Really enjoyable experience sitting at the sushi bar getting insight from the long-time chef and watching beautifully crafted food go by. Friendly professional service completed the experience. A really nice date night.

I got soooo sick from dinner last night. Im sure it was the Spicy hamachi, just thinking about it makes me sick again. This place used to be to be great, not anymore

While it is reasonable to assume that food-borne illness is caused by your most recent dining experience, in many cases it often take several days to weeks for symptoms to appear. They will likely ask you for a detailed history of everything you've eaten for the last few weeks to determine a possible cause. Very nice ambiance and good service. The rolls we tried were tasty. The layout does not leave much room between tables, so it feels a bit crowded.

Absolutely fanastic sushi. I had a couple of rolls, my partner had the sashimi salad, and we both had a tempura set. Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. Service was attentive and it was a very enjoyable place to have a lovely dinner. Recommended.

We ordered a bunch of items. Besides the mushroom dish - Calamari, sushi roll and nigiri was all just mediocre. Overly breaded, thick rice filling and poor cut fish on top of the nigiri. I will not be coming back - sorry!

A lovely ambience, natural wood, cherry blossom tree of twinkle lights, spacious loft, tucked away in Ballard. We had tasty unique cocktails, and fresh, well done traditional japanese appetizers and sushi. A great place to meet friends.

The food was excellent and the staff attentive and very personable, even on a busy Saturday night. Our party included 2 (very) young children, and the table set-up already included the requested booster seat when we arrived. Shortly after, kid-friendly waster glasses and crayons/paper were brought. Deluxe! With the children occupied, we were able to relax and enjoy our celebration and felt that other restaurant patrons could enjoy their evening too!

Overall, not sure why this place is so well rated. Food was fine but nothing great. Service was very slow. Seemed like a young crowd, big-group type of place, but based on other reviews I was expecting better.

Delicious food and great ambiance. Sashimi melted in your mouth, rolls were expertly prepared. Elevated food in a hip, cozy Ballard location. Recommended.

I normally love Moshi Moshi but I was so disappointed this time and it was my birthday. The sushi was fine, the service was eh, the crème brûlée dessert was curdled, and my friends drink was so watery. Honestly a huge bummer :(

My girlfriend and I went to Moshi Moshi last night. At first everything was fine, but then less than an hour after we were seated we were told by our waitress that another reservation had arrived and we needed to leave soon. We were appalled! We have never been rushed out of a restaurant before and we hadn’t even finished eating and drinking. We were going to order more items from the menu, but were so bothered by that comment and the poor service that we left. In addition, there were open tables available, so there was no reason to rush us out. It was an extremely disappointing experience and poor service.

Hi Ryan, I'm sorry you feel you had a poor experience. However, as I mentioned in the email reply I sent to you, this is not an accurate statement of facts. You were seated on time, and made 3 separate rounds of orders for over an hour before your server told you that you were nearing the end of you 90 minute reservation. The 90 minute limit was explicitly mentioned when you both booked your reservation on OpenTable and in the email confirmation you received. It's also more than enough time for 2 people to dine with us. Your reservation was on a busy Saturday night and it is important that we make sure tables are available for later guests. While I'm sorry you felt you were rushed, the facts of the evening differ significantly from what you stated in this review.

Overpriced and just all right. Why are we paying 13 bucks ++ (two pieces of nigiri) for two bites of fish these days? It seems rather ridiculous and I will try not to do it ever again. Wait, did I really pay 13 buck ++ for a two bites of fish and rice? Why did I do that? So STUPID! Don't be STUPID like me. Oh yeah, there were some other bite in there, and I ended up forking out $105 bucks for something like 20 bites of food. What just happened?

Not all Japanese restaurants make chawanmushi. It is a special food memory for me. Sometimes I go for a leisurely chawanmushi and tea. If you can have eggs and shellfish and want a light snack, this is a wonderful dish. It takes a bit of time to prepare. On my last visit, I ordered the chawanmushi as I sat down, took a few minutes to decide that I would also have some nigiri, which was well prepared and delicious (I sat at the sushi bar) and shortly afterward, the chawanmushi came out. The bento lunches are also delicious and a great deal. I haven't been here for dinner yet though.

Not our first time here over the years. It has a large menu and we often go with our young kids. Rolls aren’t cheap but also are not expensive. Food is good, some things could be done better. Appetizers were the worst of it. Edamame was fine, hard to screw that up. Chicken yakitori - seemed a tad undercooked and could be brined/marinated a bit more for more flavor. The charred bits on it were very charred though so maybe the flame needs to be lowered a bit and cooked a couple mins longer. The calamari was overcooked - too dry and meat was all brown and withered. Batter was too thick. The miso soup is also hard to screw up and it was fine. We ordered 7 maki rolls to share. Their size was big. Some better than others.

This is our go to sushi restaurant when we visit Seattle. We've been coming once a year or every other year for a decade now and it just keeps getting better. The Moshi Moshi roll was a brilliant combination of flavors, with none over powering. For the first time we ordered something off the sushi menu, and the Brussel's sprouts with miso sauce floored us. All in all, we love this place.

I have gone here every time I am in Seattle. The sushi is great. The code is low key. The neighborhood around it is cute with a lot of restaurants, shops and bars.

Had a fantastic experience at Moshi Moshi! The price point is pretty typical for the area, and the quality of the food was fantastic-- probably the best sushi I've had in Ballard so far. There was a spill at my table and the waitstaff was unbelievably kind about it + offered a complimentary replacement drink! We'll definitely be coming back.

I don’t love Japanese food but heard good things about Moshi. Tried it and didn’t like it still. The gyoza were bland and mushy; the California roll had no flavor. I did really like boot the tempura prawns - the tempura batter was perfection
