There is always a celebration happening in Las Vegas — what other city can say that? Whether it’s Friday or Monday, a bachelorette party or bottle service for the sake of bottle service, every occasion is a special occasion in Las Vegas. While there is something truly magical about a place where everyone is trying to have the best night of their life, the inherent spectacle of it all poses a challenge when attempting to really celebrate. This begs the question: When you are attempting to commemorate a truly special occasion in Las Vegas, how do you do it? The answer: by choosing the perfect restaurant. From glittering Strip venues with views as opulent as the food to intimate neighborhood spots meant for shared plates and warm conversation, there is no standard formula for the ideal special occasion restaurant in Las Vegas. Whether your celebration takes the form of cocktails, twinkling lights, and no dress code in the Arts District or the kind of steakhouse worth putting on an evening gown for, consider these restaurants for your next special occasion in Las Vegas.

À propos du restaurant
On a warm desert evening, Jammyland’s expansive patio is the ideal destination for the kind of laid-back celebration with friends that stretches late into the night. Take a seat beneath the canopy of lights, marvel at the colorful murals on the walls, and enjoy Caribbean-influenced fare (the 24-hour jerk wings are especially popular) and tropical cocktails. Located in the heart of the Arts District — a vibrant neighborhood filled with galleries, boutiques, and antiques — this welcoming spot will make you feel like a Las Vegas local if you aren’t one already.

À propos du restaurant
Stepping into the glitzy world of Cosmopolitan Las Vegas for your next special occasion is a great start — but where to dine once you’ve arrived? David Chang’s Momofuku fits the bill with creative menu items designed to be shared. Start with shrimp, pork belly, or shiitake buns for the table, then order some duck confit ramen. Feel like splurging? The candied walnut lobster and shrimp, which comes with six lobster tails and 18 tempura shrimp, serves four and is 100 percent celebration-worthy.

Chef Jamie Tran’s The Black Sheep has been making waves since opening in 2017. After winning numerous awards early on, including Eater Vegas chef of the year and restaurant of the year, Tran went on to compete on Top Chef in 2021. As her star continues to rise, The Black Sheep, located in southwest Las Vegas, keeps dazzling with American-Vietnamese food and a sleek, monochromatic interior design. Not to be missed: The Black Sheep’s take on Nashville hot chicken, served on honey toast.

It’s easy to see why so many people get engaged at Top of the World at The Strat. Nestled in the SkyPod at the top of the tallest building in Las Vegas, this fine-dining restaurant rotates 360 degrees every 80 minutes, offering sweeping views of the Strip, Downtown, and the sun setting on the rosy desert cliffs in the distance. Book a reservation, dress nicely, and enjoy classic American fine-dining fare including steak, ahi tuna, crab legs, and lamb. The cocktail list is also not to be missed here.

Desert Shores
À propos du restaurant
Head west of the Strip to Desert Shores and linger over an open-air dinner or brunch along the shores of Lake Jacqueline at Americana. Chef Stephen Blandino’s European-influenced menu includes fresh fare that fits the alfresco setting — think grilled Hawaiian swordfish with baby fennel and a bottle of wine for a romantic dinner or charcuterie and sangria for brunch. The twinkling lights and charming lake views make this a top choice for a relaxing, serene celebration.

À propos du restaurant
A giant celebration deserves a giant meatball — at least, that’s the logic at LAVO at The Palazzo. The Italian restaurant and adjoining lounge from the Tao Group is known for both its aforementioned massive meatball and its raucous, endless brunch that includes fettuccine alfredo in a parmesan wheel, brick oven-cooked salmon with garlic butter, wagyu burgers with bacon and heirloom tomatoes, and a chocolate fountain with fruit for dessert. A Stripside setting and bottomless Aperol spritzes sweeten the deal.

This James Beard-nominated Italian restaurant from chef James Trees serves lunch, dinner, and a beautiful weekend brunch in a bright, inviting space. Downtown denizens and visitors who heed the call away from the Strip come here for housemade pasta, charcuterie, warm sourdough bread with burrata and sea salt, creative cocktails, and a killer Italian wine list. Lively and upscale without any pretension, Esther’s Kitchen is the charming neighborhood locale you’ll fall in love with whether you’re celebrating an anniversary or reuniting with old friends.

À propos du restaurant
Raise a glass to old-fashioned glamour and stunning Fremont Street views from beneath a glass dome at Oscar’s Steakhouse. The Plaza’s flagship restaurant, named after former Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman (who has been known to stop by for a gin martini from time to time), was seen in Martin Scorsese’s 1995 film Casino. It still offers a cinematic experience today. Enjoy a romantic dinner centered around classic Las Vegas menu items such as shrimp cocktail, crab cakes, and prime rib, and then linger in the lounge for a cocktail or two.
