In Birdsboro-Gibraltar, Christine's Creekside Inn has a long and interesting history. What is now the restaurant's building was known at various times for being a grist mill, a knitting mill, a speakeasy and a fine dining establishment. Open for lunch and dinner, Christine's Creekside Inn also serves private groups such as wedding receptions, reunions, holiday parties and other special occasions. Christine's Creekside Inn has separate menus for the dining hall and pub. The dining menu offers Northern Italian fare, steaks and seafood with chef specialties like the veal de la casa or chicken ala Christine. The pub menu offers burgers and sandwiches and a limited number of entrees such as spaghetti and meatballs, chicken alfredo and 6-oz. pub filet.

Very very slow service. We didn’t order desserts, coffee or drinks because the service was so slow and dinner took two hours

Upon arrival we were informed that everything was "Made to Order"...we were looking forward to a wonderful Valentine's Day Dinner...instead, we were presented with a lobster Bisque that looked more like chicken broth with bits of crab floating in it (no cream-like bisque at all). Undeterred we proceeded to order... I opted for the prime rib and my lady went for the crab cakes. after a few minutes I was informed that they were "out" of homefries and they suggested a baked potato instead...Hmmm..let's think about this... out of homefries...main ingredient? Potato... for a restaurant that made it a point of telling me everything was "made to order" I found it unacceptable that they would tell me they were out of Homefires and yet not out of potatoes...moving on... I requested Butter and bacon on my baked spud... it was delivered as dry as the Sahara...dissapointing to say the least. Let's not forget my lady's crab cakes.... they were crab cakes in name only, consisting mainly of incredibly over-salted stuffing and a fair amount of crab shell bits. Neither of us finished our food, nor did we opt to take the leftovers home. We held high hopes for Christine's because the restaurant's asthetic is lovely, however to say that the food was sub-par would be giving it way too much credit.. The prices were what you'd expect from a fine dining restaurant, the quality of food fell far short of that mark. I read another review that called this place a hidden gem... I suggest you let it stay hidden and don't go looking.

Food was very tasty, hot and presented extremely well. The noise level could have been toned down. The server tried to be attentive, but she seemed to be less experienced than I would have expected.

It was not upscale dining at all. My Chicken Francaise was probably the worst thing I have ever eaten. My salad was good. My French onion soup was good. The rolls were terrible, which you would have thought if you are boasting Italian, that they would have good bread. My boyfriend liked his Pork Schnitzel, but his pasta was over cooked and the home fries were horrible. I chose this place, because I had never been there and had heard it is good. I would not go back again. We also had to wait a half an hour to get our check once we were finished eating. It was a very disappointing Valentine’s Day dinner!

Excellent food. Great sauces. Server was very nice. Doug is a good cook. I hear he is also a fireman. It’s kind of a gem. Again, lights would be nice at creek. Chairs are uncomfortable.

The King Cut Prime Rib was HUGE! Staff was attentive but not lurking. We will be back!

Great service. The waitress did not rush us through the meal. Food was delicious and generous portions.

Food was overall excellent. I will try and explain a few things and also things I would like have changed. Appetizers were excellent. We had three of them. The onion soup had a very stuffing like taste to it. It could have better especially since the Demi glaze on the beef strips was so incredible. I believe that could be utilized in it. Three things I would like improved and it is not food related. I wish they would light up the back creek. I wish they had candles in the tables as it was a little dark. The rolls could have been better. They just were not good and that is one thing I really like usual. They were yeasty and the butter was not great either. Ok, waitress was very nice. I like the look of the place a lot. It’s nice to have a place out in the woods. All the food was truly great. I could not get enough of it and would have ordered more. I do wish the bar menu was on the main menu. Looking forward to coming back.
