Food is always great. Service too. Inside it’s probably the loudest restaurant in nyc so at this location I’ll try to only eat outdoors. Though it was even noisy outside last night. We were near the bus station and the guys were just banging the dirty dishes into the bin.

It was very noisy and crowded for lunch. There is a back area and the front hostess (who did not appear busy at all) did not bother to walk me there. I was wandering around looking confused and the hostess at the back room did not even bother to ask if I needed anything. I had to stop a waiter who then directed me to the hostess. The noise level made it impossible to hold a conversation. Waiter took forever to take our order. Then we had to remind him in the middle of our meal that we did not get our drinks. Not likely to go back.

Overall they do a good job & manage to get you in & out with some efficiency. That being said, our evening started with a plate being dropped & splattering sauce all over us while waiting 10+ minutes after our reservation to be seated, including hot sauce in the eye. Nothing was done to help - we had to ask for a rag 3 times to wipe up & nothing was offered for our inconvenience. We had to ask for sauces 3 times before they came & the bill twice before it was brought. Lastly, the fish (in fish & chips) was soggy inside the crust & the chips were extremely salty.

Excellent dining experience! Great/varied menu--food was delish & prepared so well. Our server Breanna was the best--experienced, invested, customer-oriented. And the restaurant's bus'ers are all terrific too--professional & attentive. And wow, a restaurant that still serves bread when you first sit down & you're starving--what a treat! The noise level is high but the tradeoff for the location i guess. Only downside was the table size--they cram lots of tables into their space so they're fairly small and we honestly had trouble fitting all the food, beverages and plates on our snug table for four.

The room in the back slightly quieter. Large salad with salmon a safe bet. Close to Lincoln Center is the charm.

This was my first time at The Smith and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were led initially to an indoor table but asked if we could sit outside instead and were immediately accommodated. We were fortunate that they had an outdoor table available as if we had eaten inside I think we would have been bothered by the noise level. Our server was very cheerful, efficient and helpful. We ordered a side dish of brussels sprouts - which were phenomenal - the bolognese pasta and a dinner salad with chicken. Everything was delicious. The prices were on par with most NY restaurants but not exorbitant. We will be back!

Great pre-theatre location. Good food, great services, tough to have a conversation. Despite the noise level, my “go to” for Lincoln Center pre-theatre. Never disappoints.

This is one of my favorite places to go for business meetings, meet ups, catch ups, pre/post performance drinks and food. The manager is lovely and the staff is always wonderful. The food last night wasn't the best for some reason, maybe because it was so busy, but I'll continue to support as they always have fantastic drinks and food offerings.

My daughter and I LOVE The Smith! We always go when we’re in town. It’s our favorite. Food os delicious and staff so friendly and warm. Also a great location by Lincoln Center. We’ll be back!!.

Even though it was Mother's Day we were seated 30 minutes before our reservation. Our waiter Henry was amazing! He was professional, kind, personable, helpful and allowed us to enjoy our meal without feeling pressured to get up and out. I asked for a lemon drop martini with a splash of pomegranate and even though it wasn't on the menu it was made without a problem. The spring salad was delish and our Tbone was great. Not in this area much but will def stop by if we are.

Consistently good execution. You know what you will good and it will generally taste the same way each time you go there. Service is usually quite good, but spotty the last couple of times that I dined at this outpost of The Smith.

Good food and excellent service. Can’t hear the person in front of you due to everyone shouting to be heard. Definitely not a place for a romantic or quiet moment. Very expensive as well, compared to the food level.

Celebrated my husbands 65th with 3 of our kids and their spouses! Everything was delicious- (except for the calamari which should have been fresher and more bountiful a platter!) Carlos our waiter was attentive and pleasant - Thank you again!

The only reason I have noise and ambiance fewer stars was because we were seated outside near the street. It was comfortable but not as nice as inside. The food was very good particularly the salmon appetizer and the gnocchi dinner. The reason I have service 5 stars was because of it server. She was wonderful and very honest in dealing with a dairy and gluten allergy at the table. The prior server, we arrived just as shifts were changing, had no interest in providing allergy related options.

I specifically ordered a burger no onions, sizzled onions on the side to give to my friend. I received a burger with raw onions on top. I pushed them off since we were hungry did not want to wait again. We ate indoors since cool outside. It was quite noisy. Thank you

Had an okay time at the restaurant, but then called and requested a copy of my receipt. The host forgot to mute herself and said “idk why this b**** is calling for a fu***** receipt”. People work hard to enjoy a nice time out, have some manners.

We ate outside - the most uncomfortable chairs I ve ever sat in! (The people at the other tables agreed, so it s not just me.). Food was very tasty. Service was very good. Excellent location (as we were going to Lincoln Center afterwards).

Sorry to say but this visit to the Smith was a disappointment. Quite honestly the food just isn't that good. I ordered a Grilled Chicken sandwich and it was mediocre to say the least. The place is too expensive to put up with not great food. Sorry!
