The food and atmosphere were good but a couple of slipups in service were a slight disappointment on the day - an incorrect main course delivered and a drink order that was delayed for some time. These are unusual so may just be a one-off.

The interior is beautiful and the food was amazing. Excellent value for money. Our only gripe was that my mother (70s) and I (40s) were seater on a table right between 2 families with very young noisy children. I would suggest that the staff plan the seating a little better so that people without children and want a quite meal, are not seated in the family areas. So overall great, just needs a little more thought put into the seating plans.

We love going to Ivy’s when we visit London, unfortunately this time at Covent Garden was very disappointing. Food arrived before wine, they hold our food by the counter until wine arrived, too many staff not knowing what to do and head waiter very unprofessional.

Booked this after a local show and happy enough with service, food was very nice, but wine we chose wasn't our palate. However, manager changed it and did not charge, which was great. Starter of olives is expensive for 6 olives, zuccini is great, fishcake was tasty but needs a side dish, wife had a gluten free burger which she was happy with. Overall, an old pub building converted and not quite the genuine Ivy article.

Very poor experience and spoilt my mums 80th birthday celebrations. Steaks not cooked as requested and had to be redone, waitress surprised when i said wanted fresh sides. Took 1hr 30 from arrival before we got food which was still not that good. Listened to staff arguing twice and tables crammed in. Not the luxurious experience I would expect for the Ivy brand and certainly not white glove service received in Manchester. Wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t return, am disappointed I chose this for such a special occasion

Too many customers for the size of the restaurant. Tables were unbelievably cramped. Not a comfortable experience at all. Whilst our server was lovely, too many tables for her to cover. We waited ages for our drinks. We were hoping for a relaxed long meal, but we left after our starter, and went to another restaurant for our main course and dessert. Sadly, we won’t be returning to The Ivy Market Grill.

Overall we had a great time but something I didn't appreciate is that we were refused to have drinks before our meal at the bar as it was used for dining only and when asked to sit at the table were told that it's not ready yet. We stood outside for about 15min by the outside seating, where our table was, and for that whole time the table we were offered was ready. I am not sure why were refused to sit earlier when there was availability.

Group of 5 sat on a really small 4 seater table, sat downstairs in a windowless room. Service was very slow and slightly surly. Drinks arrived after we’d almost finished our meals, felt like the server was annoyed at anything we asked for like water or ketchup. 20 minute wait for the bill. It was just all a bit disappointing.

Really good service. The location is excellent and super convenient, above all, the food was first class. Well done all those at the Ivy. We will be back in a couple of months.

On arrival our table wasn’t ready so we were advised to come back 20 mins after reservation, we wouldn’t have returned but everywhere was very busy so we wouldn’t have found anywhere else to eat and we were here to celebrate our Daughters 20th birthday We had travelled from Bath. After being seated where we felt squashed in a corner with a table for 6 that struggled to hold drinks and food for that. We waited for what seemed like an age for drinks and then again for food , we felt we had to get up and wander around to get staffs attention. When we did manage to get the attention of the staff they really were super helpful and polite just very busy. Felt our table was cluttered with empty glasses and bottles when our food was brought to the table we found ourselves rearranging the empty glasses moving them onto the floor as to be able to eat. So sad we thought our experience here would be wonderful for a birthday treat, very disappointed . We have visited The Ivy in Bath many times without any complaints. Over all overpriced overrated and won’t rush back.

This is the second occasion my family and I have eaten at the Ivy. The food is excellent although overpriced The occasion was spoilt somewhat by the door man refusing entry to my son. I had previously advised the door man that my son was running a few minutes late We had taken our table downstairs and it was only when I went outside to look for him that he informed me that he had been refused entry. Fortunately I was able to to return to my table with my son I found the episode overly officious and surprising given that I had specifically told the door man. Moreover, my son gave the correct name for the booking. Regards Mr M Lawrence

Brunch on the outside terrace. The setting is lovely although the tables are very close together, noted a few people asking to move. Our server was lovely and very polite but clearly they were understaffed. Food came before any of our drinks, and our coffees arrived when we had already finished our food even though we asked a few times. Was a recurring issue with all the tables around us. No one checked if everything was ok, all tables were having to continuously try and get someone’s attention. Ruins the experience a little especially when it’s a pricier brunch option, so expected better.

The food was good but the service was chaotic. The problems started with the 1917 menu. 5 minutes after taking the order, we were told the prawn curry was no longer available and so alternative choices were made. Another 5 minutes later we were told the steaks ordered were no longer available. Then the waiter tried to say we could not order from the main menu as the starters were being cooked from the set menu when 3 people did not want the remaining 2 options on the fixed menu. To add insult to injury at the end we were overcharged by over £100 as the changed items were only added to the bill and the unavailable ones not removed. Overall left a sour taste about the visit.

Service was not great, we had to wait a while for certain orders and they forgot the starters we originally ordered. There was also a misunderstanding about a lunch menu, which was resolved later on. Not the best experience and not the level expected from the Ivy.

Took my team to the Ivy Market Grill for a treat as appreciation of their brilliance. I wanted to take them somewhere special, as I’d been before and totally enjoyed. We travelled to London from Ireland. I took time to plan our trip and chose to eat at Ivy Market Grill. This experience was found to be sub par. We arrived on time for our booking and had to wait to be seated. We were squashed onto a table for 6, when there were 7 of us. There was no glassware for the 7th person so I was literally choking for a drink of water and couldn’t have one. Service was so so slow. The drinks came after about 30 minutes. Food order was taken and we waited for food. There were 3 starters ordered and they came quickly. But the main course was 40 minutes later. One lady ordered her steak well done and was served a rare steak. The side of chips came 5-10 minutes later and the peppercorn sauce later again. The lady asked for her steak to be cooked more. It was over 30 minutes before her food came back, we had to ask for fresh chips to go with her steak as hers were now cold. We ordered another drink and waited and waited for it. I was given the wrong cocktail, I asked for the one I’d ordered and got delivered the same wrong one again. Those of us that needed to use the facilities were disappointed by how dirty and untidy it was. I’ve been at your restaurant and others in the chain and this was the least pleasant experience I’ve had. Most disappointing as I was hoping for a wee bit of wow for my team. We will go elsewhere next time we visit London.

But great service from the start fantastic young man on the front I can’t remember his name but we had a reservation for 6:30. There was also very lovely young lady who I believe name was Leona., They made us feel so welcome and did everything they could for us. The food was fantastic. Will definitely recommend.

Great spot right in the middle of covent garden! Varied menu has something for every taste. Servers are very friendly though it definitely gets slow as the restaurant gets busy. At one point the manager was helping out which was nice to see. Cocktails were excellent.

Lovely atmosphere and good service . Food was really good and tasty . My partners birthday , I did mention on the booking bit it was not mentioned ! The lunch menu was not explained so confusion on the lunch menu . I would have thought for the price of a starter, it would have been refunded , the lovely waitress went to do it and her manager refused ! That’s was not great for the waitress. That said we would go again .

We had the 1916 set menu which had 2 courses , we added dessert and a side . Also had cocktail/ movktsils and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. It’s a busy restaurant . The water didn’t get our bill right and had a few goes toget it sorted… otherwise was awesome… would recommend.

Very pleasant experience, as always. The only thing that dampened the mood was a family with very loud children sitting right next to us, but as soon as they left everything was excellent again! Great service and amazing food!

Went for breakfast on bank holiday Monday after spending the night before in London celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary. Food was great and very good service. Our table for two was a little on the small side to take our plates tea pot etc. once we asked for the bill we were presented with a plate with a dessert and choc happy anniversary which was really appreciated and certainly not expected, thank you.

The food and drinks were delicious, and it was our daughter's birthday, and at the end of the meal, we ordered a chocolate bombe, and without asking, the waitress brought out one with a candle and sang happy birthday. The service was a bit hit and miss though - we were left waiting quite a while in some instances, and when we asked to take away the left overs from our daughter's meal, the waitress dismissed it and said there were no takeaway boxes, without thinking of an alternative solution. We just wrapped it up in a napkin, and I'm sure she could have found some foil or something - it felt that she didn't really care. The maitre'D then came over and said he'd find us a box - he was really helpful and friendly to our children and if it wasn't for him, the service would have received a lower rating! He did say that the box was the last one that they had, so I don't blame the waitress for saying they didn't have any, but good customer service should mean finding an alternative solution to the problem rather than walking away! Also, she cleared our plates when the adults had finished eating but the children hadn't. We find this really rude. Waiting staff should wait until all diners have finished before clearing any plates unless asked by the diners to do so.

Terrible service getting seated, asked 4 times if waiting for a table including by the same person twice. Only one server in the section so huge waits between arriving ordering and drinks. First disappointment ever with the Ivy Collection

Popped in for a quick lunch, seated outside, food and drink arrived very quickly. The duck and watermelon salad starter was beautiful, and the ivy burger was fantastic.

Great food & wonderful service. It was nice to have warmed pastries rather than cold ones. Our table was booked for 9.30 on Sunday when we got there a few tables were already there however by 10 o’clock it got very busy so if you don’t like crowded restaurants take this into consideration.

We are regular visitors of the Ivy but first time visiting the covent garden branch. The waitress was lovely however service was slow, our starters arrived before our drinks which was disappointing as we was seated for a while. Food however was delicious as always. We sat outside which was fine as the weather was mild however it became uncomfortable as there was a mouse running around the floor making me feel very uncomfortable. as soon as we ate we got the bill and left. I appreciate they cannot control the streets of London but they should create a suitable dining area especially when paying above average prices
