About West Philly Orchestra Website | Facebook | Instagram | BandCamp | Spotify West Philadelphia Orchestra is a village brass band that comes together to celebrate, rage, party and protest. The group was founded in 2006 by drummer/songwriter/producer G. Mervine, who gathered together musicians who hung out at Fiume, a legendary watering hole in West Philly. They were initally inspired by Romani "orkestars" and "fanfares" like Taraf de Haidouks, Fanfare Ciocarlia and Kočani Orkestar, as well as Balkan music scene up the highway in NYC (Gogol Bordello, Slavic Soul Party!, Zlatne Uste, etc.).

Lots of free parking after 6. Was able to enjoy an absolutely delicious meal prior to two fantastic bands. Small intimate feeling venue. No one tried to hustle us out of the seats. 10/10 would recommend dinner prior to a show.

I came here to celebrate my 21st birthday with my family and it was an excellent experience. Our server was Carissa and she was so sweet and helpful. The service was super quick and everything we ordered from drinks to food was so so tasty!!! will definitely be back!

Awesome place! Table was a little wobbly though. Other than that, everything was great.

Food was great and band was amazing but I don't know how the restaurant or the band makes enough money with your setup. It was a really small crowd. The instructions about attending were confusing. Instructions said it was general admission but you need a reservation to get a reserved table. So we did that. We would have happily gone earlier for drinks beforehand but and then instructions said "doors open at 6:30". I'm afraid that people who were interested in seeing the band may not have come because of all of these confusing instructions. Also, a sunday evening, especially mother's day, probably wasn't a great date. I feel bad for Brit Pack. I've been to other shows with them that drew 300+ people in small theaters. Need better marketing. Less than 40 people were there.

Very expensive and limited options but it was good. Great venue for music although it’s tiny and incredibly LOUD. I’ll definitely go back but eat beforehand and bring earplugs.

Chicken nachos and mahi tacos were out of this world delicious and the presentation beautiful. We bought tickets for a show and reserved a table to eat before hand. Our server was on top of everything and we stayed until they closed. Bathroom was supplied beautifully for anything a lady could need in an emergency while out. Impeccably clean, as well. It is a venue we will definitely be coming back to. We even had our 11 year old with us and the atmosphere was polite and excited, not rambunctious and uncomfortable for a child to be in attendance. Really excellent experience.

We tried the flatbreads which were good and a dessert which was very good. The beer selection is pretty poor, the wine selection is dismal and overpriced for a short pour. It is a good venue for entertainment and bar food.

We try our best with a limited amount of space to provide the popular beer & wine varietals. We have strived to focus on seasonal craft cocktails to provide more of a beverage adventure. The nachos, handheld, asparagus flatbread were outstanding. The music by the West Philadelphia Orchestra was ESPECIALLY outstanding; I hope you will have them play more often!
