Chef Gaetano Ascione brings international flair to Indiana. A native of Italy, and fluent in five languages, Chef Gaetano Ascione brings international flair to Munster, with experience, teaching, owning restaurants, consulting, and running hotels on four continents – Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. He served both Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan as Chef de Cuisine at the Georgetown Club in Washington, D.C., and served as Executive Chef for the Inaugural Banquet for President Nelson Mandela in South Africa.

He is a member of the Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs 1248-1950, the American Culinary Federation, and the Gruppo Virtuale Cuochi Italiani. Ascione was a finalist in the “Chef of the Year” competition at the World Gourmet Summit in Singapore in 2001.

Food was not worth the hefty price tag. The potatoes (mashed & fingerling) were completely unseasoned. The bar took 30 minutes to make 2 mixed drinks (there was almost nobody there). The wine selection was almost non existent if you just wanted a glass. If prices were halved, it would be worth it, but definitely not full price.

The manager was welcoming and offered desserts on the house for my birthday which was a nice gesture. Atmosphere was great and happy to see a place like this in the area. Our servant was nice but she seems inexperienced in the way she approached the bill splitting and charging. The kids menu is the best part, super fun to read. The main menu had a good selection of classic italian dishes and the wine selection was good. Food took too long to be served and some of it was a bit cold and lacked flavor. No fresh peppers was offered nor parmesan cheese. Overall, the place was pleasant but way overpriced for what it offers.

Our waitress was very nice and the restaurant has comfortable seats and beautiful decor. We ordered the burrata appetizer to start and it surprisingly came with only 1 crostini. The food was average and pricey. It was our first time eating there and not sure if we will go back.

I had the branzino entree and the presentation was very nice, although the skin was left on the fish and it was slimy and not edible. I took that off and the fish was tender and delicious. The fish skin needs to be pan seared or remove it. The dish was bland, it looked like it was gonna have a lot of flavor it just didn’t. The people dining with me had the salmon and pretty much said the same thing. The restaurant was empty, but it is beautiful very very nice ambience. I thought it was strange to have an Italian restaurant but really have no pasta entrées or Italian entrées on the menu and they also give you a barbecue menu and I don’t even think the best chef could a barbecue and Italian menu so that was strange. The service was good. My wine was good, the people couldn’t be nicer. I know a lot of people say that is expensive but I didn’t find that to be true.

The cocktail and service were very good. The food was horrible. It was very bland and there was no Parmesan or salt or pepper on the table. The bread was served without butter or oil and Parmesan. Do yourself a favor and go to Little Italy instead. The food is way better and a much better value.

Overpriced... The atmosphere was nice. We were seated right away. Our server was very personable. We ordered a cocktail apiece. After they arrived at the table, a few moments later the server came up and said there was a mistake with the drink, that we were given the wrong one. She left the original. She came up again and said the other was a mistake as well. The manager came up and took my drink that was a mistake. It was odd that one was left and the other was taken. When looking at the wine list, it was very over priced and limited. The menu was limited as well. A chicken breast was $29 and pasta slightly less than that. There was nothing special about the taste. It was esthetically pleasing to look at, but that was about it. We shared a tiramisu for dessert and it was good. For 2 drinks, 2 entrees, and a shared dessert, our bill was $122.00. There isn't enough about this restaurant that would make us want to come back to dine here again.

The food was good, but not great….i thought it was pricey . The service was absolutely outstanding. Our waitress was terrific and the other staff as well. I’m glad I tried it but I feel it’s overpriced imo. I wish them well.

The restaurant itself has a nice ambiance but sadly, the food was terrible. Being that it’s an Italian restaurant, there was no garlic, basil or flavor for that matter. Out of 3 dishes, everyone said the same about their dishes. Bland!!
