The Carriage House Restaurant at Houmas House and Gardens offers a more casual dining experience in one of the most beautiful Dining Rooms in America. Whether dining at our 40 foot long grand dining room table, or an intimate table for two, our style is Comfortable and Southern. Classical Jazz music sets the background for this elegant casual dining experience. We suggest visiting the Turtle Bar before dinner and taking a tour of the Mansion prior to dinner. Guided tours last one hour, and begin on the hour. Ticket price for tour is $24 per person, and cocktails are allowed to be taken on the tour, so visit the Turtle Bar and take a drink along.

Laura(?) made such a wonderful experience for us! The dinning room(s) are absolutely stunning. The food prepared is beautiful and delicious. Well worth the price points. Following the meal, the grounds make a beautiful place to walk around.

This was our second time eating at the carriage house and once again the food was excellent and service was fast and top notch. I had the crab cake and pumpkin curry soup with crawfish. So delicious! My husband’s Wagyu filet mignon was cooked to perfection. Wished we didn’t live so far away as we would be back more often.

This is our second time eating at The Carriage House. Both times were so delightful. It is such a beautiful atmosphere where you can have conversations and just relax while eating. The service was great. Food is absolutely delicious. The dishes the four of us ate were both of the salads, lasagna, eggplant, redfish and special of the day shrimp pasta. Desserts were cannoli and turtle cheesecake. We will return.

Amazing dining experience on historical Louisiana grounds. The food is tasty and beautifully prepared. The restaurant has a great wine menu to please every wine taste. Enjoyable cuisine experience on the shores of the Mississippi River.

Bisque was exceptional as was the eggplant Napoleon. Friends indicated their dishes were excellent as well. Bread pudding was good but seemed to have been microwaved as the temperature was variable. Minor issue. Cocktails were done well. Service was attentive without being intrusive.

Our experience was nice. Love walking the grounds before and after to look at the pretty scenery. I didn’t love my scallops this time. I also didn’t love the seafood gumbo. I found them both a tad fishy. Wish I had gotten the beef salad. Bread and butter is always yummy. The red snapper special was very good. Drinks were nice and service was great also.
