Lovely place to have a quiet/intimate meal with another person. Saying the food is delicious would be an understatement! Food is a little expensive, but good quality, and all the sides are served in a "shareble" sized portion.

The drinks, food and service were all excellent. We went with salad and seafood for the evening instead of steak. The salad was generous with top quality fresh ingredients. The oyster rockefeller, chilean sea bass and scallops were prepared perfectly including the sauces or toppings. The steaks are always great but this was delightful alternative.

Highly recommend! Service was outstanding, Andrew did a great job at making sure we had everything we wanted and explained the menu and recommendations. Food was amazing and well worth the price. Overall a great experience and we will be back!

I was traveling to Lancaster for the weekend and ate at 401 Prime Friday night. It was so good, we decided to go back on Saturday night! Great customer service! Staff from the hostess to the waiters were some of the best individuals in the business! I would love to come back and definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Lancaster!

What a fabulous evening of fine food , impeccable service and craft cocktails. Full and varied menu but come for the steak!!!! Our server was attentive and our whole evening was sublime. Yea pricey but an experience as well as total yum

This was our first time at 401 Prime!! It exceeded our expectations!! Our server, Andrew, was awesome!!!!! From the beginning with the popovers, butter, and salt trio- DIVINE!!!! We tried the slab bacon and macaroni and cheese-HEAVENLY!! I had the filet and crab cake-BEST CRAB CAKE EVER!!! The filet was cooked perfectly and well seasoned!!! We tried the rainbow carrots and vegetable risotto!! Couldn’t get enough!!! My husband had the dry age bone in ribeye!! He said it was fantastic!!! For dessert we had the chef special of banana cheesecake!!! Words couldn’t describe how delicious that was!!!! I even got one to go!!! We will definitely be back for our upcoming anniversary and birthdays!!!! Well worth the expense for outstanding food and service!!!

We've been a few times now and have been impressed both times. The wife and I have traveled the country and steakhouses are our thing for every place we go. This has to be one of the best we've been too. My wife says I'm a huge food critic and I'm m always impressed from start to finish with food and service. I wish I had 4 stomachs to try everything as nothing disappoints.

Simply put, this was an outstanding experience! The atmosphere, the high level of courtesy and professionalism on the part of the entire staff, very high quality of the food equal to any Michelen 2 Star restaurant, the atmosphere quite pleasing. We've been to their sister restaurant a few times when we were in Lancaster, but this was the first chance we had to try 401 Prime, and it didn't disappoint. The food and service were exceptional. I had the Dry Aged Ribeye and my wife had the Filet Medallions, both were cooked perfectly and delicious, as was the Lobster Bisque and the Mac and Cheese.

This was our first time dining at 401 Prime. It was an excellent experience. Everything from the atmosphere to the cocktails, food, dessert, and service was wonderful. I had the best filet mignon of my life - so delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.

My wife and I were very excited to try this restaurant and had a pretty solid plan as to what we were going to order… Shrimp Cocktail 14 oz Kobe New York Strip Burlee’ corn pudding Place was very nice inside and quite honestly pretty pricey for Lancaster but didn’t care wanted to enjoy the evening… Shrimp Cocktail arrives $21 4 colossal shrimp lemon cocktail sauce just like the menu said… That’s when things got real for me! The shrimp were thaw and serve!!! Yes they were big but at a place like this with such high expectations it was an utter disappointment. I was NEVER asked by the bartender how was your shrimp…so just asked for the check…I told her the shrimp were not good…”I’ll get the manager”… the manager arrives pompous arrogant man and told me we get fresh fish in everyday and those shrimp are cooked in house… I see it’s a lose lose situation so I pay my check and leave… Note for those who are reading this the menu has shrimp on it twice both as cocktail shrimp… If they are cooking them fresh why wouldn’t they have any other shrimp dish on the menu?? Guess I ordered the wrong thing but first impressions are very important to me and they failed.

On the positive side - the staff and service here is impeccable. Sadly, the kitchen was having a very bad night. 3 at our table had to return way overcooked steaks. The table beside us sent an order back and the table 2 down from us sent 2 orders back. I felt bad for the manager because all he was doing was apologizing to diners. They did fix our orders and when the steaks were returned they were delicious. 2 of us had the tenderloins with asparagus and 2 had filet mignon. I highly recommend the filet over the tenderloins. It melts in your mouth. We also had the Kennet Square mushroom soup to start and it was delicious. Our server, the GM and the floor manager went out of their way to take care of us - both with comped food and extra desserts. For this reason I will give 401Prime another try. On a separate note - this is an expensive and beautiful restaurant. I wish they had a dress code - we couldn't believe how some folks were dressed for fine dining - ripped jeans, pajama pants and more.
