisé en son nom ». Le nouveau Mamma Melina, qui occupe l'extrémité sud de la résidence Corydon, près du centre commercial University Village, compte des points communs avec l'élégant restaurant en centre-ville des frères Varchetta, le Barolo. Un jour d'été, vous croiriez qu'il s'agit de Rodeo Drive et non du sentier Burke-Gilman qui longe la vaste terrasse à l'avant du restaurant. Parmi les bassins peu profonds, ornés de globes d'argent qui étincellent au soleil, vous dégusterez, des lunettes surdimensionnées sur le nez, un verre de vin dans des canapés agrémentés de coussins moelleux, ou des pâtes faites maison à une table recouverte d'une nappe blanche, sous des parasols en toile.Et le tout, à un prix raisonnable par rapport à la qualité de la cuisine.

Pizza napoletana: Authentic Neapolitan pizzas are made with San Marzano tomatoes grown on the volcanic plains to the south of Mount Vesuvius, and fresh Mozzarella. The genuine Neapolitan pizza dough consists of wheat flour, natural yeast, salt and water. For proper results, strong flour with high protein content must be used. After the rising process, the dough must be formed by hand and may be no more than 3 mm (⅛ in) thick. The pizza must be baked for 60–90 seconds in a 485 °C (905 °F) stone oven with wood fire. When cooked, it should be slightly crispy on the rim, tender and fragrant in the middle. We usually like this restaurant and have been here many times. However, last night the food was NOT good - at all. The vegetables with the chicken dish were literally soggy and I sent it all back. The special pizza was just okay.

First, shoutout to the excellent waiter who made sure we got our orders in before the large group seated nearby. My risotto with sautéed veggies was perfectly prepared, with plenty to take home for another meal. Caesar salad was made with very crispy romaine and a light touch on the dressing. The server took the trouble to ask if I wanted anchovies. We chose to eat indoors but they offered outdoor seating. Perhaps another day we’ll take advantage of that. All in all a nice experience.

Went for lunch with my adult grandson. My rigatoni dish and his lasagna were both very good. Mine was part of their "choose two" lunch option. You pick a starter or a desert; and an entree for $22. Good deal.

Great food, great cocktails, great service.. what else could you say? We had great time with my family today. We had calamari and antipasto misto as appetizer. Had Linguine Di Mare, margherlta pizza and beet salad (Insalata Di Barbabietole, Caprino E Noci). All tasted delicious! We had three cocktails; black Manhattan, 25th Manhattan and Paper Plane. Gently made.. Thank you for the good time. Will definitely come back!

This restaurant is consistently good, great food and service On this visit they were very busy and I messed up our reservation. They still managed to get us a table rather quickly and that was truly appreciated !!

Def order a pizza. The steelhead is great, calamari great. Classy ambience with very friendly staff and accommodating kitchen. When we visit we always eat here, a place to feel at home & eat great food!

Such a gem! The fresh steelhead was beautifully prepared with a moist in center and crispy skin. The Caesar is so subtly delicious - found out it had 10 ingredients ! We ventured to have a GF pizza and hands down is the City’s best in the region. We will be back soon!

This is a favorite restaurant for dropping in or for special occasions. The menu is excellent and the atmosphere lively. This time our server was AWOL. Nowhere to be found. Disappointing and not the norm.

We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu- two great salads, halibut, and the chicken parmigiana. The halibut was outstanding, the Parma was both delicious and huge and came with pasta as well as veggies. Dessert- olive cake was very good, chocolate lava cake was great. Overall, a great dinner with excellent service (like all the many other times I’ve eaten here).

Outstanding meal. Wait staff was fabulous. Only suggestion was that they were trying to clear plates while some in party were finishing their meal…may want to train to clear when all are finished. Otherwise, no complaints -

We made a reservation and the table they sat us at felt like a walkway with people constantly walking between the tables. We moved to the bar and it was better. Our server was nice and the pizza was okay.

Hello! I apologize that your initial table seating was not ideal. It looks like you had originally booked an outdoor table, and later switched to an indoor table. We were quite booked up inside last night, so when changes like that are made, we have may have limited table options to accommodate the switch to indoor. I double checked and it looks like when you arrived, that table was the only 2 top ready and available due to the other indoor reservations previously made. I am glad that we were able to move you into a better table in our lounge, but I hope that helps to explain the table selection that was made. Thank you for dining with us, and have a great weekend!

A quiet lunch at Noon with friend on a Wednesday. Bery personalized service. I had a Caeser Salad with Steelhead and my friend had lasagna, both were wonderful. Had a reservation but didn’t beed it at all.

Every bit of the food experience was just that, a full experience. The ambiance has a nice warm aura that makes you feel relaxed; the music choices aid in creating this feel. The food was really really great! Highly recommend the lasagna and tiramisu. The service was impeccable often having near flawless timing with food. The drinks and wine options are also stellar. I really enjoyed it all! Will definitely be back.

I liked everything about this place. The parking garage was a bonus, but it would be helpful if their website mentioned there is a door directly from the garage into the restaurant since I ended up walking outside in the rain. My only disappointment was that they didn't save a booth for me as I requested on the reservation.

Nice folks, food ok. 30 min between being seated and drinks arriving - 15 to order initial drinks, and 15 to arrive. They were apologetic and hustled the actual dinner order after that, which we appreciated. Also not worth the $$ overall. The employees were very earnest and kind.

My four friends and I can hardly recall a better lunch experience. The food was wonderful, beyond wonderful. The service discrete and helpful: Megan is a pro. We all agreed that we will return here again. You should do the same.

We connected with friends over a long leisurely and delicious dinner. We'd been to Mamma Melina's for the wonderful happy hour but it had been a while since we dined in the dining room. No regrets except - why didn't we do it sooner!

Restaurant did not care we and other patrons were still eating while staff hauled out dirty bar rugs in prep for closing, blowing out table candles across the restaurant and bringing in outdoor furniture stacking by a side entrance. All this happened just before 8:30pm. I get it that a restaurant needs to prep for closing, but the experience took a dive at that point. Solid waiter, nice staff!

We love the place but table was terrible. Super busy traffic corridor really spoiled the experience. Staff is awesome, foods great, need to lose that table.

We had a lovely birthday dinner with a group of 7. The service was excellent and we felt we had a great private space and were expertly cared for. The meals were all delicious and perfectly presented. Love it!
