Each summer, the moon’s gravitational pull orchestrates a breathtaking display of nature right outside our windows. The Marine Room will be celebrating this incredible spectacle with an unforgettable dining experience. Starting at 6 pm, The high tide dinner will feature a specially curated four-course dinner by Chef Alex Pailles, live music, and a celebratory toast at Sunset. Guests will have the option to select our Chef's Table experience, where they will receive additional menu courses from the Chef, a wine pairing from our Sommelier, optimal window viewing, and a parting gift as a memento for their high tide experience.

It has been 10 years, so a new chef for us. Outstanding food & service consistent through the decades. A bit more spice across the menu compared to last time, a more interesting palette. Caviar/Scallops/Wagu Beef favorites. We would applaud if the owners/members would consider a wholesale renovation to such a beautiful property like the LJB&T. Feels like ‘it’s time’ for a big update! Thank you all again for another enjoyable visit.

The Marine Room was a wonderful experience. The ambience and service was superb. Some of the food was over salted, and some under salted. But overall, the food was delicious and I would definitely come again. The potato truffle fries were a hit and is a must have. Note that it’s only valet parking.

This was an amazing experience. The food and drinks where impeccable. The sunset was soo beautiful and the waves crashing against the cliff in the distance really added to the romantic atmosphere I was trying to cultivate. I will most definitely return every time I visit San Diego.

I was very excited to dine here. But that was not the case after my experience. I communicated with someone at the restaurant prior to arriving to ensure a window seat (for the view). It was communicated that those seats are “first come first serve” and I noticed that for my reservation time there was still other available times. I understood their policy but was hopeful. When I checked in I asked about it and was told that they’ll check. We were then brought down and as I walk through the restaurant I noticed 4 open seats by the window. But no, we were sat all the way in the back in the corner. Our server was not attentive at all. Was more attentive to the guests in front of us. The food was good but definitely didn’t like how we felt at this restaurant especially for the price. For a first time it was a bad experience and felt like I just threw away $300 just because.

We have been dining at the Marine room for over 30 plus years and I have to say that we weren’t impressed with a couple entrees and salad. Three of us ordered the Swordfish and we all agreed that it was dry and not flaky and no flavor. The Caesar salad had way too much dressing and we have ordered this several times before and definitely wasn’t up to par. We were celebrating my son’s graduation from College and we were all a little disappointed with the food. The service was great and she made some suggestions and we enjoyed an appetizer that she recommended. My dad enjoyed his surf and turf but the other 6 dishes weren’t the Marine Room Quality and didn’t make me want to come back . I am truly sad to write this review as we have enjoyed many Family Occasions here.

Beautiful location facing the ocean- incredible experience watching the waves inthe bar. Service was a little slow in beginning but resolved as the evening progressed it took 15 minutes to get a cocktail

We had an amazing experience coming here to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. The food was amazing, the only critique we had was that the filet could’ve had a little more salt, every other dish we got was seasoned perfectly. Our server was friendly, and even remembered we were there to celebrate our 5 year anniversary, which felt very special. The waves were beautiful to watch, and the overall experience was amazing, we will definitely be back.

Our waiter set the tone for a lovely birthday celebration. I thought he must have been management or owner given his attention to detail and excellent recommendations. Our tuns dishes and lobster were also delicious. My daughter said the filet was one of the best she ever had. Everything was outstanding!

First time visiting the Marine Room. I've previously only heard about this place via social media. I was not disappointed. Sure, we only got a few splashes, but sitting watching the sunset was just right. Everyone there might have been there for the same reason so the anticipation seemed to add to the already ambient mood. The staff was amazing. They made my wife and I feel like we were the only ones there in attendance. They catered to us at the right moments. Absolutely considerate of our quality time we went to enjoy.

They apply a “surcharge” here which is going to be illegal soon in CA. That’s a substantial amount of money at this place. Won’t be coming back.

First time at the Marine Room for an Anniversary dinner. Seated at the perfect table by the window. Excellent views. Service was spectacular. We enjoyed cocktails, a glass of wine, appetizers, and main courses from the sea. All the food was prepared to perfection.

Never disappointed at Marine Room. This is no bad table in the restaurant. One-of-a-kind view in San Diego and the food is amazing.

It's always a special occasion to be at the Marine Room. From my specially crafted mocktail, to our server John's pleasant and professional recitation of key menu items, our experience was first-class. The waves lapping on the shore right outside our window only amplified the evening's charm. My salmon was cooked to perfection as were my sister's scallops, and my brother-in-law's two pound lobster stuffed with crabmeat was excellent. A special treat was the "extra" dessert to celebrate our occasion - a children's book collaboration/launch. The Marine Room does not disappoint!

Brenda, Congratulations on the launch of the book and thank you so much for sharing such a glowing review from your dinner with us last night. We are humbled to be part of this special occasion with your family. Your kind words for John and the team are greatly appreciated and as you felt he takes great pride in his role and sincerely cares for others. The mocktail that Tony our bartender prepared was so good it most likely will be a part of our summer selections, it reminded me of a creamsicle. The only special nights we have planned for this summer are the High Tide dinners and you can always check the website for special events. Great service. Amazing location and view. Food was very good but the options were far too limited. Be prepared to spend lots of $$$$.

I usually do not care about nicer diner experiences as the food usually tastes the same to me. So I thought. This place was just above anything I have ever experienced. They try to seat you by the windows but it's based on first come, first serve so keep that mind with yourt expectations. I truly can not put into words how good the food was.

Do not feel that a $15 charge for valet is appropriate for this type of restaurant.

It was a very delicious and classy experience! All the staff was super friendly and accommodating! The menu was big and full with amazing dishes - each one better and more appetizing than the previous. Great selection of wines and cocktails- especially the marine room special. Our waiters were Kevin and Ken and they were so professional and knowledgeable. I recommend for anyone- it makes your special occasion even more magical and beautiful. Not to mention the view😍 I have no words!

We always love the Marine room experience. Fabulous service, food and view it was our mother's 95th birthday and all of our menus were printed specially and said- Happy 95th Birthday Wow

Inventive preparation of the ahi tuna and the swordfish. For once, swordfish was not chewy or dry. Very attentive service. This is a great place for a fancy date. There were many candlelit couples, and we even got to see -- and cheer for -- a marriage proposal.

Food was incredible. Service was good. Our order was lost so we waited a very long time for our food. People that came in 30 minutes after us got their food before us.

Went for a birthday dinner & was very disappointed. Food was overpriced & just not that great! A “mock tail” costing $17?! Very heavy, salty & too rich. Bread was served cold. Caesar salad was soaked in dressing. Serious lack of vegetarian & vegan options. Nice view of ocean but would not go back. Had a stomachache after & I barely ate. Underwhelming!!!
