Located in University City, Louie Louie is an American bistro with a French inspired menu offering seasonal, ingredient-inspired dishes based on a classical combination of flavors. House-made pastries and an extensive beverage program highlighting wines by the glass and bottle as well as seasonal specialty cocktails and craft beers add to the dining experience. The décor pays homage to Art Nouveau and European cafes with a touch of the 1970s. Traditional wood tones, reclaimed subway tiles, tried and true black and white marble stones as flooring and wainscoting and blue and buttery leathers, fabrics and patterns bring color and graphic identities to the space. The Lounge offers custom lux seating, perfect for gathering with friends for cocktails and snacks. Outdoor seating reminiscent of French cafes is the ideal spot for dining and people watching.

I was disappointed in Louie Louie. At 5:45 they were cleaning windows and dusting sills. The smell of window cleaner was over powering. Water was served in hot glasses and we asked for ice. It finally came the second time we asked. Onion soup came, without a soup spoon - we had to ask a passing waiter, because ours was among the missing. Waiter was uninspired and hard to find. Asked questions and got short answers. Overall the food was just ok. Onion soup was extremely salty, wife wanted a side mac and cheese for main - came with soup and was not hot, maybe warm temp is generous. Burger just ok. Ravioli with lobster - raves were undercooked with “raw sides” sauce was just ok - a few small pieces of chopped lobster, no big pieces - you needed to search. Fries good - soggy in bottom and wrapper was from another restaurant (?) maybe a sister restaurant? Over all a gave it a 3 being generous. We were really disappointed in the meals.

Dining for a second time here, and the food and drinks were very good. A busy night (concert across the street) made service somewhat slow. Drinks took a little too long to arrive and the crostini arrived at the end of the meal. One coffee was cold. Nevertheless, this is a reliable food venue and I will return.

Booked a last minute reservation for a Mother’s Day dinner and was so glad we did! The vibe was so warm and the ambience was beautiful. The staff were so attentive and outstanding. The kitchen messed up my order and the management offered us a crab salad to make up for the mistake. The food was amazing, will definitely be coming back!

Another lovely experience. So inviting. The food is wonderful. The service is outstanding. It was my birthday and anniversary and they made me(us ) feel like royalty. The Torchon of Foie Gras was delicious as was the Parisienne Gnocchi. Mmmmm. The Louie Vegan burger was a surprise delight - non of us are vegans and it was delicious and juicy! Destiny our server was wonderful.

Louie Louie has been a staple for me for years, but they've slowly transitioned the menu to have more bland and standard fare. While the service is still impeccable, and drinks are delicious, but due to the subpar menu selections this was likely my last visit.

We had a wonderful experience, from perfect drinks at the bar, to our delicious wine and meal. Keton (?) was incredibly attentive and knew the menu inside and out.

Really really disappointing food. Not much better than a chain restaurant….everything a little tasteless, the bread was like a rock. Just really expensive and unpleasant. The service was very slow. But the ambience is fun- and the location next to UPenn is excellent. But save your money, there are so many good restaurants in this area- go somewhere else.

This was a return visit after not having the best experience on our initial visit that was during a very busy time (graduation) and the staff and kitchen was overwhelmed I believe. The manager understood our concerns, that was not the food at all, and made sure if we retuned that we would hopefully have a better experience and followed that up with a personal invite to return. This was unexpected and indeed was a gesture that showed that the entire operation was concerned about making sure one received the service one expects. Well, they delivered 100% with everything perfect... the food was always good and the service also but the fact that they care about concerns expressed by a customer showed how this is a place to visit. Glad we went again and will again when in town.

After back to back medical appointments at Jefferson hospital my partner and I wanted to have a pleasant dinner. Patio dining at Louis Louis was our choice. Got parking right at the restaurant. Service was excellent. Menu was varied and had new dishes since our last visit. We left very happy diners.

The restaurant itself is beautiful and very cozy! Our waitress was AMAZING! Very attentive, caring, and dedicated. The food was very underwhelming, and not many options for brunch. Not to mention the kitchen took forever to make our food and by the time it all came out, the food was barely warm. Not very impressed.

I’d heard about it for a while, but living in CC it’s easy to allow yourself to stay in that area with so many close places to visit. Glad I finally decided to go to Louie Louie because it was a very pleasant experience. Everything was impeccable: our server was so sweet, all smiles and explaining the menu to us very kindly and patiently (I forgot her name, I’m sorry). The food tasted amazing, eggs Benedict can be pretty straight forward but also it’s kind of easy to mess up. The hollandaise sauce was SO good! I wanted to dip my fingers in the plate and have the sauce by itself (after finishing everything of couse). The waffles were delightful too, such a good balance in sweetness and so flavorful. I loved the mimosa kit, such good value and also fun mixing the different little juices. I felt like it gives “Parc” vibes, but not at all as overpriced and overhyped. I’m definitely going back, hopefully soon!

My experience was wonderful! The food was soooo delicious. I got the soup and oyster roll and I'll be thinking about those dishes for a long time. My waitress was lovely (I forget her name but she had beautiful freckles). Will definitely be back!

Incredible food, our server Dakohta was so lovely. The timing between dishes was perfect, and the atmosphere was beautiful. It is on the more expensive side, but is absolutely worth it for the experience. Thank you for starting off my best friends birthday trip with a bang!

The restaurant, food and service were amazing especially for the price. I had the halibut and my boyfriend had the burger with truffle fries! We had the creme brûlée for dessert! 10/10 recommend. We will definitely are coming back!!!!

This restaurant is so cute! The ambience feels elevated but not too stuffy. Perfect place for either a relaxed brunch or date night. The food was excellent and I can’t wait to come back and try more!
