Dreadful. Mother’s Day lunch. First thing - the waiter broke a glass across the table leaving shards all over. Food was barely edible - processed sauces that tasted as if from a jar. Six people were packed in making it impossible to move. Will not return.

The food was the absolute worst, inedible. Had the Veal Fontana. The veal was "processed" and tasted like wet cardboard, poorly seasoned and cool, not hot. It was supposed to have lump crab, exactly two pieces of lump crab smothered in sliced mozzarella that was barely melted and a horrible blush sauce. My partner had veal in a red sauce that tasted like it can out of a can and overdosed in oregano. We could not eat what was served and very sad as this was supposed to be our 37th. anniversary dinner. We are Italian and know good from mediocre to bad... this was bad food. The appetizers were fair but very salty. I had the fried artichokes, and my partner had the burrata with what was supposed to be prosciutto, it was really a different type of ham product or certainly not like Italian prosciutto that I am used to getting in little Italy on 9th. street. It was a $120 dinner of food that would be embarrassed to serve my family. The server was pleasant and polite and that's about the best I can say for La Fontanna Della Citta. Do yourself a favor, with hundreds of restaurants in Philly, go somewhere else. If I could give them zero stars, I would.

The table was ready on time and the server polite and knowledgeable. Our table of six ordered mostly pastas and seafood. Everyone enjoyed their food while talking and socializing. We were definitely eating between talking when the server started removing our plates which all had food remaining on them. One person asked for boxes and ONLY she received her remaining meal. They threw all the rest out! I think the servers should ask EACH diner if they want to take their food home. Unacceptable. He also threw out the cork to the half full wine bottle.

Waited over 30 minutes past 6:30pm reservation to be seated. Table seated at was caddy corner to another table and there was barely room behind my chair and adjacent tables chair. Waitstaff kept squeezing by and bumping into my chair the whole time. I am sure this would be considered a fire and safety hazard. We were rushed through our meal and waitress was pushy, not genuine, and kept asking if our check was ready to pay, while we were still finishing dessert, tiramisu was partially frozen. We only spent 55 minutes eating our meal and was rushed. We were very disgusted and disappointed with the experience. Have dined many times before and it is usually a good experience. Restaurant was clearly overbooked. They should be honest with the wait time (was told 15ish minutes) or stop accepting reservations they cannot accommodate in a timely manner.

Terrible service, we had someone with severe allergies. Told the waiter multiple times, he brought food with product causing allergic reaction in it. We could smell it. He did not apologize, took long time to bring just plain pasta and try to change us $22 for it. When we ask to take it off our bill, he argued with us that pasta had source, which wasn’t true. We asked for manager who spoke with us very rude, but end of talking pasta off the bill. This is was the worst service we ever had. Will never be back here

Service was excellent - food delicious. Prices have gotten a bit high lately and the 4% charge for using credit cards should be eliminated and factored into the higher prices.

Need to make it clearer that it's BYOB. Server almost had me leaving based on her reaction to my missing that point. But she did tell me how to find the nearest state store to get some wine (but it's a pretty bad state store).

Outside tables unstable from the top to the support. Went inside. Only ones inside. Skimpy basic Caesar salad. Tough veal cafeteria style with slices of cheese on top. Clam broth basic melted butter, some garlic low quality wine. Mushroom risotto was the highlight served warm, creamy. By the way- no liquor license.

Went with a group of friends! We had an absolute blast, the wait staff was a little less attentive then I’d prefer but everything came out in a timely manner. The past was amazing, we all shared many dishes & enjoyed it family style! Highly recommend!

The food was excellent but the specials were much too expensive and of course we did not know the price because we did not ask. The room that we were in was very nice. But there was a backroom where the patrons were screaming loud for about 5 minutes before a waiter quieted them down. It made the experience very difficult.

Ver disappointing! Management has changed and not for the better. This was one of our favorite places but I could tell right away things were different. I got my usual fish, chicken parm. In a word it was awful. Nothing like it use to be. In addition they are now adding a 4 percent surcharge if you use credit! I don’t think I’ll be back.

Everything was perfect! Our waitress was very accommodating and pleasant. Our food was delicious. We had a seafood fettuccine special, fettuccine Alfredo, and chicken Parmesan. Everything was good! The pasta is fresh and delicious. Thank you for a pleasant experience!

Another fantastic night at this Center City treasure! Excellent food paired with our own BYOB wine. A terrific value!! Speaking of terrific, we were thrilled to have Ola as our server. She has been a favorite for several years now and with good reason. Personable, attentive, professional, she is the whole package!! We will be back!

My husband is not able to eat onions and asked for pasta carbonara, which does not traditionally have onions. He reiterated, “no onions.” Obviously his request was ignored due to his body’s reaction to the meal over the next several hours. As a result, he missed the 2nd half of the orchestra performance. I don’t think your servers are adequately trained. She wrote nothing down. Nice ambience. Quiet enough for dinner conversation. But we won’t be back. It’s too bad. You need to pay attention to these things.

Overall it was very good, food was great and the server always kept checking on us. Surprisingly it was only my table and another table there on a Sunday evening. But no bad experience.

I recently dined at La Fontana Della Citta. I don't normally write reviews here but the service at this restaurant was incredibly poor. We were shushed by the waiters even though we were speaking at the same volume as others in the restaurants. The waiters were incredibly rude and blunt. Would not recommend to dine here at all if you don't want the attitude from the servers and waiters.

This place was overwhelmed with customers. Had a reservation and waited an additional 45 minutes to get a table. The food and service were good. Nothing special just good. The most disappointing part was how loud the place was. We could hardly hear each other speak. The room we were in was the back room with little atmosphere, just large groups being very loud.
