Disappointed. 1) my panini sandwich that I ordered (added Chicken to an existing panini on the menu) arrived without the chicken. 2) my friend asked if she could exchange the potatoes on her 1/2 chicken platter for truffle fries. Instead of saying, there will be an up charge or let me see if there will be an upcharge, she was served the platter as described on the menu with an order of truffle fries. That was not what she wanted to do. And our waiter never explained a thing. 3) we ordered bruschetta. He asked if we wanted mozzarella on top. We said sure. He didn't mention an upcharge. Basically he was a USED CAR Salesman. getting the check up high to fill his quota or get a larger tip.

We ate outdoors in front of the restaurant. Unfortunately, a millennial was shouting over his phone and broadcasting his call at the very next table over (why is it that people are too lazy to hold the phone next to their ears and feel compelled to share their conversations and music with the rest of us who don’t care to listen to them?). Spoiled an otherwise excellent meal.

Arrived on time and seated promptly. Vincenzo our waiter was informative and helpful. Pleasant and polite he assisted with our meal options and explained. Which made for a delightful evening.

It would be nice to be able to hold a conversation back where the “booth” tables are. Instead, we had to scream all night. And either unneeded A/C - it was already a cool night - or opened doors led to semi-constants cold drafts. The food was reliably good, and nothing beats the gelato. Attention to the setting would mean a lot.

This is a great Italian restaurant. I had pappardelle Ragu, which was rich and hearty. The pasta is fresh. Try the gelato for dessert - it's a great way to end the meal.

Three of us lunched, 1 enormously enjoyed her meal, one had no complaints. Personally, I was disappointed with pasta carbonara that arrived lukewarm, and a glass of wine with a solid object in it - replaced when we got the server's attention, but still. The service was erratic. One guest finished her coffee and gelato before the other two had their dessert orders taken. I doubt I'll go back. One of my guests definitely will return. The gelato is terrific.

We sat at the Romeo and Juliet Table which over looks the downstairs area where the bar is. Luigi was amazing and the food is always fresh, delicious. Arancini, Octopus, Eggplant and the Tagliatelle were Devine. Authenticity at its finest.

One of our best experiences in Philly! Food and even their olive oil is just like your experiences in Italy / Tuscany areas. Don’t get confused of the pictures here as upstairs dining is bigger and homely. Our wonderful server arranged a beautiful singing of Happy Birthday in Italian, which our daughter loved! Don’t forget to try their special Negroni! Thank you for wait staff for an amazing job done.

Poor service - had to ask twice for water, twice for dessert, twice for check. Ate on 1st floor - was more like a sports bar - blaring soccer game on tv. Not sure if it would be quieter upstairs. Food, however, was excellent. Had Carbonara - it was the real deal - not the Americanized version made with heavy cream - just egg. Would give it another try because the food was so good and lots of things on the menu I would like to try.

I regret not having come here sooner! The food is amazing. Their arancini is like having them for the first time. Excellent pasta alle vongole -- plentiful clams, al dente spahgetti, and flavorful broth. And the gelato was the perfect finish. Am already planing on going back.

Casa lontano da casa. Cosi voglio intitolare questa recensione. In viaggio la voglia di cucina italiana è sempre forte….e spesso trattengo la voglia……ma qui la tentazione era davvero troppa!!!! Ed ho fatto bene a farmi tentare. Cucina davvero molto vicina all’italiana vera, agnolotti sublimi e parla una piemontese doc. In Piemonte non sempre li trovi così buoni. Chitarra pomodoro e guanciale ottima. Ma cosa la fa da padrone e il gelato che è FENOMENALE!!! Un pistacchio che sa di pistacchio e non di sapori strani con colori strani. Sorbetto mango pesca da brividi talmente buono. Servizio al tavolo da 10 e lode! Complimenti!!!!

Our waiter made the experience. We were seated upstairs in a two top against a glass wall that had equipment behind it. The place was packed and across from us was a very large and long group table that was beyond loud. We started with drinks which were ok, the calamari was alright, the cheese/meat board was good, the authentic olive oil they served for bread service gained points with us. The crab cake was alright and salad traditional. Our pasta was luke warm, which we don’t like to complain, but the food was a product of a packed establishment and the kitchen and serving staff trying to do their best. We will try again as we heard such good things about here. Maybe it was an off night. Dessert gelato was the saver of the night.

We had a marvelous dinner at Caffe L'Aquila. Terrific, friendly, attentive, knowledgable service from Marco, as well as a table visit by someone else whom I assume was the owner or manager, delicious fried artichokes, cheese assortment, veal braciole, salmon, lamb skewers, pasta with boar meatballs, sausage, and lamb, creme brulee, cannolo and cherry gelato, limoncello spritzes, Chardonnay, and Negroni. Everything was delicious and we ate at a leisurely pace, unrushed, which was so pleasant. Definitely highly recommend this place!

We chose this place for our Easter dinner because two years ago when visiting Philly we ate here and it was such an amazing experience! Best food and reasonably priced! I never knew the magic of gelato!!
