Fantastic food, amazing oysters, the little gem salad was amazing, halibut was excellent, steak was great! Don’t miss this place!

Comfortable room, reasonably quiet early evening. Salmon and halibut were prepared perfectly and among the very best we’ve had. Fried green tomatoes and grilled shrimp were likewise well prepared and tasted great. Service excellent, typical for one of Tom’s places. Definitely going back.

Great night out for our group of 4 adults. The scallop crudo is to die for and the local Hama Hama oysters were so very fresh and satisfying. I’d recommend getting the ribeye too, perfectly seared and not overly salted either, which we did split at our waitress’s recommendation. This place used to be Etta’s formerly and is still part of the Tom Douglas chain.

On our quick trip to Seattle, we wanted oysters but also options for creative seafood dishes. Open Table had just enough information about Half Shell to interest us, along with the "New" designation. Shortly after we were seated, we found out "new" meant four days! And we had the best possible experience anyone could expect from a restaurant this new. The hostess, waiter, and general manager were exceptionally friendly, professional, and attentive. In fact, owner and local restauranteur, Tom Douglas, was shucking oysters when we arrived. The Pearl Martini and the S.O.S. were delightful, but... the food. Full disclosure: we live in Truckee, CA near Lake Tahoe and don't get to eat fresh seafood and shellfish all that much. That said, we took full advantage of the opportunity and loved every bite of: the Hama Hama Hood Rocks oysters, the Weathervane Scallop Crudo, the Manilla Clam Toast, and the fresh Wild Alaskan Halibut. For us, if not to die for, certainly to make another quick trip to Seattle soon. We loved it all and continue to be amazed that this was day four. We hope to be back around day 150!

Not just oysters. My husband and I enjoyed an early Happy Hour dinner. His salmon was wonderfully delicious and my burger was cooked perfectly and came with enough French fries to share. We rounded out dinner with a side of grilled spinach which we also enjoyed. We just had pints of beer but the bar area looked fun. We’ll be back.

Great new oyster bar by Tom Douglas. Incredible martinis, delicious food, in a large modern space with great views of Pike Place.
