As soon as Amy Chanta flung open the doors in 1989 Chat Thai became an instant smash hit with Sydney diners already familiar with Thailand and no appetite for compromising on ingredients, flavours, textures and aromas. Searching all across Sydney for the correct vegetables, herbs and sauces Amy was able to set herself apart through a stubborn dedication to reminding diners of their unforgettable food experiences on the streets of Bangkok.Three decades later we are proud to continue Amy’s vision by adding organic vegetables from Boon Luck Farm to serve up authentic Thai dishes we ourselves want to eat. Unique flavours the Thai diaspora crave from the motherland but struggle to find outside of their own home cooking.
Chat Thai became an instant smash hit in 1989 when it opened its first restaurant with plenty of heat and authentic Thai dishes. We've since added restaurants in Circular Quay, Westfield Sydney, Neutral Bay, Chatswood and Galeries Victoria, and in 2015 we added organic, fresh produce from our farm in Byron Bay. We are a team of food loving folks who turned much of our attention to traditional sourdough bread and the foods that accompany it.Our offering changes with the seasons and is influenced by our desire to provide people with better choices for their health - creating real food for our community. This vision is brought to life through our suppliers of sustainable and organic ingredients which provide us with most of the ingredients we use in our kitchen and sell in the cafes.We use ASP certified sustainable flour from our mates at Wholegrain Milling Co. who mill slowly and at cooler temperatures to preserve the precious essential enzymes and nutrients.
