    Excellent menu, food preparation and presentation. The service, while friendly, was uneven and inefficient. For instance, after requesting additional bread rolls twice, they finally brought them out after we finished our main course and the table was cleared of the dishes. The biggest issue, however, was the relatively limited wine selection (not many local labels from the Healdsburg/Dry Creek area) as well as the unreasonably high mark-up.

    Great food and service. Don’t miss the scallop appetizer. They noted it was our anniversary and the food was amazing. Service was prompt and it was easy for my spouse and I to hear each other. Didn’t feel rushed and will go back there the next time in Sonoma.

    Our waiter was rushed off his feet. He was very good but he had no time to discuss the menu. It felt a little too rushed for a fine dining experience. The day scallops were excellent and so was the pork loin on the bone. So much meat that I couldn’t finish it. My husband who loves duck found his undercooked. At our request they cooked the duck some more but he still found it too gamey. Maybe we have never had this type of Liberty duck before? I think they must have been understaffed the night we went or there was a large private party also happening in their restaurant that night.

    Valette was AMAZING. Best steak I have ever had in Sonoma County. The owner, Dustin is so nice; he came by and greeted our table and talked. I noticed other tables got welcome champagne- we did not. Our servers were not friendly at all and seemed to be rushing us out of there the whole time. All in all this place gets 5 stars BECAUSE of the food and owner, but next time I will get the wine flight and 5 course meal to get the “attention” deserved. This place needs to work on their wait staff- they seemed unhappy…. For a place this nice we expect 5 star service. We were there 5/17, party of 3 at 5:15.

    I love visiting this restaurant every time I visit Healdsburg. Must haves are the scallops and often the duck. Unfortunately there was a bad mosquito problem on the deck for the first time, the steak was very undercooked (beyond rare, freezer cold in center), and the duck was a little tough compared to the typical melt-in-your-mouth consistently delivered for years in the past. They also revamped the iconic choose your courses tasting menus which was a little bit of a surprise. This is still a great place, just has lost its quality over time.

    A creative and ambitious menu but with limited options. The food is well-prepared. However, check the menu online before reserving. We originally planned to eat outside on the patio, but some flies and the sun drove us indoors. The interior is spacious and nicely decorated. Service was fine but I had expected it to be better.

    A wonderful setting for our Anniversary. We both chose the "Trust Me" Tasting menu and were not disappointed. Outstanding, memorable dishes, as always and the atmosphere was stellar, particularly after one rather loud table departed.

    Great experience! Enjoyed food/wine pairings. Server was extremely friendly and knowledgeable on wines from Sonoma. Highly recommend!
