For generations, molinos have served as celebrations of the most honored culinary tradition in our Mexican culture — nixtamal! Translated from the native Nahuatl, nixtamal is the production of corn dough, or masa.

The molineros’ millenary artisan techniques in the nixtamal process are the foundation for creating all great antojitos — the craveable snacks sold by street vendors all across Mexico.

Our mission is to preserve and promote the beautiful, bio diverse treasure that is heirloom, non-GMO Mexican corn. We work directly with local, small-scale farmers to ensure our grains are sourced in an ethical and sustainable way. Our authentic, fresh, small-batch recipes allow you to experience your favorite Mexican dishes the way they were meant to be — the same way we enjoyed them as kids!

Great food and service. The shortribs and seafood stew were excellent along with guacamole and chips. Service was friendly too.

Love the food, but the experience here is always so sub par. First, the menu is not descriptive, and the servers are not particularly helpful on recommendations either. So this leads to me spending 15 minutes on yelp and google during the ordering process just to figure out what everything is. It’s not just the case of it being in Spanish, as I speak some Spanish and grew up with a lot of Mexican food. Menu items are just names of dishes with no explanation of what comes with them (i.e. is there a salsa? Does it come with rice and beans, or should I order those separately?) You can only know the answers by asking extremely specific questions to the servers or looking up photos on google or yelp. And the atmosphere is extremely sterile for a Mexican restaurant, not warm or lively. Again, I do love the food, but after a few tries, I’m not sure I’d come back unless they made some changes minimally to the menu description. I will stick with Maiz in Pike Place Market for now.

Elevated yet authentic… some of the best Mexican I’ve ever had. Don’t miss the short rib, elotes risotto or mole duck.

I'll start off by saying that this was not an "out of this world" eatery, rather it is a good Mexican food eatery. I say this because expectations lead to whether you had a good or bad experience. Also, we all have different tastes. Our food was tasty for where we are on the globe. Meaning, it could have had more spice and flavor (for my liking). The staff was attentive and friendly. The decor was precious. Our toddler enjoyed a quiet place to have dinner. The horchata tasted and was home made. I would totally come back on my next visit. Thank you!

Food was fantastic! Innovative and uncommon Mexican menu! We went there to celebrate my birthday. My wife had the Pike Place fish of the day, cooked with plantains. She has not had fish prepped this way before and she absolutely loved it! I had the Lamb Borrego. It was also a fantastic meal especially the lamb barbacoa’ it was crisped perfectly and the carmelized sections bring up a great hit to the palate. It was like a deconstructed burrito and you get to build it for each bite. It comes with tortilla with imbedded melted cheese. I didn’t even need the extra tortilla pieces they sent with it. I just wish the rice came with it and I didn’t have to order it separately. The dish is great with rice. Also could use more beans, which was in a tiny saucer. All said, their simple setting surprisingly turned out great food! We both want to come back soon to try the other menu items.

We had an outstanding brunch, food had the authentic Mexican flavor, our waiter was very helpful and diligent, definitely will come back again.

Exceptional chilaquiles. Quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. The asada ones are my favorite. A perfect coffee. And amazing decor-such a rad place.

Good food! Busy place. They were a little under staffed so there was a lag in service, but not a big deal unless you’re a dick about it. Would def go back and def recommend

Lovely brunch at Maiz Molina. It was very relaxing to sit at the counter to watch the culinary wizards in action in the kitchen. I didn’t feel like eggs and they were very kind to let me sub beans to go with my avocado tostada. The de olla was worth the 10 minute wait and was absolutely divine!
