We were sat in a very noisy area just inside the entrance. It took a long time to meet our server and then a long wait for drinks We ordered a mixed starter which took a while but was a great dish. When the plates were cleared our dirty cutlery was placed back on the table and we were told to reuse it. With dirty cold food all over it we were left to wipe it clean on the tablecloth. The mains were paella and slow cooked pork. We said we wanted to share them but no sharing plates were provided and not even a plate for disposal of the paella debris. Overall service and noisy ambience detracted from what was actually good food

Absolutely fabulous!!! One of my favorite restaurants in the last 20+ years. Delicious authentic food, great service, ambiance, just always a pleasure to dine at Victor’s Cafe.

Well the food was outstanding as usual, but I have to say I was a bit surprised at the waiting time it took for us to receive service a waiter. From the time we sat down it took over 15 minutes for any one to come to our table and even give us water. I am a regular I first came to this restaurant 25 years ago. I always talk highly of this restaurant to my friends and family and always have recommended it. But I feel the service and ambience has changed greatly and not for the better. Unfortunately that will be my last time at Victors Cafe, but I take with me many fond memories.

Always love the food and atmosphere here. I brought a friend who had never been here and had my first bad experience. :( We got to the restaurant about 10 min early and went to check in. The matre d said that they were busy and just because we were here, we shouldn’t expect to get seated early. She was a little curt but I took it in stride. We didn’t ask to be seated early. We went to the bar and got a drink. About 10 min past our reservation time, I went to check with her and she informed me that she didn’t have a reservation for me. I asked her why she didn’t mention this when we checked in and she said we had walked off to the bar so she didn’t bother. I pulled up my Open Table confirmation and she looked again and (miraculously) she found our reservation. Then she said, ‘oh your table is ready’. No apology, no acknowledgement that she was wrong and kept us waiting for no reason. Now she has to wait for us to close out our bar tab so that took time and she was not happy to be kept waiting. By the time we got seated, we ended up just ordering appetizers because we had to catch a show and were so late. I will come back here since the food is great and this has never happened before. As someone who has actually been to Cuba, I enjoy revisiting the food and drink of this amazing culture!

Great classic in NYC for Cuban cuisine. You cannot go wrong with the masitas de puerco en tostones for starters and vaca frita and ropa vieja for main dishes.

The AC going full blast on a cool rainy day made us have to change tables when we got too chilled to enjoy our meal. The red snapper dish was superb but quite pricy at $49. Sadly, the tasty paella was marred by several shrimp that were “off.” A disappointing meal.

Great food as usual and good service too. Our only issue was that it was quite chilly where we were seated (toward the back) which got much worse when ceiling fans directly above us started blowing. I had to put my coat on. When we mentioned this to a staff member, he said nothing could be done -- the fans come on automatically when more people arrive and they eventually turn off. We waited a bit for them to turn off, then gave up and left earlier than we would have otherwise because it was so uncomfortable. The front of the restaurant was much warmer.

I've been to Victor's several times but this is my first review. The food, service and ambience is all delightful. Everything I've eaten is delicious and the coffee cubano is perfect. If you have a time crunch for the theater they will always accommodate you. Don't miss having a meal here!

Excellent food, sophisticated menu, good service. We particularly liked the croquetas, the bacalao fritters and the ropa vieja. Far above the Cuban food we found in leading Miami restaurants.

The food was fantastic, and the service was excellent! Our train rides from Stratford, Connecticut, are worth it. It is always a pleasure to return to Victor's. Armando is always pleasant, very attentive, and cordial.

We had a wonderful time. The ambiance was incredible, food amazing and the service was top notch. The black beans are something special! We couldn’t stop eating them! Victor’s Cafe is a must whenever you visit the Big Apple. I can’t wait until next time.

Our waiter, Diego, was really great - super friendly and made good suggestions. The service in general was excellent - entire staff was very attentive. The Cuban guacamole was really good, as were all of our entrees and desserts. The cocktails were very tasty as well - really nice mojito! Nothing at all negative to say about the our experience at Victor's!

We LOVE Victor's Cafe. For more than twenty years we have kept going back there for special occasions, with friends, or for a romantic date. We are always spoiled by the head waiter, Mr. Armando. They found us a very nice table at the corner, in the main dining room. And they bring the food fast so we don't miss our show! One of the best in Broadway. Don't miss the MOJITO, it's to die for.

We had a wonderful dinner before going across the street for the Cabaret at The Kit Kat Club. The food and the theater were equally perfect. We all had Ceviche de Salmon and Ceviche de Pargo as an appetizer. For a main course three of us had whole Bronzino’s for a main course and the fourth person had Chicken. The food was as good as the play!

We really enjoyed our brunch in this lovely Cuban restaurant with the authentic taste of Cuba. The place is renovated and the seating was not as crowded as it used to be. Not only the food was excellent but the ambiance was also relaxing and the service amazing as always!

We waited over 30 min for a table we had reserved. When we were seated, there was a significant delay for drinks. Dinner arrived promptly as we told waiter we had a show to catch. Pork was very salty. Yucca was flavorless. Rice was good. Very loud environment.

This was my first time to Victor's. I took my cousin there for her 70th birthday, it was her request. The mojitos were excellent. We started with the classic and then my cousin had the mango mojito and I, the coconut...both delicious. We shared the tostones and salad to start. Our main entrees were the shrimp and pork, all excellent. I would highly recommend Victor's. The dining area in the back is like being in an outdoor plaza, very bright, airy and green. The location is great with a parking garage across the street and the theater district all around. Great spot for a delicious bite before or after a play.

Love coming to Victor’s. Cuban food at its best. The paella with vegetables was a hit with a side of maduros complimented the dish. The red sangria, not to be missed. Armando Cantalapiedra ,the captain waiter, is great!

I love Victor’ Cafe. The food is just amazing. But last night our waiter was VERY RUDE. He was impatient and had an attitude. I understand that everyone there was going to see a Broadway show and it was busy, but there was no need for him to be rude when I asked him a question. Shout out to Marlon at the bar! He is amazing and so friendly.
