The Mockingbrd calls itself a diner. But inside, it feels more like a hipster cafe you would find in Brooklyn, with white marble tabletops, trendy teal booths, and gigantic windows. One of the most popular menu items at The Mockingbird is the $2 tacos, available on Tuesdays from 4pm to 10pm at their weekly "Tiki Taco Tuesday." There are five creative taco options including Kale Seitan (with al pastor seitan), Barbarbarbarbarbacoa (with shredded beef), Holy Mole! (with mole chicken), Pig Latin (with pork carnitas), and El Mushroom (with roasted mushrooms). Wash down a taco with a $5 tiki drink, available only on Tuesdays. The Mockingbird is in a convenient location, in the northern part of the Gulch, close to downtown.
