The Story of Josephine’s
The story of Josephine’s begins during our executive chef Daniel LeBoon’s childhood. At eight years old, working for his father’s catering company, Daniel discovered a passion for food. This love — and undeniable talent — saw him intern at Philadelphia’s prestigious Le Bec-Fin. He went on to work in Paris at the venerable Hotel Vernet working under the renowned chef’s Alain Solvere and Alain Ducasse. In 2004, Daniel purchased Josephine’s in Marietta and developed an extremely loyal following based on the combination of great food, great atmosphere and great hospitality. Although Josephine’s closed in 2011, the name and the experiences are fondly remembered by countless people.

We all had the special appetizer of lobster and escargot, it was amazing….one order was sufficient for two people. The swordfish was delicious and I would order it again, the scallops were the best ever. I would personally skip dessert, it was OK, but not a must. The waiter was absolutely fantastic. Always a great night out for dinner.

From the moment we walked in the door, we were treated like we were the only guests in the restaurant. Our server Zach was top-notch, knowledgeable and attentive. Our meals--scallops and halibut--were incredible. We also enjoyed cauliflower soup, antelope, and Caesar salad. Josephine's did not disappoint, and we will definitely return! This romantic spot is perfect for a special occasion.

The food is unbelievable! Both appetizers were extremely tasty. I had collosal shrimp cocktail...so huge I had to knife and fork them. Amazing flavor. My wife had the sake marinated Chilean Sea Bass app which melted in your mouth and had incredibly complex flavors. Entrees included salmon Oscar with a crab cake for me and lemon pepper barramundi with some sort of Indian inspired sauce for my wife. Everything was delicious with so many savory flavors I tried to slow down and enjoy every bite. Their crab cakes are OUT OF THIS WORLD! Neither of us had room for dessert, but of course we ordered some anyway. Judy had coconut mousse in a delicate chocolate shell with diced mango and pineapple. She said all the flavors were fantastic individually but she didn't care for the combo...she deconstructed it and enjoyed every bite. I had a lemon curd filled with blueberry jam and wrapped entirely in a toasted meringue with a side of blueberries and blueberry jelly. Fantastic! All this was paced beautifully by our attentive and friendly server. Great atmosphere with piano and bass music. We finished our meal and strolled into the Fulton minutes before show time.

Let's see; this was our second visit to Josephine's in the last two weeks and, again, we were not disappointed. I previously mentioned how beautiful this restaurant is. It's the total package here when you factor in the outstanding food coming out of the kitchen and the warm and friendly waitstaff. Kyle was out server this evening with some help from Everett. Love it when you can have a conversation with waitstaff, as I highly respect their trade. Dishes we thoroughly enjoyed on this visit were Chopped Gem Lettuce Caesar with real anchovies. You know, it's not real Caesar unless anchovies are in the house. I had the Sake Marinated Chilean Sea Bass as my appetizer. My wife had the one of the entree additions to the menu, which was a seared Breast of Duck as I opted for the Barramundi. The kitchen killed it. Flavors were simply sublime. The Chocolate and Caramel Decadence was my choice of dessert to share, but then our server, Kyle, came out with an additional dessert for us since it was my wife's birthday. I washed down dessert with a double expresso (also excellent). We did start off with a Marilyn Monroe cocktail for my wife as I opted for the Pinot Noir currently being served (Kendall-Jackson Jackson reserve Andersen Valley 2021). I had it the last time and wanted more. Did have a second glass in honor of my wife's birthday. Josephine's, if you are planning to be in or near the Lancaster area should be on your radar.

Server hunter is excellent. The new chef has brought positive changes. However the new compacted nature of the crab cake seems much unlike before. Seems to have less overall value for the price based on appearance etc.. a crab cake for stauffers seems bigger… side of sauce for them was like 2 oz… again small and not as before. I have been a huge fan of the crab cakes but not anymore… this was a Josephine’s staple item that had now changed! Maybe not for the better of the business. Time will tell.

We had an outstanding dinner to celebrate my daughter's graduation from Millersville U. The staff was flexible when it came to changing the number of guests on our reservation not just once, but twice. Thank you. Food and service were excellent. A very special dinner for a special occasion - the staff printed my daughter's name on a seat card for each guest - a nice touch!

We had a beautiful 10th Anniversary dinner last evening. The staff was attentive, and never overbearing. Courses came out at appropriate times with just enough space in between. Our drinks were flavorful and expertly paired with our meals. Dessert is out of this world and should not be skipped. We have found our new favorite spot to celebrate in the city.

We had a great experience at Josephine’s for our anniversary dinner! The food was truly excellent, as well as the service. It’s a little pricey, but certainly worth it for a special occasion. I would highly recommend it! Our server, Tate, was top notch.

Have been looking at Josephine's for quite sometime when we visit Lancaster, Pa. This time we made it happen and were so glad we did. Josephine's sits under C'est La Vie, another restaurant owned by the same folks. Josephine's is a physically beautiful space in which to dine. Everything that comes out of the kitchen, seals the deal. Service is impeccable with Zach being our server for this night. Onto dinner; we enjoyed fresh oysters (an addition to the menu this night), loin of antelope and Ahi Tuna Poke for appetizers. Yea; antelope and it was spectacular. Entrees included Salmon Oscar, and the Chef's Signature Crab Cake. We shared one dessert (Chocolate and Caramel Decadence). Decaf for my wife and a Double Espresso for myself. We started the evening with a glass of Valdo Prosecco (delicious) and subsequent to that I enjoyed a glass of Kendall Jackson Jackson Estates Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2021 and it was excellent. Service was wonderful. In closing I rated Four Stars for Value, as the restaurant can be as expensive as you wish it to be. However, depending upon individual choices, you can make your experience a Five Star Value. We went full tilt boogie a little for ordinary folks and didn't mind spending a bit more than we are accustomed. That said, we are planning to return in a couple of weeks.

Food was terrific, and I'm a super picky eater. But I cleaned my plate! Service was excellent. Dirty plates lasted no longer than 10-15 seconds on the table...it was amazing. Pricey is ok when service and product meet the price, and it most certainly did.

We had a wonderful time celebrating our niece’s birthday. From the personalized menus, the delicious food and drinks, plus the attention that Tate and your staff gave us. It was nice to meet Bernie in person. He manages a terrific venue. I would also like to give a shout out to Lisa, when I have called on the phone, she is a pleasure to deal with.

Birthday celebration for our daughter. They printed a special greeting in the menu for her!! Such an elegant touch. Food incredible, service amazing. Such a perfect evening. I had the lamb, hubby had duck and daughter had filet Mignon. All perfect.

Josephine's was highly recommended when we were looking for someplace special to go for our Anniversary dinner with friends. Josephine's delighted us from start to finish with outstanding food and cocktails and excellent service. We loved the ambience and the live piano music made our experience extra special. We are looking forward to returning again and again.
