I recently had the pleasure of dining at Morimoto, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was upscale and inviting, setting the stage for a memorable meal. I opted for the pork belly plate with porridge, and despite having a seafood allergy, the chef graciously accommodated my dietary restrictions by freshly preparing my meal from scratch. The result was nothing short of spectacular. The pork belly was impeccably cooked, so tender that it practically melted in my mouth like butter. The attention to detail and the chef's willingness to cater to my needs truly elevated the dining experience. In addition to the pork belly, I also indulged in some sushi, opting for a veggie option. The sushi was freshly made, evident from the vibrant flavors and quality ingredients. Each bite was a delightful explosion of taste, showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen staff. To round off the meal, I savored a delightful flan, accompanied by an exquisite Apple compote on the side. The combination of creamy flan and tangy compote was a perfect finale to an already outstanding dining experience. Overall, Morimoto Restaurant exceeded my expectations with its high-end, top-notch Asian cuisine, impeccable service, and attention to detail. Great first time experiencing morimoto for my girlfriends birthday, the sushi was light and fresh and the katsu chicken curry and chicken ramen were delicious

We enjoyed this restaurant but our 8:45 reservation didn’t mean much and we didn’t sit down and receive food service until 10pm. We were given a couple of complementary appetizers because of the wait but by that time we were all very hungry and a bit grumpy. The waitress was excellent but the situation was beyond her control.

After years trying to make time when in Philadelphia was finally able to visit. Even after my long wait, my high expectations were satisfied! Omakase was incredible and so unique. Loved all the “menu” items as well, fabulous seasonal fish selection and of course an extensive sake selection, including Morimoto’s own! Wait staff was superb!!

The service was definitely the best part of this meal. Our server, Christine, was amazing. she had great knowledge of the menu, was incredibly friendly and was conversational. The food was good as well, especially the nigiri and wagyu courses on the omakase.

Amazing first experience! Even first time trying sushi! I loved it and will definitely come back. The ambiance and vibes were immaculate. Bill (I believe the manager) was very kind and accommodating. Great way to celebrate my birthday!

We took our nephew who likes Japanese culture. we have been going to Morimoto since it opened its my favorite Philly restaurant. My son and nephew and I had the omakase. This was my nephew's first time. After the meal he said thanks for bringing me this was the best meal of my life!!!!

It was really nice to stop by on a rainy day. We had a refreshing cherry trout crude to start, followed by the seasonal sashimi combination. I was really pleased to enjoy uni with it.

Waitress was uninformed about some of their wine offerings. When we requested another napkin to replace a soiled one she nodded and ignored us for the next 30 minutes. While I mentioned that it was my wife’s birthday and she even discussed it with my wife she completely failed to provide a candle while other nearby tables celebrated. Near the end of the meal she pulled a plate away from my wife while she was eating the last morsel of food on her fork. There were people waiting for our table but usually 90 minutes is the industry standard. After a bill for 600+ a higher quality of service should expected.

The table center pieces are annoying and can’t be moved, and look like something from an adult bookstore. Service was substandard for a higher end or Starr restaurant. Chef choice sushi dish was good, the higher cost larger portion was good for two people. Check in the box, probably won’t be back. Price point should drive exceptional experience across the board not just the food.

Amazing as usual. The ambiance, design, decor are timeless. My little man felt like we were in a space ship. AND, he tried lots of new things. The food was delicious and the deserts were soooo rich. Thanks.

We literally had some of the best bites and best drinks we have had in our lives at this place. Cocktails were amazing. I recommend getting the Omakase and Sake pairing. Also I just have to shout out Andrew, our server, for being incredibly personable, informative, and funny for our entire meal. He truly made it a special occasion for us both.

The server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. All the food was amazing but the Wagyu steak really stood out as the best piece for meat I have ever eaten. Our meal was expensive but worth it. We will definitely be returning.

Food is not anywhere near as good as it used to be a few years ago. Clearly they have a new chef who felt like he had to change up some of their classics…for no reason other than to change them. Example: The toro tartare was the single greatest food item I’ve ever had, including all four 3 Michelin star restaurants I’ve been to. Not anymore. Was it ok? Meh… Would I order it again? Not a chance. (It looked like cat food…see photos. There is a before and after. The “current” is the Fancy Feast looking dish. The old version was a work of art.) Sad to see what many considered the best restaurant in the country become something barely above a tourist trap.

We did the omakase experience and I cannot recommend it highly enough! Really cool atmosphere, upscale without being stuffy, and our server (Forest) was very knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. All the service staff worked together to make sure we had a seamless experience. That’s before you even get to the food, which was incredible! As much an experience as a meal.

Outstanding sushi! Absolutely the freshest and best sushi we have ever eaten. So many great options The most choices I have ever seen. If going as a party of 1-3 or so, I recommend sitting at the counter. Watching the master sushi chefs create amazing sushi is an experience in and of itself. A fantastic and most memorable experience!

Wonderful dining experience for a special birthday celebration. We enjoyed the omakase menu which was spectacular with a variety of seafood and some beef from the hot and cold menus paired with a cocktail and sake.
