Our food was delicious, the server did an excellent job. We were seated in a small room with a large party of 8-10 people next to us and it was hard to hear our own conversation at our little table of 2! Overall a enjoyable dinner out.

We were celebrating our 13th anniversary. While we had reservations for 5:30 pm, my husband and I showed up early at 5 pm because we had finished shopping early. While we didn’t get the best table, we were quickly accommodated and seated at another table. Our server was great and she had a lot of restaurant experience to share what she would recommend. Our food was amazing and it tasted just as good when we reheated them as leftovers. We loved the house salad vinaigrette so much that we are looking to replicate it this summer for healthier meal options. Thank you so much for a great anniversary dinner!

We had a reservation and we were seated right away. Service was prompt and our food came out quickly. Everything was delicious! This is a great spot in the heart of downtown Galena, IL.

EVERYTHING was wonderful!! If I was forced to give anything negative, it was that we couldn’t eat it all and, since we were not n vacation, we couldn’t take it with us. Awesome time!! I would not miss the place if you are eating in Galena.

Love Vinny’s. 5 stars everytime. Had a new waiter, Ray, who was very knowledgeable about the wines and the entrees. Always makes the experience better when your questions are easily answered

We arrived for our 7:30pm reservation for my darling girlfriend’s birthday, as communicated on the reservation, with a party of 8. Our table was not ready, and the host did not seem to know what was going on. We were sent upstairs on our own to find their second dining room to find another host who did not know who we were and seem unconcerned about our desire to eat. We finally sat down and our waiter brought us waters. Our waitress never asked what brought us in, did not ask if we had ever been there before, nor did she ask if we had any questions. She took our drink order, but did not offer any suggestions. We ordered some apps and as soon as the bruschetta came out, we knew our dinner may be in trouble. The plate looked like we were about to find the cameras in a candid camera episode of kitchen nightmares. Gordon Ramsay would never let that plate out of the kitchen. The dry toast had a single slice of semi-fresh bland tomato, with a slab of aged fresh mozzarella, drizzled with balsamic glaze all surrounded by a spring salad. The stuffed mushrooms were covered in cheese, so can’t go too bad, but other than a vague general “seafood” flavor, there wasn’t much flavor present. But those apps are were just the opening act to the dinner. Our party of 8 had 2 people not even had more than a couple bites. The Alfredo sauce tasted jarred/canned. We as a table laughed and spoke loudly about our dining experience, but no one was interested in our displeasure. Our waitress seemed to stop making eye contact. The birthday was never acknowledged. I wanted to give my lady a memorable birthday, and the experience we had may not have been enjoyable, but it will certainly be remembered.

Food was ice cold, told server. Been going for years and both food and service has gone downhill. Extremely dissapointed $140 for dinner for 2. Culver’s would of been better. Also emailed restaurant and not a response back at all. Will not be back

Great service, a very cool looking restaurant in a really great community. That’s kind of where my accolades end. My wife and both ordered entrees and a glass of wine. The wine was not good and the food was bland and not real hot when it was served. The marinara sauce was lacking any Italian spice flavor and a little watery. The eggplant was tough and apparently had not been prepped to remove some of the water in the slices prior to frying. The result was an extremely soggy dish. I have eaten Eggplant Parmesan many times and can always tell when the proper steps in the preparation of eggplant have not been applied. Maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes. We didn’t feel this was a good experience.

Very disappointed with this place. Had the lasagna and seafood fettuccine; each dish was terrible. The Italian sausage looked like it was boiled and had a weird consistency. The ricotta cheese was super thick and overwhelming. Quite possibly the worst lasagna I’ve ever had. The seafood fettuccine had no flavor. The cream sauce was supposed to be similar to Alfredo (according to the waitress) but tasted like it was just heavy cream and no other seasonings. Tried to save the dish by adding what was available at the table (S&P, hot chilies, Parmesan cheese) and it was still bad. Unclear what other people have eaten here to give it such a high rating, but I could never recommend anyone coming here. The garlic bread and salad were fine. Service was okay. We were celebrating a birthday which was acknowledged when we arrived but never by the waitress which was odd. Though after the food, didn’t care the we didn’t have to experience the dessert. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to fried green tomatoes instead. Sad that this place isn’t better. It has great potential but needs to get better chefs that know what flavor is.

Vinny's has a very warm and cosy atmosphere on a number of levels. Our server Brent was very attentive with good recommendations. The salad and cheesy garlic bread was included in the price of the meal and delicious. The food was plentiful and hot. A very neat restaurant to try in Galena and we are very glad that we followed the recommendation to make a reservation.

Great solid Italian restaurant with traditional dishes. Love all the little rooms and decor. Went there once with just my husband and another time with our kids. Both visits didn’t disappoint. Also, love the salad and garlic bread that comes with many of the dishes. We will be back again.

It’s charming interior and looks cute perched on a hill. The food we ordered- veal parmigiana and chicken Marsala were not good at all. It didn’t have the flavors and were quite bland. The Marsala had capers, which I don’t typically see in chicken Marsala. The price was too much for what was offered. Kids chicken Alfredo was $17. I get that this place has been around galena for a long time, but history and longevity doesn’t always equal good food. so bummed about our experience here.

The atmosphere in the main restaurant is much more desirable than the bistro. You need specify when you make a reservation that you don’t want to sit in the bistro!

For starters, the waitress was very professional. The salad and bread very tasty. The Baked Seafood Italiano was amazing. My wife's Penne Chicken Romano was average. The tiramisu was quite bland. For the prices, I would expect linen napkins, not paper. The water that was served had quite a mineral taste to it. If I am spending almost $100 for a meal for 2, I should not be served water that hints of dish soap. Maybe the locals are used to the taste, but it reminded me of artesian water from South Dakota.

The staff was helpful and friendly. The decor and ambience of the restaurant was nice and very Italian. The food could have been better. The fettucini alfredo was terrible to be honest, alfredo out of a jar was better than what I was served. My partner's manicotti meal was good, but a little steep in price for the amount of food served. Prices were steep all around honestly. I don't know if I would come back here.

Our service was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing, the food however… definitely not amazing or worth what we paid for our entrees. The Seafood in my baked linguini dish had zero flavor and there was almost no Alfredo sauce in the dish. The manicotti noodles in my fiancé’s dish were mushy. Very disappointing. The meatballs and the salad were very good, however. Be careful what you order.

We found "Little Italy" on the web. The weather was terrible, and few people were in -Galena. Not what we had hoped for when planning our mid-winter escape. Despite the weather, we delighted in the quaint approach of Main Street. Vinny Vanucchi's was like walking into a friend's home. Johnatan was our efficient waiter and our dining experience was memoriable. Liltte Italy will remain on our list of restaurants to revisit in the future.

Food was delicious and came out in short time. Appetizers and salad were great! Such a neat location and fun place!
