This is a lovely restaurant- hubby loved his Arnold Palmer but a bit disappointed with the salmon-tasted not quite as fresh as he’d expected. My pasta of the day was very tasty and the roasted asparagus was perfect.

The raclette and chicken were fabulous but unfortunately the New York strip steak was too thin for them to get it medium rare. It came out medium twice but the sauce and the fries were quite good.

The ambiance was lovely and our waitress was nice and funny. However, the service was quite slow and (personally) we think our food lacked flavor. The Mac and cheese was good. My partner had ordered the rack of lambs and enjoyed the cut but it didn’t quite hit the spot. I ordered the Bouillabaisse and the flavor was okay. I usually love mussels but didn’t care much for the ones in this stew. On the way out, we stopped by the bakery for some dessert to go. The macarons didn’t have the slight crunch we were looking for and were too wet for our liking. Overall, it was an okay experience.

Our dining experience was memorable, and very delicious from the very beginning to the exit. We enjoy the little touches of our Date night gift, attentiveness from Rosie, many ways of highlighting ramps on the pasta dish, the crispy skin on the salmon, and bidding farewell with artful desserts in tote. Thank you for enlightening all of our 5 senses, and treating us like royalty!

Onion soup is super--well caramelized onions, rich broth, plenty of Gruyere. Breads are also outstanding. Bouillabaisse was elegantly served but a bit of a disappointment for the price. Fish pieces and scallops were overcooked and bland, muscles were plump and good, shrimp were also large and good, and little potatoes fingers were good. Server was a very good-natured gent who obviously knows proper table service. We like the central-Lancaster location and the bakery (which is how you get to the restaurant) is amazing though pricey. I mean, real baguettes in Lancaster? Yes! And authentic croissants, too. We didn't buy any of the many sweet pastries, but they look amazing.

This was my first time here, but if I'm in the area again I would definately go back. Everything we ate was delicious and perfectly cooked. The salmon in particular was outstanding.

Even the music replicates a European Bistro. The food, (chef owned) service and setting are perfect for a date night (which my wife and I have several times a month). We tend to order the Moules Fritts and the Steak Fritts because they are both perfect. Mike at the bar is an artist and he remembers the way great bartenders do. The wait staff has been there "forever" and this team gives Bistro Barberet an casual ambiance between "neighborhood bistro" and "private club" (both the kind of places where everyone knows your name). Never disappoints.

Kayla was as Usual Amazing!! She is a definite reason to visit Barberet, as the food speaks for itself. I would say “consistency” is their main goal. Every dish every time we visit is incredible!! We have never been disappointed!!! Salute 🍸🍸

Server Michael was very helpful and attentive. He gave us space while we decided but didn’t neglect us in any way. He offered guidance with choices. The food was great. I had Steak Frites. Steak was tender. Sauce was so good. Fries were nice and crispy. The dessert was phenomenal.

Server made a few mistakes with the bill, other than that it was good. Smaller portions for price but good for a fancy night out. Sure there are better places for the cost tho.

This is our new must-go restaurant in Lancaster. Every time we visit, which is often, we start with a delicious cocktail, begin our meal with some scrumptious French Onion Soup, and then dine on a delectable entree. They're all amazing. On our way out, we purchase some of their awesome pastries, both for dessert and for breakfast the next day.

An island of calm and delight! The atmosphere was subdued and relaxing. The service was cheerful, attentive and helpful. The food was magnificent. Our cocktails and wine were close to perfection. One of the best meals we have ever had. Even the vegetables on the side were heavenly. Thank you for a great evening and dining experience!

The food was amazing and the cocktails were incredible! Mike was one of the best bartenders we’ve had. The espresso martinis were 10/10. Order the Mac & cheese app and French onion soup for sure. Desserts were also amazing. We’ll be back!

Oysters were perfect, clean and tender. The coffee ice cream with the lava cake was truly outstanding.

Repeat diners here at Bistro Barberet & Bakery and again we were not disappointed. It is a limited menu with respect to entrees, but they are all outstanding. here are evening specials as well, if you have a concern. The soups, the salads (my favorite is the Caesar) are wonderful. On this night we enjoyed the Caesar Salad, the escargot, loin lamb chops and the Wednesday night regular offering, the Lobster Risotto. The kitchen does amazing work and it shows in every dish. The demi-glaze that accompanied the lamb explosive in flavor. I tried not to order the Lobster Risotto but I couldn't help myself. I had it the last time we were in town and it is still a go to for me. We did not have room for dessert this time and that is a pity given the in house handmade and designed desserts. So for lunch or dinner the bistro is open. The bakery sells beautiful sandwiches and lunch offerings for takeout, as well, a in house made breads and rolls. Outstanding coffee can be had here in the morning as well. Should be on anyone's bucket list.

Outstanding restaurant. Very thankful we were able to get a reservation the same evening- our food was outstanding- my wife and I each got the special for the evening, hers was Cajun seared tuna, which was cooked perfectly, and mine the braised short rib, which was spectacular. Very fine dining experience, and our server was personable and provided outstanding service. We will be back again and again when we come back to Lancaster
