This is our favorite place for dinner before Music Center events. Service and food are consistently excellent, wine list is good, tables aren’t too close to each other, and I love that they’re always happy to swap the white napkins for black ones!

Flavorful northern Italian/California style food, well served, lots of choices. Nice wine list including by the glass. Great before concerts in nearby venues.

I used to like Vespaio with its delicious Panini menu and there was no music such that conversation with my guest was pleasant. This time they had loud music and alarm was off x2 (don't know the origin - perhaps kitchen?). I asked the waiter to turn down the music, but nothing happened!

Very disappointing experience. Seafood pasta tasted old and low quality - inedible. Pasta was mediocre. Bad wine list. Understaffed and poor service. The table next to us was upset too. Gone way downhill. Not worth the price. Avoid. Much better restaurants for pre theater dinner.

Wait staff was outstanding, attentive, friendly with great follow up. The grilled octopus dish had great flavors but the octopus was cut too thin and was tough. Outstanding Aperol Spritzes! Great location for attending the LA Philharmonic.

We wanted a nice pre concert dinner at this conveniently located restaurant, but instead were stressed, annoyed and disappointed which started our evening out on a very sour note! The hostess desk was slammed with angry people trying to get seated. Once we were seated, our waiter was short and rude…never offered us water or drinks! Food was marginal too. Our server never checked in on us and never offered us dessert or coffee. Felt like a cafeteria versus a nice restaurant.

Food was good, but the service was chaotic and disorganized. Arrived for my reservation on time, but still had to wait for a while to be seated. Our table was sort of a makeshift table that was seemingly placed there due to needing more tables to accommodate all the reservation. It seemed overbooked. Our seats were flimsy (those foldable canvas "director" chairs) and the table didn't feel sturdy. Seats and tables definitely not the "regular" tables/seats. We were also halfway into the corridor, so people and waitstaff were brushing against us as they made their way to the restroom. The wrong dish arrived on our table, it sat there for a couple of minutes before one of the lead waitstaff caught it and he rushed over and took it off our table and said that was not the correct dish. So we had to wait for them to prepare the right order. This was all a bit disappointing. The food was good but not superb, the service wasn't bad but it wasn't at the level expected of this price point.

Four of us went to dinner at Vespaio and had a wonderful meal. Francis, our server, was excellent: friendly, attentive, and efficient, as were the other servers. Everyone loved their meals and cocktails.

Soup was ok, gluten free pizza was good. Drinks were tasty but pricy and fairly watered down. GF pasta dish was served as a pile of penne swimming in red sauce—no Parmesan, no basil, boring. When I asked for Parmesan I was brought dried grated cheese. Very disappointed to pay $30 for a dish I could have done much better at home.

Everything was delicious! Server was fantastic and speedy considering we went there before a performance. My friend and I both had one of the specials, halibut, it was very good and a nice big filet. A bit pricey though, I had one “well” drink, my friend had a soda and it was $135-no appetizer and no dessert or coffee

The food is delicious and service was good considering how busy they were. They need more wait staff. Our server was very nice but rushed in explaining the specials and taking our order. Also, it took longer than it should for us to get our bottle of wine.

This restaurant is a good option for pre-opera/symphony/theater. The portions are decent, and the prices reasonable given the location and setting. Usually we have good service, although this time the busboy repeatedly didn't listen to us and/or turned his back to us while we were still speaking. At these prices, I'd like the staff to listen when we're talking, and at least ask us to repeat if it's too noisy to be understood. Also, be wary of their multiple "specials": ask for the price. This is one of those places wherein the waiter lists a lot of "specials," which are not printed anywhere, and doesn't say how much they cost. I'm glad I asked the prices. A chicken dish (chicken parmagiano if I'm recalling correctly) was $52--far higher than any of the prices on their printed menu. That being said, there are a lot more dishes to choose from (even in their printed menu) than their competitors which are closer to the venues (Kendall's and Abernethy's). Some tables are quite close to one's neighbors, although there are some tables with more elbow room.

We arrived on time for our reservation for three at 5:45 but were served just after 7:00. The show was at 7:30, so we had to rush eating. The server assured us when we arrived that there would be no problem, and yet we observed that people seated after us were served before.

Really good choice for pre-concert dinner. Service was efficient and food was served quickly and was quite good. Was concerned that even with a reservation, there was a little wait, but they went through the queue quickly and we ended up with more than enough time. Would love to go back if I’m in the area again.

I belong to a theatre group and we like coming here before or after a show at the music center. The good and ambiance are great. Last night the service was a bit spotty and it took a while to get drinks and food orders but the food was delicious and everyone had a good time. There were seven of us and we had a very nice spot on the enclosed patio. Everyone loved the food and we'll likely be back after our next theater outing.

We enjoyed this restaurant. It's location is perfect before performances at the Music Center. Valet parking is available. The restaurant was very busy and the tables are very close to each other. We made friends with rhe adjoining tables. Food was delicious but the service could have been more attentive. Perhaps they needed more servers. Bussing table was very prompt. We will return soon.

Since I made my reservation late, I booked a seat at the bar. Because there were a number of events happening nearby the bar was very busy. But the service remained attentive, informative, and friendly. The food was delicious - carefully prepared and attractive. I chose the seared ahi as my appetizer and risotto with filet mignon au jus as my main. The ahi was appropriately paired with a fennel and arugula salad. The risotto was perfectly creamy yet slightly al dente. And the filet au jus tender and flavorful. The wine list provided many selections to pair with my choices. All in all, a wonderful dinner experience.

Food was good, nothing spectacular but the service was not good. They dropped our order and the people sitting next to us, who sat after us, ended up finishing their entrees before we even got our apps. They looked short staffed.

Terrible. Don't go here. Bad, rude service but management. Good was awful and I'm mad we had to pay for it. Not good at handling food allergies or caring about cutsomers. Awful all around.

This was the first time we were seated outside along the walk to the entrance. Usually we opt for the patio. We were unsure of the arrangement, but it proved to be a pleasant location after 5 pm when we were seated. We enjoyed the view of the trees and traffic was light. It was quieter than the patio when it is full, so we were able to talk softly and enjoy our conversation during the meal. As always, we loved our dinner at Vespaio. Service was outstanding too.

Vespaio's standard menu is always good but their specials are often standouts. This was the case with the corn soup garnished with black truffle slices and the prosciutto and melon which were presented in a singularly decorative fashion. The prosciutto encased burrata and was accompanied by glazed walnuts and truffle slices. The melon was thinly sliced and arrayed on the plate so artfully I felt guilty disturbing the pattern...but I did. Clark was my server and I hope to sit in his section again. He was very helpful with his recommendations and made me feel most welcome as a solo diner which on rare occasions is not my experience.

I had forgotten that pizza is not Vespaio’s strength; my Pizza Romana was good, but not remarkable. Instead, go for more unique menu items. The mushroom soup was special in that the broth was purely vegetarian - you’d swear it was cream-based (in a good way). My wife’s chopped chicken breast salad was winner. I recall from past visits that Vespaio does very well with its dishes using its house-made pasta. Excellent service; mostly well-dressed business clientele during the lunch hour.

Usually I give Vespacio a high rating but a poor overpriced special, Sea Urchin spaghetti, really turned me off. I was also ignored for 20 minutes after my plate was removed and had to ask for a check. The special had one over cooked prawn and too high level of garlic.

Dishes always are prepared and presented beautifully. Portions are large enough for sharing family style, with a salad, pizza, and the pappardelle pasta along with dessert suiting our group of three ladies perfectly. Wine selection by the glass is not deep, but the options are fine ones.

My friends and I had the lamb and pork belly panini and hamburger. Everything was delicious except some of the chips tasted stale today which was unusual. When I told the server, he said the chips were homemade. Fav desserts were the delectable apple crumble and torta de la nona. 15% discount if you show that you have tickets to the Music Center. Easy 15 walk to the Ahmanson to see Funny Girl.

We shared 3 appetizers between 2 of us and it was more than enough food for dinner. Everything is fresh and flavorful. The wine list is solid and reasonable, and the staff is gracious. This is a great pre-theater dinner spot.

Very fine in all ways. When it is very busy sometimes the service can seem pushy but tonight was smooth and very good. We were three diners and we were each very happy with our meals.
