There are some good food options here, it it’s seems to be primarily a pub/sports bar. The menu is a two page flyer that resembles an old newspaper and one side is just drinks. We had some really good fried Brie cheese curds with a nice blueberry sauce. I had a great almond chicken salad that had lots of fun stuff and not too much of the salad. The dressing g was light, so I asked for more and was charged. The fish and chips looked good.

Are server was fantastic, the brie cheese curds with blueberry sauce was spectacular, the bar had such a cool theme. The overall vibe of the place was really nice, it was really cool to read 1900’s newspapers.

Absolutely horrible food. We ordered the California Panini and the meatloaf sandwich. The Panini had a flavorless, bland, completely unseasoned piece of chicken. There was a minimal amount of chipotle mayo that added the only detectable flavor. I asked the server for a little more chipotle mayo, she never brought it to the table, however, she charged us for it. It was only a dollar charge, but her lack of service just punctuated an already awful dining experience. My son ordered the meatloaf sandwich and it was dry and similar to chewing on cardboard.

Staff was annoyed we used open table to book was not inviting and went out of their way to tell us that they did not want to seat us because we did not give them enough lead time place was empty and many tables were together for larger parties then us but we were told they could not accommodate 8, table open for 10 next to us table for 15 a few feet away and again the place was pretty empty.

Highly recommend. The food was very tasty, & portion size was perfect. Our server was knowledgeable & helped us make great choices. The old fashioned was tasty, too.

Pros: We liked the atmosphere The shrimp mac and cheese, the grilled asparagus, and the soup of the day were good The hostess/manager (doing both jobs) was friendly Cons: My drink came out late All the hot food was luke warm The cob salad was mediocre Our server seemed distracted They ran out of spoons. My wife and I shared one until they were able to find one for me. A Liquor tax was levied on my non-alcoholic beer? Not The Newsroom’s fault I suspect but it doesn’t seem right.

This is a pretty mediocre experience overall. And the poor organization and performance of the servers was particularly frustrating. Dishes came out at wildly different times, a burger came out raw and never reappeared after being taken back for further cooking, requests were filled very slowly, and there was no apology or concession for any of this. Do not recommend.

We had a party of 6 for dinner and everyone was thoroughly impressed. The ambiance is unique & interesting. Everyone loved their food although the consensus was the lasagna was the best overall dish. The portions were just right. We did have one meal that was taking longer than the rest and they addressed it before we had a chance to event ask. They took care of the issue in a professional way and we were impressed with everything about it. It was a great experience.

I had a smash burger. Good, but quite greasy. Fries were good. I enjoyed sitting in the bar area with the ship. Very cool.

We had a very good experience at The Newsroom. We went before attending The Lion King at the Orpheum. We had a very helpful and attentive waiter. We ordered red wine, wings (with plum sauce) that were delicious and a special - the Gobbler turkey sandwich. The sandwhich was good but the house fries that came with it were very tasty. We liked the menu - a wide selection and many items that we wanted to try. We will be back

6 drinks took 20+ minutes to get. One of the drinks didn’t come until midway through dinner after we said something. Hummus was flavorless and same with asian plum wings. Gnocchi was a fan favorite.

Amazing meal. We had drinks, app, soup, entree and dessert. Everything was just wonderful. Service was so quick but never felt rushed. Right amount of time between courses.

Took forever to get someone to come to our table, ordered drinks ans an app. Ordered our entrees when drinks came. App came out at the same time as the entrees. Server never checked on us until he brought the check. Cauliflower app was strange and chicken and waffles was not as described and had an odd taste.

Just hit and miss. The food was good. Server was pleasant and mostly helpful. Simple things like refilling the water glasses, etc. Also, they apparently dropped the salmon my daughter was having. Things happen...it took a very long time to get the replacement so she bascially ate alone. They did give us half off the dish which was nice. Overall, I would go back, but this place is not the same as it used to be...like so many others.

The food took a very long time to arrive, and we didn’t get a lot of attention from the busy server. Most of the food quality was very good, but the almond chicken was pretty dried out.

The desserts were great but two of the three main dishes fell flat. The burger was undercooked and we couldn’t get the server’s attention to alert her to the situation. The Salmon Pasta was low on flavor and presentation. We were not asked if we wanted a second drink. We will skip this place in the future.

Pleasantly surprised! It's been years since we've fined here. Everything was fantastic. Burgers, pastas and fish & chips. Definitely, going back sooner than later. Kids enjoyed it too.

Such a disappointment. The short ribs were salty and not tender. The waitress hardly checked on my and when I asked for a dessert to go she told me the kitchen was closed (over an hour before the restaurants closing time) and her manager stepped in and said it was okay. I took the dessert home and realized they forgot the ice cream and the apple pudding was gross. Overall a very expensive disappointment.

Super fast with the Brie curds. Which were so good and super unique. Meal was good too. Weird part was how we were placed in a random corner near no one else. But hey, it was quiet.
