The El Serrano Family of Restaurants has come a long way since its humble beginnings in the 1980s as a food trailer at the York Fair--and while it is thousands of miles from Owner Manuel Torres' native Peru, stepping though its hand-carved mahogany doors is like entering a Latin-American hacienda.

Beautiful restaurant but unfortunately the prettiest areas were not being utilized for seating. We were at a small table in the corner (5 of us), and could have easily been seated in a much more open area. Not sure why except to make it easier for the wait staff? Other than that, everything else was wonderful. Had a great waiter, Micah, and amazing food. This was our first time but will return. But will ask for a better table!

we went there for Mother's day with reservation for 6 at 5:30 PM. Had to wait 15 minutes. Our table was in a remote corner of the first floor. It was difficult for my 93 year old dad to walk for that distance. Once, we settled down, Isabella was our server. SHe was great and took care of all our food and drink needs. The food was spectacular and so were the drinks and service. At the end of the day, it was a beautiful evening.

Made reservations for Mothers day. Started off fine, but then after ordering it took almost an hour for two kids meals and fajtias. No one seemed sincerely care, at one point the manager came to apologize but it was basically blamed it on being busy. Food finally came and was awful.

Well, we have been going to el Serrano for Mother’s Day for a few years now… and everything ran relatively smoothly… but this year it took forever for the food to come out and 2 out the 5 entrees had to be sent back to warm them up… for drink refill I had to go find the waiter to get refills… Who knows, maybe they were short on help.. and it was Mother’s Day but as far as I was concerned I’m not sure if I wanna spend 150-175$ on this

The food was authentic and tasty. The server was apologetic. The kitchen appeared to be beyond slow. We waited 1.5 hours for our meals and had to find our server twice to see what was going on. We did get a discount on the bill due to the wait, so would give them a try in the future but not rushing back.

We waited over 1.5 hours for our food, unfortunately. The atmosphere is beautiful but the quality of the food and wait time certainly wasn’t worth it.

It was like a date night, and we felt very relaxed and enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and our drinks. Our waiter was very accommodating and helped make our choices of drinks when we couldn't decide. Our favorite meal is Lomo Saltado, a Peruvian dish, but this time I tried a seafood dish Arroz con Mariscos, also a Peruvian dish and it was excellent. Their wines are also excellent. I tried a white wine with my meal. The manager even came and talked with us making us feel very welcome and comfortable. Service and food were well timed. It was a little noisy but only because they drew a large crowd. I would defiantly go back and recommend El Serrano to anyone.
