From the people that brought you Trattoria Carina, Pub & Kitchen and The Diving Horse comes their newest restaurant, Carina Sorella.

Carina Sorella is a casual neighborhood Italian restaurant with a focus on delicious and approachable food in a bright, vibrant atmosphere. Our menu is built around classic dishes - Spaghetti and Meatballs, Cacio e Pepe, Caesar Salad, Chicken Parmesan - but we surround that core of dishes with seasonal, chef driven specialties.

The Bryn Mawr location will include the addition of a pizza oven and a full bar, building on the smaller footprint of the existing location in Philadelphia, Trattoria Carina.

    Carina Sorella is a really welcome addition to what is becoming a terrific restaurant scene in Bryn Mawr. The restaurant is lovely, with a terrific bar area and an expansive dining space. Available wines by the glass are nice, especially the two roses, and the cocktails are a treat (they make an amazing 9 mile that is served in a lovely Nick & Nora glass). The menu is limited in a good way - enough options to offer something for everyone, including pizzas, pasta and mains, but its relative brevity allows them to really focus on what's there. The cooking itself is good - the gemelli and cacio pepe pasta dishes are quite good - and the runners get things from the kitchen to the table quickly. The restaurant just opened this month, and we are thrilled by how fast they have made it a terrific dining spot.

    The pizza was very greasy. The food was average and came out room temperature. It was very loud.

    Two of us dined here and there was good and bad. 1. The food (appetizers, entrees and desserts) was very tasty 2. Service was very attentive 3. The hostess was excellent 4. The noise level is off the charts (we had to yell at each other to hear). Tables are also too close together, we could hear entire conversations (probably since they were yelling also). 5. Bread is not provided, you must purchase it 6. The wine pours are very small for the price you pay 7. The menu is not huge and there are no specials 8. Pasta sides are not included with the meat entrees. You would have to purchase 1/2 portion of a pasta entree. Many Italian restaurants include a choice of pasta or vegetables/potatoes. We would probably try it again in a few months to see if any of this has changed.

    Our dinner was excellent. My husband had Caesar salad and Pappardelle Bolognese and I had the Swordfish. My husband's favorite wine was on the menu which he enjoyed very much. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that would like to enjoy a wonderful Italian meal. When you go there, ask for Chase, the manager, and tell him that Jeff sent you. Ciao!

    Beautiful place service great, food good. Cocktails/ wine expensive for the size of the pour you get.

    The noise level was unbearably loud. Our drinks got mixed up. Our server was sweet but clueless. The pizza crust was soggy. The jury is out whether we go back

    Very cute place with quite friendly staff. Service was not attentive and incredibly Slow. Pasta delicious but swordfish very bad

    I was so excited for this restaurant to open. I love pub and kitchen. We need more contemporary restaurants like this. However there are some opening kinks. It was so loud we had to shout across the table. That said, tables too close together we could hear the whole conversation of the table next to us. The wrong drink was delivered to my husband and wasn’t comped because he started drinking it. I wish there was one wine option under $15 a glass. The food was good but not strong enough to get me back. If the noise is improved, I will go back.

    While new in this location this restaurant is an old hand in this area. Given that, the food, service, and care should have been much better. The food was generally overcooked yet under-flavored starting with the shishito peppers that were limp and mushy and moving to pasta dishes that featured decent pasta, clearly house made, with boring and taste free sauces. We had to ask for condiments to add flavor as the presented dishes were much too bland to be considered "Italian", perhaps if Chef Boyardee is Italian. The presentation of the food also left a great deal to be desired. Besides the fact that my service plate, on the table when we sat, was not clean yet I was forced to use it, food on a plate needs to be visually appealing in a decent restaurant. Every food item could have easily fit in an Army mess hall--what used to be called slop on a shingle. Even the sorbet was just a lump in a bowl. Add to that the fact that my husband and I were seated smack up against the bar service area with a wall hiding us from the rest of the restaurant but allowing us an earful of the odd and unsolicited conversations of the wait staff. I do have to say that their voices were much preferred to the screaming babies and children seated somewhere behind us. Definitely not worth $150.
