Vous aimez le porc, le vin et la bière ? Après avoir créé l'Eddie V's, le Roaring Fork et le Hopdoddy, Larry Foles et Guy Villavosa vous présentent le Salty Sow. Ayant réuni leurs talents culinaires, les chefs Harold Marmulstein et Nox Ybarra ont pris les commandes de ce restaurant raffiné d'Austin proposant des plats élaborés de A à Z. Le Salty Sow sert une cuisine rustique moderne, alliant les nouvelles techniques de cuisine aux méthodes de l'Ancien Monde, comme le braisage, le pochage et les ragoûts. Les cocktails sont confectionnés à partir d'ingrédients frais du jardin ainsi que d'alcools locaux et bio. Excellent drinks and great food and service. The patio was comfortable, even with the humidity. Happy hour is the perfect time to go and check out many small plates at a time, the deviled eggs are some of the best I have ever had!

Came for Mother's Day Brunch. Everything was good. Highlights as usual: truffle deviled eggs & beat salad (the pistachios should be sold by the pound). Brunch Specials: Schnitzel wow SO good. Smoked salmon quiche was good. Biscuits with honey butter, needed more honey, but biscuits were flaky & BUTTERY. Bacon & Eggs, & the burnt ends hash were fine. Brussel leaves are hard to eat, but taste good, likely won't order again. Bananas Foster beignets were yummy, could use more sauce. Everything was very rich. I would have liked an option for some fruit to lighten things up for a mid-day meal. All in all, as a family of 6 everyone went home happy & full and I was grateful I didn't have to cook! Chicken thigh dinner and the beef shoulder are our every day favorites, if you're considering dinner.

Had a great time as usual at SS. It was my birthday and the team there recognized it and gave us a special table. Mason and his team made the whole evening special and the food was very good as we have been accustomed to experiencing.

The Parmesan crusted halibut special over lemony mashed potatoes was SPECTACULAR! Absolutely the most delicious meal I can remember. The other meals at the table were great too but the halibut was beyond expectations.

This is our favorite restaurant in Austin. The food and service are always amazing, along with their specialty drinks. Everyone at Salty treats their customers so well and really makes you feel at home. It’s just a great place to spend an evening.

We had a great celebration dinner here. The food was outstanding, from the charcuterie of the day to the entrees and OMG the banana foster beignets, would go back just for those! The service was great, even on busy graduation weekend

Seated immediately by a friendly hostess (we had a reservation). Drinks (alcoholic and mocktails) were pretty good. Got the biscuits for appetizers- very good, a little small for $2.50 each but perfectly portioned for 1 per person. Wagyu burgers were good but.... cheese and Pickles only?? Really??? Fries were good. Crispy chicken thighs and smashed potatoes were not as expected... potatoes are literally smashed small potatoes and the chicken was pan seared, no breading. Good, just not as expected (our fault for assuming?, though the waiter had zero input on menu) and probably not worth the expense. Cheese grits were good. Redfish was very good. We would have gotten dessert, and probably ly another drink, but we had an inattentive server who seemed angry to have a job there, and never came back to offer until it was so late we had to leave. Bald guy with a beard. However, watching other tables, this seemed to be the exception. We would return, because the food was pretty good (not exceptional) and we REALLY wanted to try the desserts. Like, all of them. We will just request someone different next time.

Portions are not huge, but sufficient. It is hard to make a recommendation because everything in the menu is good. This is a must try restaurant for sure. To my disappointment, they no longer have the duck breast on the menu. That was one of my favorite dishes.

Overall experience was great. I had two pork carnitas tacos and the pork was cold. Everything else was pretty v good though.

Salty Sow is our favorite restaurant! Excellent service, always, personal, attentive, good recommendations, terrific bar drinks and wine, great daily specials. Last Saturday was the noisiest it has ever been, there were several large groups that got shouty, but it was still a great evening. The food is always fantastic, and a good value.

Food was tasty and portion sizes were as expected. Splitting appetizers, salads, and an entree was a great way to approach the meal. Scott was on point the whole time and helpful throughout. Recommend the salty sour!

This is a great place for happy hour. We ordered our drinks and a couple appetizers and the food came out well before the drinks. So - the food service is fast - so fast that you don’t want to order your food at the same time if you want to sip your drinks first.

Everything tasted amazing. The happy hour deals are an INSANE value. Absolutely going back to try more items from their tasty menu. It was pretty loud in there but not in an obnoxious way, just busy and everyone was having a good time around us so it made for a good vibe.

I liked the food alot. Although within minutes the food was at the table and barely any time between courses. They do have a problem with gnats in the restaurant which is annoying. Also my waiter had attitude and seemed like he could not wait for me to get done. Food was great but not sure if I would go back.

Almost too popular. Not a spur of the moment walk in place. You have to do your homework to find this out, i.e., go to website. Then hope you can get the time you want. But once you’ve learned the ropes you’ll have a great experience.

As always, amazing experience! This is the perfect spot to grab a bite before a show at Bass or The Moody Center. Service is fast and always extremely reliable. The staff seem to love their job and our waitperson said it is the first place he has worked where he can absolutely state that he loves the job. See you all for the next Broadway show!

We had a reservation and they were running behind on reservations but the lovely lady at the host stand was super friendly and kept us informed of being able to honor our reservation. First time dining here and the food and service was superb. Ordered appetizer, one main entree and two sides. Everything was outstanding!! Highly recommend.
