The service could have been better for the price like at Eddie V restaurant. They have outstanding service making you feel as if you have your own personal server which are all dressed in black tie. The food was not great. The Tomahawk was filed with cartlidge,(Fleming Prime much better) the scallops were mush,(anteres else is better) the chefs ceviche was BLAND,(Pollo Inka in Hermosa is better) but the drinks were good.

They didn’t have what was on the menu for the courses and some of the fruit was molded. We did have that last session but for the price that I paid I should have received compensation for that mistake. On top of being with a 1 year old and the food was the portion of an adult plate.

I've been to The Strand House before and had a good experience. However, this Mother's Day Prix fixe menu was not worth the price. I was not impressed with the chicken and waffle entree or the donut option for dessert. Also, we were charged 20% gratuity automatically to our bill and I'm not okay with this new process. The servers were helpful and attentive, but I won't be going back.

This was the loudest restaurant we have ever been in. My wife and I had to shout to have a conversation across the table. It was difficult to relax and enjoy our meal. We couldn't wait to pay our bill and get out of there. We vowed to never return. For the price, the food was disappointing also. I ordered the seafood dinner that the menu said was in a white wine sauce. It was not. Rather, it was a tomato based sauce that was not very good. There are plenty of better options along the coast. I will say that the staff was very attentive but it didn't help make the meal bearable. We won't be returning to this restaurant.

Once you are past the robotic greeting, not at all welcoming, the whole experience is excellent. Food was wonderful and our server was a real sweetie. Cold fries were quickly replaced and done with a smile. Location looking out over the pier is great.

The food was fantastic. I had the best Branzino I have ever had, and the scallop dish was also excellent. We would highly recommend this restaurant. Would suggest offering Valet Parking on weekends.

We always have an amazing experience at The Strand House and this time (to celebrate by birthday) was no exception. Was greeted by the friendly host team and brought upstairs to a lovely corner table overlooking the ocean and the iconic Manhattan Beach pier. Our friendly and attentive server Nathan ensured that the cadence of our breakfast was leisurely - not rushed. The açaí bowl and the eggs/corned beef hash entree were both excellent, as was my latte. And of course we saved room for TSH’s homemade donuts — a complimentary birthday treat which was served with a signed birthday card. The Strand House is a must for anyone looking for a lovely meal with a killer, panoramic view of the South Bay.

I tried to call the restaurant the next day after our experience before I submitted this poor review. Unfortunately there was no way to connect to a person from calling their phone number. If management cares about why this review is so poor contact me, the customer.

Absolutely nothing special about this restaurant unless you don’t get out often. Food fine, service fine, space fine. Certainly doesn’t stand up to some of the reviews which I can only assume come from infrequent “fine dining” guests. I can find great in everything from a dive bar cheeseburger and a taco stand burrito to a Michelin star restaurant. This restaurant was simply just blah. At 200 for two with no drinks or wine, I would expect to at least be able to say we had a great dinner. But it’s really just ok

Delicious food and service was great! Stunning view of the ocean! We were supposed to go dinner , reservation at 5 pm but we were already in the area at 3:30 and were hungry, so we went and they accommodated us. We had the late afternoon menu so we will definitely come back for the dinner!

John our waiter was absolutely wonderful. The prosciutto pizza was tough to cut and to eat as they have just changed the recipe. The crab cakes were delicious and the donut holes for dessert are a don’t miss.

Good food and service. Wonderful view. Lovely restaurant, but hands down the noisiest place I've ever been. Impossible to talk. Left with ringing in my ears. So sad given everything else is lovely, but I won't go back.

Friendly & professional staff, nice ambience & view. Noise level 7/10. We appreciate the complimentary doughnut holes for my husband's birthday. He said his short ribs were good & my mom liked the asparagus. Ate almost the whole plate by herself. We got the blood orange marmalade & burrata baguette, French fries & Parker House rolls to share. The baguette was actually four pieces of crostini but was good. The six rolls were very small for the price & were nothing outstanding. The butter didn't have much taste either. Unfortunately the fries were the worst we've ever had. Extremely dry like sawdust. Mom & I got the crab cakes as our entrées. They were just okay & small for the price. The gribiche sauce that came with it was good. I got the Japanese cheesecake with guava raspberry sauce. It was overpriced & dry, not very tasty, & they could've given more sauce. I feel terrible for saying this, but I'm not sure I'd return based on the food & price.

Our table was promptly ready upon arriving. After learning that my wife and I would rather not sit too close to the bar due to noise / activity, they quickly adjusted our seats to a front row ocean view….. the best in the house! Marina, our waitress was exceptional and personable from start to finish. We will definitely request Marina upon our return. Oysters were fresh, charred Brussel sprouts with Gorgonzola / bacon tasty, truffle risotto complimented the delicious Bronzino which led four scrumptious hand crafted doughnuts along with after dinner drinks to complete our wonderful experience!

Great services but we might as well been sitting with the people next to us and there were lots of open tables that were sit empty when we left to maybe not do that next time. No music that we could hear other than the table next to us talking and they weren’t speaking loud but we were 12” away. Food was amazing as well as the view.

Where to start, the view is worth every penny but you couple it with the chef, incredible. We got a 515 reservation on a Tuesday and were able to get seating immediately. The apps were devine, we had the bread and crudo did a signature cocktail. Dinner was scallops with couscous and Angean Branzino with risotto with couple glasses of white whole. The Branzino was well done but very rich coupled with risotto, but felt as though dish was missing some acid to wake it up, but I also know I’m so picky and most likely a personal palette preference! Only thing I’ll wrap with is, it absolutely started getting busy around 545, so if you were wanting quiet spot, go earlier in the evening, and getting our waiter as we were wrapping up was bit difficult but a he was superb nonetheless! All in all, if you’d made it this far, you’ll get what you pay for here and huge fan 💯

2nd time at The Strand House. Love it and can’t wait to return. Our server, Ric P, has been there for 13 years and his recommendations of the menu, attentiveness and humor made it an unforgettable night, thanks!
