Lovely experience at The Smith's East Village location, thoroughly enjoyable for a 15-year-old's birthday celebration. The right amount of 'specialness' at dessert (i.e. no 'cringe' singing ;). Favorite of the 3-4x I've been to a The Smith. Vastly prefer the East Village location and layout to Lincoln Sq. In a word: it rocked. 🤘

An incredibly catered experience in every sense of the word. The whole staff from the servers to the manager are the absolute gold standards of hospitality. The quality of the food was incredible, the prices were fair, and the portions were great as well! My group and I left our night with The Smith wanting even more. Thank you kindly for hosting the International Policy & Planning Association from NYU Wagner.

My guest and I ate early on Sunday to beat the later brunch crowd. At 10 AM the place was quiet and table selection was plenty. Our server was very friendly but not that attentive and even less so as the place got busy. Order seemed to take longer than I expected for a salad with salmon entree and eggs Benedick. My eggs and fries were barely warm but edible. I suspect our entrees were sitting awhile before finally brought to our table by our “Mr. give us a little more attention” waiter. Noise level was quiet and loud as they were busy by the time of our departure.

Had a wonderful family dinner. Food was delicious. And they were kind enough to move our big table away from the back where they had initially put us.

This place is tops for me as far as brunch is concerned which is the only time I've been there on Saturdays and Sundays. However, the menu is all is quite comprehensive and all is available for brunch service. The place is noisy but hey it's NYC, its def not low key or romantic. Haven't seen dinner service yet I think it's probably just as loud. Again, no big deal unless your looking for a quiet place. The eggs Benedict are the quintessential classic brunch that they do ridiculously well. My wife had their vodka sauce with eggs that was the most impressive vodka sauce we've had. The drinks are artistic and well balanced; the "cucumber loco" was off the chart! Service is just enough attentiveness and just enough let me enjoy my meal! Lol I'm still bummed about the rising costs of eating out and supply chain, but if you have the dough it shouldn't matter how much it costs if you have excellent food, served in an excellent manner with excellent staff! I'll pay ;)

One star was deducted from food because the mimosas were 95% orange juice and 5% procecco. Not worth the $14.

From the moment I called the restaurant to confirm the reservation and spoke with Gabby, who is a sweetheart and very helpful with parking suggestions, I knew I would enjoy this experience. Erica, our waitress was fantastic. Just a smile on her face the entire time, and as I looked around, I realized the same was true for the entire weight staff. I had the best chicken sandwich of my life and the steak my son ordered, which came out rare instead of medium rare, went back to the kitchen with apologies and a smile and returned on a completely fresh plate with all the fixings. Just a lot of fun.

Our food did not come out for over 45 minutes and all we ordered was a kids meal, apps and two burgers.

The food at The Smith is always top notch. I was impressed with the service tonight, as my boyfriend has a nut allergy, and the manager came over himself to tell us he made sure the chef knew about it. Great spot for a date night.

We eat here several times a year. The food is dependably delicious, with nuance and an attractive presentation. The hazelnut ice cream was the most delicious I’ve ever had both creamy and with chopped bits of nuts, too. The BIG, little disappointment was the espresso. A demi-tasse is the small cup espresso is served in. It should be full. My little demi-tasse wasn’t even half full. It was a troisième-tasse. Wholly unacceptable end to what would have been a delightful meal.

The noise level was too high but there is no way to evaluate it on open table questionnaire. The food was good with ample portions. Some of the food was TOO SALTY to the point where I had to a headache the next day morning. The Brussell sprouts were to oily in addition to the salt. The asparagus and broccoli were much better prepared. The service was excellent, taking into account account the celiac disease for one of us and the allergy of someone else.

A really good place. Food was good - we had a salad and a omelette rancheros. Both were delicious. Very loud but we were in a booth so that was good. I’ll return next time I’m over near Union Square. Good idea to have a reservation.

Hosts at front end were tremendously patient and accommodating as we unexpectedly had to change both the size of our party and the time of our reservation. Thank you especially to Gabby! Service was timely, efficient, and friendly, and food was delicious!

This was our first time to have lunch at this restaurant. We were all impressed with the service and the ambience of the place but most especially the food taste delicious and nicely done. We always try different restaurants every time my friends and I have a meet-up in the city. Next time I will bring my husband here to have the same experience like we did. Will recommend it to my other friends.

Outstanding waiter and service. Food was wonderful and very diligent on allergies with suggestions and alternatives. Noise level was very low as it was a late Sunday evening so we had wonderful conversations

When a menu lists "Shrimp" as an appetizer and charges $4.00, it would be reasonable to assume that they would provide a number of shrimp ... certainly not only one shrimp. Well, that's what was served yesterday --- ONE shrimp for $4.00. Enough said.

Fine post Public Theater dining. Happier with their brunch or dinner menu( lots of choices). At the awkward sunset hour between four and five Pm, more limited. What we ordered was delicious and service very efficient and attentive

We had a very long wait for the food at an off peak time. Waited for about 45-50 minutes. And the food was below average. Even their burger was not great. The manager brought over chips while we were waiting (but this was after a 45 minute wait) Disappointed with a restaurant we normally like

I always have fun at The Smith restaurants. They have great comfort food and friendly staff. It is loud, and my hearing isn’t great, but I had no problem holding a conversation with my friend.
