The Cottage, an upscale-meets-casual eatery in Linden Square Wellesley known for dependable, fresh, SoCal inspired menu options.

We partnered with Taniya Nayak, a featured interior designer on popular Food Network programs such as ‘Restaurant Impossible’ to transform the once light-flooded, beach-like, SoCal atmosphere to a warm, lively, and New England-comfort interior. Enjoy an emphasis on natural woods, live greenery, and pops of welcomed fresh color in the new interior and brand.

The Cottage will remain the same tried-and-true neighborhood eatery with a re-defined focus on local, fresh, and honest product, for the whole family, every day. The Cottage Wellesley’s new menu is created by Culinary Director, Peter Hansen, who brings his vast experience from all over the world to Wellesley, MA. In his career, Hansen has appeared on six episodes of Iron Chef and has worked alongside incredible culinary talent such as Michael White and Bobby Flay.

Our server was great. Food was solid and came in a timely manner . Peri-peri chicken was dry and tasteless. Fish and chips and taco fish were good. Nice family ambience for a Friday evening.

Food was good with the exception of fish tacos that were dry. Service was sweet but unprofessional. Our server offered me a sip of wine before I committed to a glass but left the table to get it and do a few things before taking everyone else’s drink order. By the time cocktails were served, food was being brought out. A double order of crab cakes came out on two separate plates. First course dishes weren’t cleared before the second course was served.

My husband and I had brunch on a Sunday at The Cottage a few weeks ago. We both found the food excellent and the service great. We went back on a weekday for lunch. The menu was different. We both agreed the food was not as delicious. We had the Harvest Bowl and the Fried Eggplant sandwich. Both were a bit tasteless. The service was fine. We would go back for Sunday brunch but less inclined for a weekday.

I have been to The Cottage many times and generally have always enjoyed the food. On this occasion there were several larger groups who were very loud and the noise was a serious impediment to conversation. This restaurant tends to be loud in general at lunch time. It is generally also very busy so I always make a reservation even for lunch. The food is worth the annoyance of noise and difficult parking . I also enjoy the specialty cocktails. They are pricey but enjoyable.

We really enjoyed our meal at the Cottages. Service was a bit slow, but that was due to the area we were in and an over-worked bartender doubling as our server. Food was delicious.

The steak was so tough I could not chew it. The flavor was terrible. My wife tried a piece herself and said it was the worst steak she had ever tasted. I sent it back and ordered a hamburger. It came 15 minutes after my wife had finished her meal. It was a cheeseburger not a hamburger so I sent that back as well. I ended up not having any dinner as my wife had finished hers. A terrible experience .

A fabulous experience from greeting to meal! The Cottage is one of our favorites. I invited my Mother for Mother's Day dinner and for her birthday which is the following day. We had a wonderful meal - the food was excellent, fresh and a beautiful presentation. We ordered the Chicken Piccata, Chicken Milanese and 1 sparkling water. The bill came to $65 which I felt was extremely pricey for 2 meals and 1 water. I didn't mind as it was a special occasion but I wouldn't spend that for a casual mother/daughter dinner out on a Sunday night.

We went for a Mother’s Day dinner and it was way off the mark. First when they called to confirm I asked if there was an earlier time than 4p and they said no. We walked into an empty restaurant when we did arrive. Then our waitress was late and told us she had several tables to get to so bear with her. No issue there. But then the food. We ordered apps which took forever. And then our mains came 5 min later. The hanger steak was as tough as nails and way undercooked. The halibut was as dry as a bone and way overcooked. From A to Z it just wasn’t goo food or a good experience.

Wonderful dinner of scallops succotash-4 big succulent seared scallops atop a melange of corn zucchini butter beans and cherry tomatoes with a light herby green sauce. Perfect springtime dish. Our waiter was outstanding-Gustavo, and I loved the gold Rush cocktail. We’ll be back.

We like the restaurant and we go there often. The menu has been changed a bit which was great, 2 out of 3 dish was very good. For some reason the restaurant was very noisy and 3 of us were having a hard time hearing one another. Other than that everything was great.

For two people to eat lunch with a reservation at 11:30 , it was so not worth it. I ordered a sandwich and my friend ordered a small plate meal. Hers came and my sandwich never did! Our waitress walked by us several times and noticed I had not gotten my meal. My friend was finished eating before our waitress cane over and said my meal should be right out. 15 minutes later still no meal. We got the waitress to give us our bill When she came over she told us they took my sandwich off the bill but could take it home. I politely said no thank you. What was the point? I wanted to eat lunch with my friend. She brought the meal out any way in a to go bag. Needless to say I left it there and will never go back.

The Cottage was one of our favorites but we were disappointed now under its new ownership. Dishes containing fish have less of it. Peri peri chicken was evidently prepared earlier, overcooked and luke warm when served. Sorry to say but the Cottage isn’t the same.

I ordered grilled salmon on a salad. Salmon was rancid. Or bad. I could not eat it. I had them remove it from bill but frankly entire salad could not be eaten due to taste of salmon on it.

Fabulous cocktail menu, food was fresh and delicious and we loved the atmosphere. We sat by the fireplace which was lovely. Wonderful service- very professional. We will keep The Cottage on our rotation!

A wonderful lunch with my bedt friend. Food was fabulous. I stopped coming for a bit because the food was lacking but happy to say it's my favorite place again!

Waiter was wonderful. One of the guests had celiac and he was very helpful in letting her know what was Gluten free and answered her various questions. Food and drinks were great :)

I ordered the Cobb salad which was mostly lettuce and was disappointing. The noise level was too much. I should have ordered the hamburger.

We picked the Cottage for brunch. Sadly we were not impressed. Let me start with a positive, the bacon was excellent and the atmosphere very nice and comfy and our waitress was pleasant and attentive. We started with Brunch cocktails which were lacking flavor. Steak and eggs although cooked properly was extremely small. The steak was four small slices of a hanger steak. The eggs Benedict was almost a hard boiled egg so no soaping up with the English muffin. One person got the southwest chop salad with some ingredients added to the salad yet not listed in the menu and some ingredients were omitted. Scrambled eggs were fine and cooked properly. Sadly we won’t be coming back.

Had a yummy brunch and service was very good! Only small issue was that my sandwich was missing the bacon...but since I didn't notice until it was half gone, I did not bother to say anything. Looking forward to our next visit!

Grilled chicken on salad was so dry and tough as to be inedible. Strawberry "shortcake" was not shortcake at all - more like a muffin - but was 'short' on strawberries. Maybe 2 strawberries? Nowhere near what I've enjoyed there in the past.

Although we had a reservation we chose to sit at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The bartender was extremely pleasant to converse with and very accommodating with my request for a specific type of martini! This restaurant is definitely a good one.

We’ve dined at the cottage on multiple occasions and typically had very good meals . Unfortunately last night was not great . We ordered 2 ceaser salads with grilled shrimp - the salad dressing had no taste and the shrimp were very overcooked. We also had a burger which was ordered medium rare and was served well done .
