De la cuisine jusqu'au bar, tout ce qui vous est servi au Wood Chicago provient de leur passion à explorer des combinaisons uniques de saveur. Le Wood, c'est beaucoup plus qu'un nom! Le four à bois du restaurant est au cœur de tout ce qu'ils ont à offrir. Le menu vous propose une cuisine américaine composée de plusieurs petites assiettes à partager et toujours conçues avec les meilleurs ingrédients de la saison. Bien que les plats changent régulièrement, quelques éléments restent toujours les mêmes : la viande est dépecée sur place à partir d'animaux élevés avec beaucoup d'humanité, les légumes sont issus de fermes familiales locales et toutes les pâtes et saucisses sont fraîchement préparées, directement dans la cuisine du Wood.

Really cute restaurant but when I asked in advance if they have gluten free options, they said they have ways to substitute so it wouldn’t be an issue but when we got there, there really was only a few items they could substitute to be gluten free so it didn’t give much options. Appetizers weren’t entered so we didn’t get food until an hour after being seated which was also rough but mistakes happen. Overall okay experience. Their cocktails were great though so that was a winning part of our experience.

This was one of the strangest dining experiences I’ve had. I arrived for my reservation and asked to be seated outside. I was in a party of 3 with my mom and sister. I was told the outside tables were only for parties of four. I said that the three of us would fit at the table for four. (There were several tables open outside and the inside restaurant was mainly empty). The host ended up getting a manger who reiterated that because we were a party of 3 we were not able to be seated at a table meant for 4. (There were only 2 and 4-tops on the outdoor patio). I ended up walking across the street to another restaurant and asked if we’d be able to sit outside there. They were very accommodating. I ended up cancelling my reservation at Wood. As the other restaurant was directly across the street, it was clear to see that 4-tops on Wood’s patio (multiple!) remained open and available during the duration of our meal. I have never had a negative restaurant experience like this. I’m not sure why they didn’t want our business.

Wine was good - especially at happy hour prices :)! And the cheese board was delicious as well as the Rampzza flat bread. Waitress was very attentive too!

Dinner at Wood was comfy and delicious. We come often but there is always something new and seasonal. New for us last night were Gougere puffs filled with Parmesan cream, Pork belly with strawberry, rhubarb, pickled asparagus & Wood grilled sturgeon & shrimp with local peas. Drinks were half price (Tuesday & Wednesdays). There is always room for dessert! Strawberries & Cream - lemon cake & ruby chocolate ganache. Raspberry, blackberry Napoleon - cardamom cream. Chocolate & Hazelnut Profiterole - dark chocolate cremeux. Yum!

Brunch was delightful! Server was friendly and attentive—enjoyed our drinks and food. The house-made pork belly in the Croque Madam was tender, meaty, crispy & unctuous. Rich dish but loved every bite including the incredible fries. Bibimbap was well seasoned, kimchi very fresh, mushrooms, pickled kohlrabi, eggs jammy. Asparagus in the spring omelette cooked perfectly, beef fried potatoes light, fluffy & crispy. Portions generous & beautifully plated.
