Sleek decor, friendly staff. Certain areas of the space are much noisier than others. The mushroom truffle pizza is delicious as are all of the salads.

Good food but very, very noisy especially for a Tuesday night. Food came out in random order, with first course delayed until entrees ready. Waitress seemed annoyed even though we were clear about first course being the appetizers for the table.

The happy hour snacks and drinks are a good value. Ricotta board was a delicious starter to share. Our server, Maddie, was delightful - informative, friendly, efficient, and didn't rush us.

We were there for Mother's Day, the staff was doing there best, but they were set up to fail. It was packed and there was only 1 bartender...

Terrible experience! They put us in a storage area called a private room and we were constantly interrupted by staff coming in and out to get supplies out of closet in the private room.

The food was delicious, the atmosphere was nice, and the servers were friendly. It was a great place to host our Mother's Day lunch!

Food was delicious (husband got the lasagna; I got the Fire Favorite panini; Mom got lemon & clam linguini (something like that), and she and I split the spinach & goat cheese salad)! However, we were unprepared for HOW LOUD it was! Granted it was a Saturday night, many folks clearly out to celebrate Mother's Day a little early, BUT...we had to shout to hear each other. Didn't seem to be much around to muffle sound, e.g. no curtains, carpeting, cushioning, etc. Also, perhaps because staff were shorthanded, our waitress disappeared for a while so we had to flag down somebody else to get drink refills. Overall--highly recommend going, but maybe not on a holiday weekend if you don't want to have to yell and repeat yourself to your friends/family.

The salads and pizza are good, as is the wine selection. However, weekend dinners are way too loud. The restaurant should invest in some acoustic redesign because we could barely hear our friends at dinner: it was just too loud. It was also bizarre to be told when ordering that there would be a 2.9% fee if we used a credit card to pay and no fee if we used a debit card: a first for me at a dining establishment! Finally, the free-flow kitchen concept doesn't work: it makes no sense to bring one person's entree out while the rest of the party waits 10 minutes to get theirs.

We always enjoy dining at LaScala. The food is consistently good. Last night we were heavy on the appetizers. A great glass of Super Tuscan too. Sam always takes good care of us. She’s super!

My daughter and I had an early lunch at la Scala and were delighted with the whole experience, especially the artichoke appetizer. Our waitress was wonderful, pleasant and efficient.

30 minutes from the time we sat until we revived our first cocktail. Food stuck to folk In my roll and I couldn't get anyone to change it out. Sat there with my food in front of me for 15 minutes waiting for someone who I could connect eye contact with. Usually really good. Two poor experiences the last two times. Our server was busy, but not efficient.

Upon arrival we were unfortunately seated at the hottest table on the patio - we didn't ask to move however so that's on us, not the restaurant. After being seated however we noticed that one of the four fans on the patio was on and squeaking incredibly loud, the other diners around us were talking about how bothered they were with it and I agree - it was awful. We asked our waitress if they could turn that fan off (it was rotating very slow so no cooling benefit) and she immediately assured us that she would. 10-15 minutes later another waitress came buy and also expressed shock at how awful the sound was and again assured us that it would be turned off ASAP. It was not until dessert that it was turned off. The wait staff were friendly and the facility is super nice. The noise was really tough and aside from a delicious meatball trio appetizer the food was pretty lackluster. The pizza was pretty generic - not at all bad but not something to be known for. Would we go back? Yes probably but would be more discerning with what we ordered and where we let ourselves be seated

Everything was very nice for the most part, but as soon as the clock stuck 9:45PM we were asked to put in a desert order if we wanted it. VERY TACKY.....especially for a table of 4 spending near $350 that evening before the desert . Seriously..??

There must be something going on here. We went to Newtown Square location when it first opened but there were no reservations available after 4:30 so we went back to Villanova location. Newtown Square location was really good. Villanova location was really bad. Hopefully they fix it

The restaurant was very busy. The service was as good as it could have been since the server had many large parties. The food came out at all different times so while trying to be polite & wait for everyone to have their meal, the food got cold waiting f, it took over 15 minutes from my husband’s flavorless chicken piccata & my daughter’s Caesar salad with grilled shrimp, that’s not ok. We couldn’t talk to one another without yelling because it was so loud in the restaurant.

The noise level was almost unbearable. We were seated next to a very large party in the back room. I worked go back, but I would not sit at a table in the back.

Three diners. Each enjoyed their meal. I had pasta and peas which was Prepared to perfection. Generous portions and reasonably priced. Not too loud - dined Sunday at 5pm

Ricotta with honey was amazing! All our food was good, pizza especially! The noise level was really bad. Also our table was next to the door and there is no where for people to wait for tables so people were literally on top of us.

The food and service were very good. There is also a nice selection of wines. Big drawback for me was the noise level. Our seating was in the area adjacent to the bar area. Perhaps further away from the bar is a bit less noisy. May try again with request to be distanced from the bar area,

The staff seemed annoyed that we were there, even with a reservation and the restaurant mostly empty. Our server warned us food would come out as it was ready and not all together, but our food came out at one time and the pizzas were cold.

This is my second time visiting and the food was as good as it was my first visit. The staff is super friendly and courteous. Our waiter, Shane, was very attentive and patient. It’s a great place and I absolutely love the Happy Hour menu!

Food was real good and the place was nice. Food came out whenever they had it ready and it all together (15 min apart which is not acceptable), but otherwise a good dinner.

Waited forever for food to come out. Only 2/3 of us received food and server seemed unbothered by that fact. She was pleasant, just not real interested in the service component of her job. One person had the Mac and cheese with a Caesar salad. Both were good. Another person had the seafood fra diavolo. He seemed less enthusiastic.
