Situé au centre du Vieux Worthington, le restaurant The Whitney House présente une nourriture réconfortante américaine, une cuisine concoctée de A à Z, raffinée et rustique.     Interesting menu. Something for everyone. The Brussels were awesome. Big portions. Good wine list.

    We were looking forward to dining at the Whitney House. 5:30 reservations. Can we take advantage of your Happy Hour? No. That’s only available in the “Tavern”. Most other restaurants would make the exception. Over priced cocktails. Presentation of our sandwiches poor. Sandwich on a plate next to a pile of unseasoned potato chips. Not even a slice of pickle or tomato!

    The food was reasonably priced and the service was good. The menu was limited compared to other restaurants of similar size and types. However, the noise level in the dining room was too loud to have a discussion with my wife. We went to The Whitney House for our anniversary dinner and were not able to have a normal conversation. Disappointing.

    We very much enjoy our visits to The Whitney House. The most recent visit included the Sunday Supper which was very good and the Bean Bowl - something different but tasty. The Whitney Paloma is always a good choice.

    I was followed to my table by a server who proceeded to tell me not to use the employee bathroom again. Clearly I had no idea, directions were confusing, it was embarrassing, server was a witch. Also portions are awfully small, you’ll leave hungry. Plus the food isn’t seasoned well, you’ll need salt and pepper!

    I was really looking forward to dining at the Whitney House given it’s good reviews. Sadly, I was not impressed. The service was good and it was clean and the ambiance is fine, but their timing was off. I don’t like it when they do not give you enough time to finish your first course (salad) before they bring out the entree, which is precisely what they did. Secondly, the food was ok but nothing to rave about. I had the seafood pasta. The portions were ridiculously huge which I would overlook if the dish were exceptional, which it was not. The shrimp was not grilled or seared as expected and the dish itself was under seasoned. I rarely add salt to any dish, and especially not at restaurants, but this one required quite a bit of additional salt to even begin to have flavor. Great neighborhood and the restaurant has lots of potential, but they need to step up their game in a city that has many other restaurants that are exceptional.

    Our first time and it was exceptional. Our short rib pierogi appetizer was delicious - so flavorful and unique. They had a halibut special and my husband and myself both got it. The fish was cooked perfectly and the gnocchi was fluffy and light. We had a great time and would not hesitate to return.

    Food was delicious! Service was pretty slow and it’s a bit loud since everyone is so close. But we had an enjoyable time!

    Great spot to connect with a friend. Had food options and were able to accommodate dietary needs. The service was fast and consistent.

    Food and service were outstanding. The walleye was very tasty but the star of the dish was the sausage, shrimp and vegetable hash. We also had the smash burger, blackened chicken salad and a halibut special. All were delicious. Drink cocktails were original and tasty. Prices may have been a tad high. Service was cheerful and attentive without being too much. Highly recommend for any special meals or occasions
