Our wait staff was fun and very attentive! Unfortunately, 3 of us order the whitefish and it was cold. Our first time, and we all left a little disappointed. We paid good money for cold food.

We were salivating waiting to have dinner at Toms Oyster Bar for Mother’s Day. We had drinks which were good. We had three appetizers, fried oysters, calamari and bang bang shrimp. We were very disappointed. The calamari was especially terrible. For dinner, fish and chips, no flavor or seasoning at all. The crab cakes were acceptable. The Lobster pasta was so so. The service was good however and we managed to enjoy ourselves in spite of.

This was my first time and I really enjoyed it! Lots of options to choose from at a reasonable price. The waitress was extremely helpful recommending different dishes and the overall vibe is small and intimate. I will definitely come back!

So disappointed. We started with the lobster egg roll special. All we could taste was ginger and carrots. My wife and I each ordered the lobster carbonara, it was tasteless. My son ordered the sumo sushi roll special. It came uncut so it was almost impossible to eat and cutting it with the steak knife we had to ask for didn’t really work either. 4th meal was a simple hamburger which was enjoyed. Service and drinks were very good. Don’t think we will go back.

This was the first time myself and my boyfriend visited Tom’s, and it did not disappoint!Our server John was attentive and helpful when deciding on menu options! The Espresso Martini was spot on, and the lobster roll was the best I’ve ever had!! This spot is perfect for a date night. We will definitely be back.

Too pricey for average food and drinks. Quite noisy for poor acoustics. Crowded seating. Tyree was a friendly and good server.

Over all it was okay. I added on a ceaser salad to my meal, it was horrible, I never had to eat a salad by first having to cut up all of the leafs. Plus the cost of an add on salad was a shock. The overall meal was okay, not worth having again.

It was okay. Oysters were surprisingly very small, when they were described as plump and pillowy...plus they should have separated them from shell so I didn't have to. Although I had to pick shell pieces from my mouth more often than not. Bartender and drinks were great. It's just definitely not the Tom's Oyster Bar of years past that we would wait patiently in line for. For having to pay over $4.25 per oyster and it not even be big enough to cover my fork was what will not have me returning. The Kabin Kruser Restaurant in downtown Rochester is 1,000% worth every penny, as their oysters are not only huge, but each kind is explained in detail and scrumptious.

Great experience from the moment we walked in. Excellent service! We had the spinach artichoke dip, fish and chips, and the dynamite shrimp tacos. Everything was delicious and plentiful.

The drinks were only okay and the perch was really mediocre. The red skin potatoes were tiny. Just really mediocre bar food.

We had a group of 5 and we had a great time. It was very crowded, but we had a reservation and were seated right away. We had the big booth at the back of the restaurant which was great, since it was so busy and a little noisy. All of our food was delicious. I had the shrimp and grits, 2 of the other women had the shrimp tacos, another had the jambalaya and I don't remember what the other person had. Everyone enjoyed the food, the drinks and the service.

Tom’s of old is long gone. Food is terrible at best and uninspired. Disorganized. Unwelcoming. No value. Crowd was loud and low class. Host seemed high as a kite (good for her, but for real…) No support staff for servers who seem maxed out. Where ever will we find another restaurant in Royal Oak….

I indulged in the lobster bisque, bruschetta, and spicy lobster roll, all of which were flavorful. Each dish was served hot, showcasing the freshness of the ingredients. The service was top-notch, with our needs attended to promptly and attentively. Despite being seated by the window at the entrance, which wasn’t our preferred location, it did not detract from the overall experience. Overall, our visit was fantastic, and I would highly recommend this restaurant, especially during Lobster Month, for anyone looking to enjoy delectable lobster dishes served with exceptional service.

The ambiance is loud. This isn't some place I would take a date or for a romantic dinner. We've sat at pretty much every table and it isn't any quieter anywhere. Now you could sit in the front window which is somewhat better. That way you won't have drunk patrons at the bar bumping you in the back of your head with their butts. The food is pretty good. Oysters and lobster corn dogs and lobster bisque are a must. They had really good chicken piccata. I didn't see it on the menu this last time though. Their Power grain salad I enjoyed as well. This last time, I had the crab cakes with mashed potatoes, sweet corn relish and a side of balsamic Brussel sprouts. All was very good. The only issue I had, is the crab cakes were over cooked and had a slight burnt taste to them. Our server, Kim was a delight and made some great suggestions and was always attentive, even with the chaos of the numerous people who were there that evening. I would say this is a better place for a lunch date rather than for dinner. Plus, it's much less expensive at lunch as well.

Only had half the menu, didn’t have neither of our entrees so we had to order different entrees that wasn’t good at all. Our reservation was at 8 we didn’t get our appetizers until 9:10 and the place was less than half full, waitress was nice though

So for starters they ran out of anything that had to do with lobster and shrimp. Threw off my wholllleeeeeeee vibbbeee. I made a reservation weeks ago and this is what i get? So we tried to stay and order appetizers my calamari was super tuff and rubbery as hell i couldn’t even digest that well. I’m so disappointed because we spent $40 on appetizers and it wasn’t good. It’s going to be a good minute before I go back alll because of what I experienced yesterday night. Our waitress was super nice tho.

Maybe we just came in a bad day. We heard a lot of great things about this place. We ended up getting an igloo, which was nice however the heater in there was terrible and it barely got above 40degrees. Waitress said she would swap the heater but never did. The service was also a very rough go. We waited 40 mins for our drinks. I think the waitress forgot about us to be frank. She then came out and said that the employees were fighting and crying in the back. She also never put in our order, so we had to wait an additional time for our order to be made. So from the moment we got seated it took us 40 mins to get our drinks and over an our for an appetizer. Dinner came out quickly, thankfully but lobster tower waffle thing was very over seasoned and we had to take off all the breading. The waitress came back and asked us if we needed a box, we said no, we’re still picking at it, and she ended up taking the meal away anyways. She also ended up spilling a good chunk of our drink and didn’t offer to remake or take it off the bill. Our appetizer plates and all were still on our table to we had to put the used plates and shakers from our drinks on an extra chair. I think we just had a bad experience but it’s was one for the books.
