This was a choice based on going to the Walnut Street Theater and it was a great choice based on location, a parking deal and a terrific dining experience great service and delicious food. Definitely would highly recommend Buca D'oro to anyone.

This was our first time at this restaurant. We had a reservation for 4 people and all of us totally enjoyed our meal. My salmon was delicious and prepared specifically for my dietary needs. I really appreciated that the restaurant was quiet, so we could hear each other! Also, the murals decorating the walls are beautiful! We will return!

Great spot for lunch, service was superb, the food was exceptionally good. We were a party of 5 and it was a unanimous and enthusiastic thumbs up. I had the excellent grilled salmon entree. Others raved about the soup of the day, the grilled shrimp, the ravioli, Caesar salad, the gnocchi. Our lovely server even gave us a theatre discount without being asked after overhearing our post lunch plans. Highly recommend this old standby great restaurant. New owner really keeping up the rep!

Our favorite restaurant for end of theater season celebration. We’ve been frequenting Buca for many years. ALL Wait staff were attentive and pleasant. Food is always delicious- highly recommend the bronzino. Can’t wait for our next visit!

Food was very good and portions were large. My wife and I split an appetiser and a pasta dish and we had plenty to eat. Two negative observations: 1) I ordered a bottle of wine and when the waiter served the wine, he didn't present the bottle to me to review prior to opening and pouring, and when he put the bottle on the table, against the wall, he purposely put the label facing the wall. Later I looked at the bottle to find it was not the wine I had ordered, and the wine he served wasn't on the menu, so I don't know if he substituted a cheaper bottle of wine or what. I would have been fine if he had said that they were out of that particular wine, and had an equal substitute, but to try to hide it from me was unprofessional. 2) As I said above, my wife and I split an appetiser and a pasta dish. We told the waiter when we ordered that we were going to split both items, but when the food came it all came at once, so if we split the appetiser together, the pasta was going to get cold. They should have brought the appetiser out first and then when we were finished, brought out the pasta. BTW - we arrived at the restaurant just before our 5PM reservation and we were the second party seated, so there was no rush to get us going by serving both food items at the same time. I would go there again, but I will be more vigilant about the wine, and when the items get served.

It’s an oldie but goodie! We’ve been coming here for more than 30 years! Never disappoints. Only regret is to have to walk down the stairs to get there - getting harder to do that. Food is always good , ambiance makes you feel like you are back in Italy

I’m coming from the suburbs. There is an 8th Street exit off the expressway that gets us there quick. The discounted $10 parking on 8th between Walnut and Locust is great. The portions and prices are very reasonable. The owners show a true interest in their customers. We brought our own birthday cake and it wasn’t a problem. The best value restaurant in the city in the safest part of town (Washington Square) without the craziness of Rittenhouse.

My friend and I booked this before a show - we hit so much traffic we were running late - I called and they were so accommodating! The food was delicious and the service was attentive - we can't wait to go back when we have time to enjoy desert and coffee, too! We shared the special grilled romaine salad which we loved and I got the lobster ravioli and she got the gnocchi. The ravioli also had perfectly seared scallops and shrimp and was piping hot and delicious. We loved our meal!

We love the atmosphere at La Buca D-oro. The room is beautiful and reminds us of an Italian square. It is a wonderful place to spend time in. The service was very good. We had only a short time before we had to get to the theatre, and the food came quickly. However, the food could have been better. I had a veal dish with crabmeat and shrimp. The veal was tough and the shrimp was overcooked. My husband has chicken which also was kind of tough. The sauces were excellent on both dishes however. This is not the first time I had been there, and my experience the first time was similar as well. When I go to the theatre in the future, this would not be my first choice even though I love the atmosphere.

Very disappointed with our experience here. We had reservations for 6:30 pm and didn’t get served dinner until 7:40. We had tickets to a show and we felt extremely rushed. Will never eat here before a show again. Service was horrible

We finally tried Buca D'Oro before a Walnut St. Theater production. The food was sooooo good! Nothing overly risky, but creative and very well executed. Service was good; teamwork was apparent and any requests we overheard from neighboring tables were accommodated. The murals alone made it worth a visit, but the delicious food, reasonable prices, and parking deal make it a place to which we will definitely return.

Bucca is a really good Italian meal. The pasta sauces are light and fresh. The salads are tossed just right and the service is friendly. It is my go to when I want a lovely meal with a glass of wine!

My wife and I wanted to try Buca D'Oro for restaurant week but were unable to do so. So we made a date night and went during the week the other night. The restaurant has a special "deal" with a nearby parking garage which is fantastic. The food and service were very good. This was a nice restaurant which I can see us returning to with friends.
