Vee Vee in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, is a small, neighborhood restaurant operated by Kristen and Dan Valachovic. The food is best described as creative American, and we feature a well-curated wine and craft beer selection. The vibe is casual, and the menu modest but inventive. As of May 2022, we are open for indoor and outdoor dining in a seasonal patio by reservation or walk-in. We are also happy to offer takeout as well.

My wife and I and a friend really enjoyed our meal here last night. We went because the chef used to work at another great Boston restaurant where we admired his cooking, and because he’s a local “celebrity chef” having been a contestant on the current season of Top Chef. The menu is Mexican-ish - new menu for this restaurant as the chef just started - and mostly small plates for sharing. Tacos with fresh tortillas and fried fish or a chicken stew or birria with short rib type of meat and excellent spicing. Some vegetables -only plates including charred broccolini and a yummy tomato cucumber salad. Great sauces for everything yet felt like a pretty light meal - in a good way- despite the variety of sauces. Friendly and knowledgeable servers and fun neighborhood. Only issue, which wouldn’t be an issue for all, is that it felt like not an easy menu in terms of vegetarian options other than sides or snacks. But what this chef cooks up is magical!

A great dining experience. The new menu is wonderful, with many options for gluten free and vegan diners. Enjoyed everything we tried. Especially good was the fried rice, tacos, and scallops. Desserts excellent too.

We are loyal, long-time patrons. Enjoy the low key atmosphere, attentive service, excellent food, consistent quality, evident care and attention of the owners. Recent major shift: a new chef and mainly Caribbean menu. Quite different, but still high quality. Really interesting, fresh tastes and top quality ingredients. Not like anything else around-give it a try!

First chance to try Black Cat @ VeeVee and truly enjoyed the new menu from Chef Valentine! Great flavors (Caribbean theme) and interesting mix of small plates and more substantial mains. Enjoyed opening night and will definitely be back!

Black Cat at Vee Vee did not disappoint - Chef Valentine's new menu was a feast of fun flavors - each dish brought a unique blend of spicy and delicious! I loved the Birria, the Empennadas, the Tacos, the Street Corn, the Flank Steak and Broccolini to name just a few. And the Soursop ice cream - YUM!! Cannot wait to go back and try more of the menu. Highly recommend a visit or many.
